  1. I want to see Shady get into the secondary so that Gilmore has to tackle him.
  2. Have your front four get close, stay in front of him, stand up, and wave their arms. He won't like it. It has worked in the past. If the defense lets themselves get pushed to the side and the back, he will step into the pocket, and the slicing and dicing will commence. In Mario's last season with the Bills, he would let himself get pushed behind the QB all the time. It looked like he was so close, but really it was ineffective.
  3. Question: Do fans of other teams hate the pats and brady as much as Bills fans? I have several acquaintances and coworkers who root for teams other than the Bills, and none of them hate the pats and brady as much as I do. And I don't hate them as much as many other people on this forum.
  4. QB would be the preference, but you have to see who is available. Don't reach like the EJ Manuel pick. It's hard to draft a QB in the NFL.
  5. I'm more worried about losing players from injuries. That seems to happen a lot when playing the pats.
  6. Past his prime. Expensive. Doesn't represent the future. Wouldn't do well without a good line in front of him. His price would prevent other signings. Maybe Russ Brandon would want him for the hype. Are people on this forum really thinking like Russ Brandon?
  7. When the Dolphins were scrambling for the botched snap yesterday, I kept thinking "Somebody Hit Brady, Somebody Hit Brady."
  8. Worst case: We just barely miss playoffs and hurt our draft position unnecessarily. And somehow we miss out on comp picks, too.
  9. I was watching the Steelers-Packers game last night. Big Ben would audible and move guys around until the play clock got down to 1 second. The color announcer would talk about how he was keying on the defense to change the play. Think about Brady, Peyton, etc. All the really elite QBs will audible and move players around and end up calling a lot of plays themselves. Tyrod is not that type of QB. I would think that he has been in the league long enough to know how to do that. Maybe it takes a few years in a system for everyone to know what they can and should do. Maybe since this is the first year for Dennison and Tyrod, along with most of the receivers, they don't have the luxury of knowing the keys and making the correct audible adjustments. I have a feeling that Dennison and Tyrod will never get to that point.
  10. I will reserve my opinion on McDermott until next season. I feel like Dennison is the one who is holding the team back. McDermott has energy, discipline, etc. Just the opposite of Rex. Now I want to see if Dennison can either change the conservative nonsense, or is replaced next season (I know, I know, replacing your OC is not the type of continuity that winning teams thrive on). If McDermott lets Dennison continue next season with the same lame offense, then I will hold McDermott responsible.
  11. instant replay was terrible. practically non-existent. and what's with the fascination of showing a coach on the sideline instead of the players on the field? an attempt to make drama?
  12. go steelers. They are the only ones that can prevent the Pats from getting home field advantage for the AFC championship game.
  13. So next year we start with a new QB and a new OLine, and people expect things to go smoothly? Sounds like growing pains could start the Bills off in a hole, and who knows if the new talent will gel enough to dig them out of it. I think the idea of keeping TT around as a known quantity who isn't terrible is still a possibility, and if it costs $6M, that isn't all that bad. I also think TT's ability to scramble will still be valuable as the new OLine starts to work together. Half the people want to put a rookie in immediately, and half the people want him to be eased in slowly. Which is it? Or do you give away a whole bunch of draft picks and go after Cousins or some other known quantity who is perceived to be better than TT?
  14. The only reason I watch a Pats game is to see if somebody can lower the boom on Brady. It rarely happens. I never expect the Pats to lose, no matter who they are playing.
  15. If the Bills win a few more games and are in the playoff hunt in week 16 or 17, then MAYBE you see if he can help, otherwise let him get healthy. Just like Benjamin, I think it may turn out to be in everyone's best interest to let him heal and see what we have next year.
  16. How do the bookies figure out the line for most NFL teams this year? I feel as though there are so many unpredictable teams that a lot of money could be made by picking a few "upsets" each week.
  17. He seems to be TT's favorite target. Even when covered. Early in the season he was dropping balls he should have caught. Now he's getting to be pretty reliable. He has to learn to drag his toe as he is going out of bounds. I hope that today will provide a learning experience for him after he sees the video. I want to root for the kid because he's from the American Athletic Conference. That's a group of misfit schools that try to be good at both football and basketball but mostly aren't elite in either sport.
  18. That call will be a meme for a long time. That ref just made himself infamous. He must be very glad the Bills won.
  19. Good read. Thanks for posting. Your title gives it away. You didn't leave us in suspense. You give major props to Richie and Kyle. Two old guys. That's worrisome.
  20. All of the above, along with over dependence on LBs. I don't know if LBs exist that can defend against the pass and also stop the run the way this defense is designed. I don't know much about the intricacies of LB play, but it seems to me that they are critical cogs and the Bills don't have guys who can do everything that is being asked of them. Heaven forbid the coaches revise their scheme to suit the guys they have instead of the mythical guys they want.
  21. I hope they don't lose on purpose to move the Bills later in the draft. It would be truly evil if they did. Of course, I always picture Belichick as the Emperor from Star Wars, so truly evil is a possibility.
  22. The Pats may have clinched everything by the last game, so they may play their scrubs. Doesn't mean they won't win, but it may not be a thumping. OTOH, if they need the win to get home field advantage for the playoffs, it will be a thumping of epic proportion. If they have clinched everything, they could let the Bills win just to move the Bills later in the draft.
  23. A lot of people are down on Preston. I like him, he's smart and a professional. But he's a tweener. Not quick enough for pass defense, not big enough for a run thumper. Maybe he should be moved to Will. I assume LB will be a second or third priority for the next draft. I hope that gets them the guy they need.
  24. The Chargers ran a lot of short slant passing routes. That becomes the responsibility of the LB. That is a mismatch, and 90% of the time it works every time. I'm not sure why the LBs can stop the run. Maybe their poor pass coverage is messing with their heads and then they are a step too slow to fill the gaps and stop the runs.
