Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions is a book by Ben Mezrich about a group of MIT card counters commonly known as the MIT Blackjack Team.
I’ve heard this argument many times. I paid off my house a few years ago, but I don’t pay cash for cars. Those zero interest car loans are too good to pass up, even for a person as debt averse and nervous as I am.
Next year Beane will have a ton of draft picks and a ton of money. That will be his chance to build a winning team. I have very little faith that he will choose and spend wisely. Am I a pessimist or a realist?
Where’s @Bocephuz?
I always enjoyed his informal, non-expert, highly informative, complete, and easy to follow breakdowns of line play.
No sarcasm intended. I’m being serious.
My friends at work are asking if I’m going to “do a Vontae.”
They all know I’m going to retire in the spring, and they’re wondering if I’ll wait until there’s an all-day meeting with a customer, and I’ll go out to lunch and never come back.
Sounds like a plan!
He has to get the internal clock going and learn to throw it away.
He has to learn that if the sack looks likely, throw it away.
A rookie attitude that he can make something happen, when he would be better off throwing it away.
I think after about four weeks he gets hit a few times, he gets tired, his arm gives out, and then bad things happen. He’s perfect for the situation he’s in right now.
When my daughter was going to school in Ithaca we used to like to eat lunch at the brewery. My wife loved their cheddar ale soup. I think that’s why we ended up there so often.
Eggplant seems like it would be healthy, but it actually has very litttle nutritional value.
Some people say you should salt it and let it sweat and then dry it to make it less bitter. Other people say that isn’t necessary.
Eggplant parm isn’t one of my favorites, but it ain’t bad. I’ll eat it if it’s offered to me. I probably wouldn’t order it at a restaurant unless there’s nothing else on the menu that looks good. I’ve never eaten at Moosewood in Ithaca, but I may prefer it over a lot of the things they offer. My wife has been known to order eggplant parm even though there are other things on the menu that look better to me.
