  1. Rings. The ability to elevate the talent around you. Being the best at your position for multiple years. They don't just let anyone in. Don't apologize to him. He did nothing of the sort. He proved nothing. Even a quick look at college football reference shows exactly the type of quarterback that Peterman is... A future insurance salesman.
  2. And you were proven wrong. Congrats. ROFL. Do explain.
  3. He didn't pass for more than 3,000 yards in ANY season. That's incredible in college football. 2015 - 2,287 yards 2016 - 2,855 yards Pitt offense: 2015 pass attempts - 26.4 2015 rush attempts - 39.2 2016 pass attempts - 24.9 2016 rush attempts - 41.7 Can we get real now? That's a run first team with James Connor at the helm. They did everything that they could to hide Peterman. Even in college. Just stop.
  4. The literal WORST bad half of all time. If he were maybe a higher draft pick with more upside I could be more forgiving but what we're talking about is a guy who never elevated his offense even in college and was THE definition of a tire fire meeting a trainwreck in one half of football. As far as Taylor goes, I wish people wouldn't be so quick to draw their proverbial line in the sand and would understand context. Anyone who advocates for Dennison while simultaneously blaming Taylor has no idea what they're watching IMO.
  5. You may or may not fall into this category but I've seen a ton of posters mistake a teams win loss record and attribute said win/loss record to one player.... Tyrod Taylor. Can't have it both ways. Brees has 1 winning season since 2011. On Bills message boards, those wins and losses are ALL on the QB.
  6. You proved he had a bad game. As did the entire team. The Saints possessed the ball for 41:23 of that game. They ran the ball 48 times for 298 yards and 6 TDs. Context man. Context.
  7. Pure hyperbole and nothing to back it up statistically.
  8. My man!! I can see you share my passion for the intricacies of football. Everything from route concepts, to blocking schemes, gap assignments, to pocket mobilty, to technique, to leverage and how a player creates leverage and on and on and on. Excellent. I love having deeper discussions about football. Discussions beyond "he stinks, nah dude".
  9. That's why I love a team with youth. They don't care about what happened before they were here. It makes no difference to them. They're to young and brash to care. It's awesome. Wish he would've said "I ain't afraid of no G.O.A.T"
  10. Absolutely. There is not a single sport in the world that takes more cohesion from more moving parts than football. Which is why it really is the greatest game. The chess match between coaches, the schemes and their personnel make it the most intriguing and hard to quantify sport in the world. To lay blame or praise on one player, the way that people lay blame or praise on a QB, this QB in particular is unreal to me. What? Uh no. Don't know JM. You say to hide deficiencies while I say to accentuate strengths. He is a dual-threat quarterback. There is no need to neuter his game to appease fans who play too much Madden and are only looking for video game passing and touchdown numbers.
  11. And Wilson had one of the best defenses in football and had a superb running game when he went to both Super Bowls. You nailed it with Ben and as far as Brees the dude has literally ONE winning season since 2011. It's a team game. If Taylor would've had the offense from the last two seasons as well as a historically great defense like Wilson had, the Bills would've certainly broken the playoff curse and I guarantee we wouldn't be having this discussion about whether he is a good QB or not (he is).
  12. Ok so why not take into account Taylor's rushing yardage and his 4/1 TD/INT ratio? 1450 yards rushing since becoming the starter and 63 touchdowns (rushing and passing) to 15 interceptions? Anyone who disregards these numbers has a clear agenda IMO.
  13. Your list is flawed. There are ONLY two QBs who make their teammates actually better. Brees has only 1 season with an above.500 record since 2011. Only ONE. The rest of the guys I can easily make arguments for why they aren't in the Brady/Rodgers stratosphere.
  14. Yards and TD's thrown are your only barometer of QB success huh? Taylor is a dual-threat QB and I find it absurd when his rushing statistics are discarded as well as his proficiency to not turn the ball over. Taylor leads the entire league in rushing yards from the quarterback position since the time he was a starter. He also has an excellent 4/1 TD/INT ratio in his time here. Why all that is glossed over is beyond me?
  15. So name the guys who transcend their offenses (Brady/Rodgers) and make everyone around them better. Good luck. He is better than top 15 but even if you want to label him as top 15, that's better than half the league. Wow. It's the ultimate team game. It never comes down to just one player and I'm not confident that most fans understand this. Shady was able to do what he did because of the threat of Taylor and his legs as well as the offensive line playing in a comfortable scheme that was suited for their abilities. Do you understand what I mean when I say that Taylor forces defenses to play 11 on 11?
  16. Taylor led a top 10 offense (DVOA) the past two seasons. To say that he hasn't proven that he is better than average is wrong on every level.
  17. You're debating skills are top notch. Care to explain what you mean as opposed to leaving an unfounded quip?
  18. You can't be serious about Peterman. He is quite literally the worst QB statistically in one half of a game all time. There is nothing else to see there. You do realize Taylor was the backup to a Super Bowl winning QB? That's why he wasn't playing. I mean you do understand that right?
  19. Mike Tanier is as good of a football writer as there is on the planet. He has written for football outsiders which is hands down the best analytics site in the NFL world. To discredit him is simply doing yourself an injustice. I get the narrative though, if you agree with "football writer X" he speaks the truth, if you do not agree with him, he knows nothing and fans will stretch with all their might to discredit him. I've been saying since I joined the board that Dennison runs an antiquated offense and his ultra conservative game plans hinder not only Taylor but the whole of the Bills offense. Why McD thought handing the reigns to the opposite side of the ball that he specializes in to Dennison was a good idea, I'll never know. Dennison is a man who has never called his own plays in games and has only ever been a defacto OC, an OC in name only. Tyrod Taylor is not a transcendent QB, but there only 2 of those guys in the entire NFL. What Taylor is, is a quarterback that can run an NFL level offense proficiently, make teams play 11 on 11 and allows a team to build the other 52 players on the roster because you can be confident that he is a good player. Only in Buffalo is he unappreciated. I assure you that the national narrative is much different. Especially when looking at advanced analytics as everyone in 2017 should do.
  20. Please explain how the low turnover rate and Taylor's rushing ability are "misleading".
  21. Good thing you're not in charge of these things considering you're unaware of how actual NFL offense and the structure of an offense work.
  22. Too many times too many people get enamored with Big 12 QBs. Between putting up huge numbers in an offense designed to put up huge numbers in college (Air Raid) and QBs not taking snaps from under center, it's no surprise that Big 12 QBs fizzle out consistently. Here is a novel idea, keep Tyrod and use those 5 premium picks to build around him.
  23. The teams we've beat have a combined 29-37 record. Only 2 of those teams have a winning record currently (Falcons and Chiefs). If we didn't have a QB that was as good as Taylor is, we would be the team everyone projected us to be in the preseason.
  24. The only reason this team had such a low preseason projection was because the same Coach and GM that you speak so highly of gutted the roster of all the best players. I'd be happy to wax philosophical about the failings of the current regime of which there have already been many in their short time in charge.
  25. Preseason prognostications mean very little. Teams every single year either over shoot or under shoot their projections. The Bills had a top 10 offense for the past 2 seasons. All the new coach had to do was fix the defense by going back to a 43 base. Literally every coach interviewed would have made that change. The offense has regressed because of the level of talent around the QB, the poor play calling and the unnecessary offensive scheme change. If Anthony Lynn would have been offered the job, this team is probably 8-3 at worst right now.
