  1. Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry When I take you out in the surrey, When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top! Watch that fringe and see how it flutters When I drive them high steppin' strutters. Nosey pokes'll peek thru' their shutters and their eyes will pop! The wheels are yeller, the upholstery's brown, The dashboard's genuine leather, With isinglass curtains y' can roll right down, In case there's a change in the weather.
  2. Inside outside, leave me alone Inside outside, nowhere is home Inside outside, where have I been? Out of my brain on the five fifteen Out of my brain on the train Out of my brain on the train On a raft in the quarry Slowly sinking Back of a lorry Holy hitching Dreadfully sorry Apple scrumping Born in the war Birthday punching
  3. Wedding receptions are usually warm weather affairs. My drink of choice at a wedding reception is gin and tonic. I’m not really much of a drinker, so nursing a few g&t’s is a foolproof way for me to get through the event.
  4. You know my girl just called me up And she woke me from my sleep You should have heard the things she said You know she hurt my feelings deep. I'm gonna buy me a dog 'Cause I need a friend now. I'm gonna buy me a dog, My girl, my girl, don't love me no how.
  5. An outfit in Utica that has been making craft spirits. I find their vodka to have too much of a taste, I don’t recall if I’ve had their gin. http://www.adirondackdistilling.com/ An outfit in Lake Placid whose liquors I have found to be good. “Filtered through Herkimer Diamonds” http://www.lakeplacidspirits.com/about.php in my family, the older generation (all are gone now) preferred Beefeaters as their “special occasion” gin, whereas the younger generation (all in their 60s now) prefer Tanqueray.
  6. Woke up this morning, my head was so bad The worst hangover that I ever had What happened to me last night That girl of mine, she loved me so right She loved me so long and she loved me so hard I finally passed out in her front yard It wasn't wine that I had too much of It was a double shot of my baby's love
  7. Groovin', on a Sunday afternoon Really couldn't get away too soon I can't imagine anything that's better The world is ours whenever we're together There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of Groovin', down a crowded avenue Doin' anything we like to do There's always lots of things that we can see We can be anyone we want to be And all those happy people we could meet just Groovin', on a Sunday afternoon
  8. This magic moment So different and so new Was like any other Until I kissed you And then it happened It took me by surprise I knew that you felt it too By the look in your eyes
  9. Time is on my side, yes it is Time is on my side, yes it is Now you all were saying that you want to be free But you'll come runnin' back (I said you would baby) You'll come runnin' back (like I told you so many times before) You'll come runnin' back to me, yeah Time is on my side, yes it is Time is on my side, yes it is You're searching for good times but just wait and see You'll come runnin' back (I said you would darling) You'll come runnin back (spend the rest of life with ya baby) You'll come runnin' back to me
  10. My wife and I booked a creek side B&B for next week. We had to cancel. I was really looking forward to it. I usually have a banana with breakfast. They won’t stay edible if shopping every other week. One week with a banana, next week without. Silver lining: I’m getting pretty good at making banana bread as they get too soft.
  11. What's that, honey? Pick you up at eight and don't be late? But, baby, I ain't got no money, honey Ha ha ha ha ha Oh, all right, baby, you know what I like Chantilly lace and a pretty face And a pony tail a-hangin' down That wiggle in the walk And giggle in the talk Makes the world go 'round There ain't nothin' in the world Like a big-eyed girl That makes me act so funny Make me spend my money Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose Like a girl, oh baby, that's what I like
  12. Man, it's a hot one Like seven inches from the midday sun I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone But you stay so cool My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa You're my reason for reason, the step in my groove
  13. I check that site also. Today they posted some possible good news... 4805 new cases and 681 new deaths in Italy. The number of patients hospitalized in intensive care has declined for the first time since the beginning of the epidemic in Italy The target of bringing down the reproductive number (R0) to 1 has been reached. Now the goal is to bring it below 1. Earlier in the epidemic, it was as high as 3. This value represents the average number of people to which a single infected person will transmit the virus. An epidemic with a reproductive number below 1 will gradually disappear An estimated 30,000 lives have been saved as an effect of the lockdown measures, according to Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) [source] [source]
  14. @Hapless Bills Fan This makes more sense... Cuomo is going to “ask” upstate hospitals to donate 20% of unused ventilators, with the goal of getting 500 total ventilators. https://www.syracuse.com/coronavirus/2020/04/gov-cuomo-clarifies-plan-to-seize-ventilators-expects-to-get-500-statewide.html
  15. One day my Dad said, "Find someone new" I had to tell my Jimmy, We're through He stood there and asked me why But all I could do was cry I'm sorry I hurt you, Leader of the Pack
  16. Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun Shine on you crazy diamond Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky Shine on you crazy diamond You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom Blown on the steel breeze Come on you target for faraway laughter Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine
  17. I love the colorful clothes she wears And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair I hear the sound of a gentle word On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air I'm pickin' up good vibrations She's giving me excitations
  18. It's much too groovy a summer's day To waste running 'round in the city But here on the sand I can dream away Or look at the girls in their pretty It's a turn down day, nothin' on my mind It's a turn down day and I dig it There's nothing easier I can do Than lyin' around doing nothing
  19. I'm in the dark, I'd like to read his mind But I'm frightened of the things I might find Oh, there must be something he's thinking of To tear him away-a-ay When I tell him that I'm falling in love Why does he say-a-ay Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry
  20. Well, they say it's kinda frightnin' How this younger generation swings You know it's more than just some new sensation Well, the kid is into losin' sleep And he don't come home for half the week You know it's more than just an aggravation And the cradle will rock Yes the cradle, cradle will rock
  21. I’m in the same boat, sort of. My wife is a carb lover. She could eat bread, pasta, and potatoes all day every day. I like to switch things up, but she’s not fond of meals that are heavy on meat and vegetables. I end up cooking for myself too often.
  22. I can take from my 401k, but I don’t plan to for now. I assume it will recover after a few years. I turn 63 this month. We can live for a while on my pension and my wife’s salary/pension (she retires in a year). Our only big expenses are trips that we’ve been planning. We’re have reservations to go to Germany this summer, but I don’t know if it will happen. Last summer we went to Scotland. I’m hoping to hold off on collecting social security until 65 or so. If/when we decide to move to be closer to kids and grandkids, we will use 401k money to get a nice house.
  23. Same with us. Either my wife or I would go grocery shopping almost every day. She loves a fresh baguette. Now she goes once every 7 to 10 days and fills the car. Plenty of time to cook. We have to be careful not to over eat.
  24. I’m retired with a pension. The bad news: I’m on a fixed income. The good news: I’m on a fixed income.
