  1. I find that the weather forecasts on Spectrum news out of Syracuse are the best in the area for predicting lake effect snow. That doesn’t help for Buffalo, obviously.
  2. In Utica certain parts of town used to identfy with certain ethnicities. East Utica was Italian, West Utica was Polish, etc. Now it’s pretty much a melting pot, but some of the older traditions are still intact for certain neighborhoods.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out. I skipped over it somehow. And they picked a good place to get them.
  4. In a Fitzpatrick jersey? He had nothing to do with four in a row.
  5. There was an ongoing thread for a while, if you feel like going through 19 pages....
  6. I don’t know if I say good bye or not. My brain is on autopilot for that kind of thing. Now I will be self conscious and fretting over it. I don’t need that kind of pressure in my life.
  7. You are there before Memorial Day. Smart move. Like many other vacation destinations, it is MUCH more crowded between Memorial Day and Labor Day. It’s great in September as well, possibly even better since the plant life is still going strong, but the crowds have thinned out. Inland it’s a lot like the Adirondacks, but the Maine coast is fantastic.
  8. Landry Jones was AWFUL when Ben was out. The Steelers needed to address that as a problem. The Steelers are smart to think that if Ben is hurt for a few games, they will need somebody. And he seems to get hurt more often as he gets older. Even if Ben can play for a few more years, they should address the need for his eventual replacement. The idea that even a top pick can benefit from watching and learning is wise. Heck, maybe they should have moved up to get somebody better.
  9. havent heard this in a while. “...feel so bad, feel like a ballgame on a rainy day...” what a great opening.
  10. With awesome beard, plays with his wedding ring on, and has great neighborhood parties. Also, accurate, strong arm, doesn’t throw red zone interceptions when the game is close and time is running out.
  11. I don’t think I would eat there, but I want the T-shirt.
  12. Leaking the audio could be part of the unexplained “other” infractions. It would also prompt an NFL investigation, but not an NHL investigation.
  13. The QB gets crazy big bucks. Then they can’t afford stars at several other positions. Such as the O line. Then what happens? I feel as though the Pats winning streak is partly because they avoid this trap.
  14. I used to love MMQB but I think it’s been written by a team for the past few years. Not as entertaining as when he did the whole thing by himself. I liked some of his off topic stories, but I’m probably in the minority.
  15. Alfred Hitchcock’s version...Strangers on a Train or Danny DeVito...Throw Momma from the Train
  16. Dang. You guys sound like you have high falutin jobs. I rose to the level of front line manager about 20 years ago, and for the past ten years I’ve been able to be the old guy who just does what he wants. I haven’t made as much as I could have, but I haven’t worried about work for several years. And I enjoy the company of everyone at work who I choose to associate with.
  17. Going on 33 years for me. Why is it that it’s referred to as “my wife’s wedding anniversary” when we were actually both involved? I am on the hook to get her something, but it’s optional for her to get me something.
  18. I looked up the spelling when I typed in that response, and I still misspelled it. They say the legs are the first things to go; I wonder how far down the list simple observations like proper spelling would be. Or maybe... I’m an idiot.
  19. Much of the required reading when I was in junior or senior high focused on distopian views of the future. There is probably some hidden (or not hidden) agenda regarding anti communist or pro socialist or anti capitalist or some other socio-political message involved with many of the books.
  20. My teenage crush... Yeoman Janice Rand which reminds me of being master of my own domain (or not), which reminds me of another favorite character (for entirely different reasons)
