  1. Has anyone else noticed that he lines up offside a lot, but it doesn't get called? Possibly over drafted, possibly still trying to find his strengths in the NFL, probably too early to tell.
  2. I am worried that the Bills will lose to the Saints. At that point, the mood around here will be pretty bad. After that there are two games on the road. After that, the Patriots come to town. Gulp. WIll the Bills be 6-6 at that point? There are several teams that could put together a string of a few good games. Jags, Ravens, Raiders, Phins, Ben-Gals, even the Jets could all turn their seasons around. With all the late season conference games, nobody will be able to predict anything for another month, which is just what the league wants. I'm starting to get Buffalo Bills Fan Syndrome.
  3. People are blaming run defense on poor tackling. I'm blaming run defense because there were holes big enough to drive a truck through.
  4. I agree that their method of winning is not sustainable. Particularly their receivers...Welker and then Edelman: Willing and able to catch the quick pass in traffic, get clobbered, then do it again. Without those receivers, Tommy Boy's quick release isn't as much of a weapon. That is probably why he is getting hit more often these days. He has been relying on that type of receiver for many years. Amendola and Hogan can't do it. They are too fragile (or too smart). Add Gronk (Mr. Pushoff) to the mix, and suddenly they can't lose. They also use a lot of "rub" routes, aka illegal pick routes if you are on the opposing team. Maybe someday a ref will start calling OPI, and then the whole system will really start crashing down. They also invest a lot in their O-line, so Tommy Boy is usually safe, and their bruiser running backs can get 5 yards every time. Eventually that O-line magic will end as well. IMHO
  5. so you're saying this way of winning is not sustainable? fascinating. I think I've heard that before. unfortunately, that year it turned out to be true (2011). https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/136754-the-bills-method-of-winning-is-unsustainable/
  6. A little bit of a subject change... One of my biggest gripes about Gilmore was the shoulder bump rather than a tackle. Today the CBs and Safeties for the Bills were grabbing legs and ankles, which is the best way to tackle somebody in the open field. Reminds me of Antoine Winfield. If Gilmore was out there, the Raiders would have been able to extend plays because of his shoulder bump tackle technique.
  7. Don't forget he has gone to the Pro Bowl. Which I know is a popularity contest and not a real measure of performance. And he went as a last minute substitute. But my point is that somewhere, somehow, somebody thinks he doesn't suck.
  8. That was great. The way he walks should give him away.
  9. You beat me to it. The significance of that sentence is that it uses every letter in the alphabet. But you knew that. Tyrod good. Unless not. But maybe better next time. Unless not.
  10. I am somewhat of an old time Florida guy. My family lived there in the 1960's. For some reason, the Chiefs were often the featured team on TV. My sister and I used to get a big kick out of the touchdown dances. I think it was Otis Taylor who was our favorite.
  11. I don't mind the touchdown celebrations but many of the "sack" "big catch" "first down" celebrations are annoying to me. In fact, I may have been hallucinating, but I think Mathews came darn close to getting a big penalty. I think it was O'Leary who caught a pass for a long play and a first down. Mathews was in the vicinity and he took the ball and tossed it with glee in a direction away from the refs. One ref reached for his flag and the other ref signalled for him to just let it go. I never understand why it isn't standard procedure for a player to just drop or place the ball on the ground in the area where the ref will use it to mark the new line of scrimmage.
  12. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bills-fan-sets-himself-on-fire-after-jumping-onto-burning-table/ar-AAtX4ZB Managed to get a link from MSN.com. That's almost a mainstream site. Not a good way to improve reputation.
  13. The Bills left 6 points on the table: missed FG and dumb play at the end of the first half. The defense was not covering the flats in the second half. I had lost all confidence.
  14. Is there any chance that the Pats are setting him up for some sort of injury settlement to get them out of his ridiculous contract? I'm just grasping at straws. I know nothing.
  15. It's on too late. I get out of bed at 4:30 am to start my day. I'm in bed 9:30-10:00 pm. I know a lot of people who are in similar situations. Unless the Bills are playing, I don't watch any of the three night games each week. i'm also getting less enthusiastic about watching random teams. I've lost track of who's on what team these days. I could go on an entire rant about how much I hate all the players changing teams for the highest bid. I know it's in their best interest, but the lack of continuity makes it hard for me to want to follow multiple teams anymore.
  16. Fitz will be in good shape next week. His arm gets tired after about four games. He will have a week to practice as the starting QB. This could be interesting.
  17. That brings back a memory that has made me angry for forty years. When I was in high school in Mass, the Patriots played a charity basketball game against my high school team. I was never a Patriots fan, but it would have been fun to go to the game. I couldn't go because I had a part time job as a fry cook at a crappy restaurant, and it was my turn to work.
  18. I've told this story before... My family lived in Ormond Beach in the '60's. When I was in 3rd grade ('65-'66) our elementary school PE teacher was a guy named John Stofa. One day, he was gone. My mother showed me an article in the newspaper that said he was picked up by the expansion Dolphins to play QB. I think it was their second season of existence. He played in Miami (back up QB mostly) for a few years, and then he bounced around the AFL for a few more years. An ok career. I googled him a while back and it turns out he was playing semi-pro football in the Daytona Beach area and was an elementary school PE teacher to make enough money to live on. He was not a fun PE teacher. Very strict and serious.
  19. Throw it! Throw it! My wife thinks I'm insane as I yell at the TV
  20. Relying too much on the run game is a problem. Shady is great but he will not carry the team. This is a WR league, not a RB league. I realize TT isn't the QB that most people want, but he's better than he looked today. Almost no passes to WR's, and a TE with a huge bandage on his hand (O'Leary) was one of the best weapons. Run, run, pass, punt. No good. FO or OC, something isn't right.
  21. I think Tampa Bay should put in the 2nd string QB
  22. Byrd had an amazing season for the Bills. Crazy interceptions. Wasn't that where the phrase "this way of winning is not sustainable" came from?
  23. I'm not sure that the praises for the O-line were warranted. I made sure to concentrate on Mills for a few plays. Not good.
