I’m not upset. I think McKenzie is better in games.

Lack of talent on offense is worrying. Good luck Allen
Dkollidas replied to XABI64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would you be happier if we had Sammy instead of Brown? Because they’re basically the same player... John Brown last 3yrs: 102rec 1531yds 15.00ypc 10TD’s Sammy Watkins last 3yrs: 107rec 1542 14.4ypc 13TD’s -
I google “Playerfm, locked on bills”. It’s hosted by Joe Marino from “the draft network”. He does little 1/2 hour to 45 minute segments and usually puts out 2-4 per week. But they’re Bills specific with a touch of league news.

is Brown REALLY much better then Jones?
Dkollidas replied to macaroni's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Brown is that much better. I think if healthy he has the ability to be a Watkins level player. Just look at Brown vs. Watkins past three seasons: John Brown last 3yrs: 102rec 1531yds 15.00ypc 10TD’s Sammy Watkins last 3yrs: 107rec 1542 14.4ypc 13TD’s They’re both very similar players except to me Brown creates his own space with speed, while Watkins needs to be put into space and can create opportunities in that space. I’ll take Brown over Watkins as well. Also, both only have one 1,000yd season. -
I’m sure no one does anything that isn’t completely sanctioned by the league. They’re friends. They could’ve been at the combine and chatting and said “I like that guy”, and responded “yup, he’s gonna be a player, might even spend a 2nd Round Pick on a guy like that”. Not saying it did happen, but I wouldn’t see it as impossible Bad choice of words on my part, didn’t mean to say that they should expect a top-15 Pick, I was just using a random draft spot as an example.

I understand that Beane was not here for the first draft. That being said, I assume since he was hired only weeks later and McDermott basically ran the draft, that they at least spoke on a basic level of which players they liked. I could also see them not having had the time (Beane being in Carolina, who had Newton), and McDermott only just being hired a couple months earlier, to really trust themselves selecting a QB in 2017. Therefore, McDermott did the prudent thing, moved down, got more picks, took a solid player at a position that was viewed strongly (Lattimore and Jamal Adams also taken along with Tre White that year), and stockpiled for what was expected to be a very talented 2018 QB class. When the 2018 draft comes along, after an off-season if clearing out old players and bringing in new, two of the clearest positional needs for Buffalo are QB, and LB. Again, this draft was very strong at those two positions and they were able to get good prospects early to fill key positions. This off-season Beane and McDermott (strategically, in my opinion) went through the off-season, got depth at DB, addressed glaring weaknesses at OL and WR, and filled depth at RB. The one glaring hole was at DT with the retirement of Kyle Williams. Not coincidentally... this year’s draft was regarded as one of the strongest defensive line (specifically on the interior) drafts to have come along in years. Looking to next season and our needs, I could see our main needs being a defensive end (Murphy is an injury question, Hughes is old, Shaq could be gone and Darryl Johnson is nice, but he’s a project) and Wide Receiver. Funny thing is, if you look around at where next year’s draft is strongest... Wide Receiver and Edge rusher. I don’t think this is all a coincidence. I think Beane is trying to line up his needs with what the draft is strong in. If he knows has a top-15 Pick, and he has a clear need at say, receiver, and there’s 6-7 projected first round receivers, he can likely go after other needs in free agency, and use picks to move up if necessary to grab one of those guys that he likes. I honestly think that this is a real strategy, and I think it’s turning out to be a great strategy.

Report: NFL owners pitch 18-game schedule
Dkollidas replied to nucci's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it was up to me, I’d cut the pre-season down to 2 games, but add two playoff teams to each conference. Start the regular season two weeks earlier, and then when the playoffs come around each conference does 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5 bracket like NBA and NHL. 14 playoff games, 7 in each conference, before the super bowl, as opposed to the current setup which has 5 games in each conference before the super bowl. Adding 4 playoff games would significantly increase the appeal of TV deals, as well as give fan bases around the league more hope in their teams ability to 1) make the playoffs and 2) actually contend for a title. Personally the bye-week in the playoffs has always been too heavy an advantage for the teams that get it. And I understand they won more games, but sometimes a team that comes 2nd in a division can have the same record as the 2nd place team in the conference, but because the one team won its division it receives a bye week as well as home field advantage. To me that’s too large of a benefit to give a team in the playoffs. This would help revenue, and players wouldn’t be against it because it would make the road for everyone to a championship more accessible along with getting rid of useless preseason games in exchange for meaningful playoff games. -
Is anybody else having anxiety about game one?
Dkollidas replied to billsredneck1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s gonna be a tough game. I think it comes down to who makes less mistakes, Darnold or Allen. Allen has had his share, but Darnold was no slouch either last season. It’ll be a tight game. -
Biggest Remaining Roster Questions
Dkollidas replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m a big fan of Dean Marlowe’s game. But we just have too much talent & drafted investment (Joquan Johnson) in the secondary to keep him. Unfortunately I think he’ll be cut, but I have no idea how he’s not on another roster in this league. To me he’s a borderline starter. Whenever he’s out there, regular season or pre-season, he’s making big plays. Hits picks etc, he’s always around the ball trying to make things happen. That being said, we have enough talent in our defensive backfield that I’d rather keep other positions (DE, WR) heavier than safety, especially if the keep Neal, who is basically a slot corner/safety hybrid. -

Group Chat: Your takes on the Offense tonight
Dkollidas replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He does, and it was. I’m hoping it was just him saying it “eh... F**k it!!!! Preseason!!!!!” Run game looked solid though, if we can put tonight’s running with last weeks passing, we’ll be very good on offense. And honestly i think they'll be doing a lot of throwing from spread and more shotgun. Josh looks way way more comfortable in shotgun. -
Joe Marino has a podcast he does about 2-4 days per week, even during the dog days of summer. They’re only about a half hour each, but they’re pretty solid. I always look for it on “playerfm”, the “locked on bills” podcast.

I think he might make the 53. He can play center and tackle. With Nsekhe/Morse hurting, he’s a guy that can fill in at either spot. Plenty of offensive linemen go undrafted or get drafted very only to become solid starters once their technique is refined for NFL play as opposed to college. My O-Line Right Now: LT- Dawkins/Bates LG- Spain/Teller C- Morse RG- Feliciano/Long RT- Ford/Nsekhe Probably would’ve been Waddle in Bates’ spot. But I believe they send Boettger to PS, and roll with these 9. If Morse and Nsekhe are still out, you could go with Dawkins-Spain-Feliciano-Long-Ford and still have Teller and Bates as your primary backups. Not a terrible position to be in.

Can Christian Wade be the 53 man roster this year
Dkollidas replied to FLBillsGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your 4th running back spot/special teamer isn’t something worth taking a gamble on? I think in limited viewings Wade has shown that his speed and agility are at an elite level. That alone should give him a good shot at the 53. If he can do this over next two pre-season games, I would think they’d have to at least give him strong considerations for the 53-man roster. -
I think Beasley is a suped up version of what McKenzie gave him last season as an intermediate option that could get open. Beasley is going to be his safety valve. When Knox gets healthy, him and Sweeney will also provide a bit of that. You could see they wanted to try working the short to intermediate game because everyone knows the deep ball is already there. He seems to be coming along long nicely and having Brown, Beasley, Knox, Sweeney and Singeltary as new options in the pass game will benefit him greatly.

Clowney Trending for some reason.
Dkollidas replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could also argue that they were hurt by having a bad offense that often put them in bad field position throughout the season. There’s always a flip side, but I think the defense was very good last year. I do think the one thing they’re missing is an elite pass rusher. But I agree with you that Clowney is not it. Also, Hughes may not have put up huge sack #’s, but he did put up great pressure numbers and was amongst the top players in the league. I think adding Oliver and having Murphy healthy will be a big deal for the pass rush. Lastly, I believe Darryl Johnson could become a player. Small school guy who put up very good numbers there and has elite size for the DE position while still having good speed & burst (especially considering the size/length he carries). I honestly think they'll look to draft there and wide receiver early on next year. -
10 Personnel... simply due to lack of TEs or a thing?
Dkollidas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they plan on using it. Spread the field, give Allen better vision of the field, forces the defense to spread, and Allen is more able to use his legs to take easy runs in those situations -
Mitch Morse in concussion protocol
Dkollidas replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any idea of what centers could be available if they don’t like what they get from Long/Feliciano? I don’t think they would but who knows. I think if this does become a longer term issue, they move Ford to Guard to strengthen the interior, Nsekhe to RT, and then Feliciano and Long battle for center. I don’t think Bodine sticks around regardless. He’s maybe our 6th best interior lineman (Morse, Spain, Long, Feliciano, Teller). I’m just happy because I feel like they have the depth to make up for his loss at least for a short time. I also think Feliciano could be a dark horse for the starting center gig. -
Oh man, if he plays... it’s gonna be great. AB screaming at him after his 3rd INT. Can’t wait.

Prediction: Bills Will Keep ALL their RBs
Dkollidas replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCoy Gore Singletary Perry will be the 4 RB’s Yeldon will be cut DiMarco? Depends on what they do at tight end. Could see Sweeney replacing him. -
I don’t know. It’s a personal preference. But if I was in that situation I would just keep going to work, handle my business. I think companies appreciate that moreso than this kind of stuff. Really what he should do if if he wants the money is hold out, they aren’t going to be very good in my opinion, and he can blame that on them not paying him. I just don’t think this goes a long way towards building a relationship and getting a contract done.
