  1. I think Henry will be expensive and will stay in Tennessee. Howard could be a nice option. I wouldn’t count out Gore coming back. i also wouldn’t count out signing a veteran who’s a receiving type and draft a pounder late in the draft (AJ Dillon Round 5?)
  2. I believe so as well. He has a unique skill set. And they’ve definitely shown a penchant, especially on defense, to find guys who fit their scheme. I believe Shenault would be s step in that direction for the offense.
  3. Sign him. 4yr deal. If he plays it out that $ will be converted to Oliver anyways when he gets an extension after his rookie deal.
  4. I think regarding positions of need: 1) RT- can be addressed in free agency cheaply. And we did invest in Ford, who I believe the team wants to give time to develop into the long term RT. I get wanting to add depth, but if you look st the analytics for our blocking we actually grade fairly decent. I think another off-season together will also help this group really gain some chemistry/cohesion. 2) DT- I believe Liuget was a solid add-on. Having Harrison Phillips come back next year will help greatly against the run. Oliver is developing and Jordan Phillips seems to be turning into a real player. I don’t see this as a position of need. Star struggles at times, but this defense as a whole is set up to stop the pass, and I’d rather worry about that in the league today. 3) OLB- Alexander probably retires after this season. But he’s definitely lost a step this season compared to how he’s played in years past. I think Milano is a legit player, and Thompson adds solid depth. Vosean Joseph will also be back next season as well to further bolster the depth at linebacker. Also, they usually run a lot of nickel, so having a 3rd OLB isn’t my biggest concern. Could also see them going after a guy like Vic Beasley in free agency to try to play that spot. 4) DE- this I agree is an issue. But we have Hughes coming back next year. Shaq will probably rest free agency and leave, but that’s not a huge loss, he’s solid but unspectacular. Honestly I could see them parting ways with Murphy, who has been a disappointment and going after a quality free agent (Clowney, Ngakoue, Ansah, Leonard Williams, etc.). We also have Darryl Johnson as deoth, along with Mike Love who is either on Practice Squad or IR, (I honestly can’t remember). Regardless of the teams I mentioned I think New England is the only one with a worse group of offensive weapons than ours. New Orleans has arguably the best receiver in the game. Green Bay has Adams who’s a legit #1 option that can command 10+ targets/game. I really like John Brown, but he’s not there yet. Baltimore is far deeper than us, and used their 1st round pick on an explosive offensive weapon in Marquise Brown and they run a very different scheme that uses all 3 of their tight ends. I would argue the 49’ers are also much deeper with Kittle being joined by Sanders as well. Also, please understand I’m not saying not to continue investing in the trenches. I just believe a top end receiver could really open things up for the offense and their playcalling/scheming. With a multitude of extra late picks this year (two 5th’s and three 6th’s) I believe they’ll be able to add depth to both trenches in the later rounds. Also, I’m usually more in favor of a BPA approach to the early part of the draft. This year is particularly strong for Wide Receivers. This would incline me towards one of those players as well.
  5. Yea that’s why you gotta use data and watch the game/film. Both can be misleading in their own at times. Much better when used in concert with one another to come to a better conclusion about s players performance.
  6. I don’t think it’s Daboll’s fault. None of those guys have made plays and taken the position. We need a WR2, and a WR4. Our deoth chart next year at WR should be 1. Brown/Acquisition 2. Acquisition/Brown 3. Beasley 4. FA/Draft Pick 5. McKenzie 6. Roberts they need to get two guys. Either draft both, get one in the draft and one as a free agent, or whatever. But even with the addition of Brown & Beasley the position is still lacking a starter and another depth option.
  7. I think he fits our scheme better. He’s played as a wildcat QB, running back, in the slot, outside, etc. basically everywhere. He’s also 6’2” 215-220. He’s elusive yet big, and Daboll wants a scheme that can be very multiple, so he’d be s great addition to that I believe. Depending who you play each week you can line him up differently to try to attack the opponents weakness.
  8. I dont think they have enough on offense to contend with Baltimore, New England, New Orleans, Green Bay and San Francisco’s of the league. I like Knox a lot, and Beasley is solid, but they need an outside weapon. Right now they have Brown on the outside on one side, then a bunch of inside & underneath options with Knox, Kroft, Beasley, Singletary and McKenzie. They need a guy who can play as a true Outside option opposite Brown to help spread the defense horizontally.
  9. I think there’s a major gap between Brown & Beasley. Zay obviously wasn’t the answer. Duke Williams hasn’t been terrible but to me isn’t the answer. He’s too slow to do the things they want to do to run such a multiple offensive scheme. And McKenzie is a great little gadget guy, and solid backup for the slot position, but they need another outside guy big time. Foster is not the answer out there that many of us hoped either. Whether 1st or 2nd Round, or free agency or trade, I do believe it’s a position that must be addressed. Right now you can double John Brown, throw another corner on Beasley, and we can be stopped. Knox and Singletary are nice options, but they’re still too early in their development, and we need someone who can work the outside of the field, spread the defense horizontally opposite Brown.
  10. I would say to exclude Jeudy/Lamb/Ruggs, just bc I doubt they’ll be available when we pick. But I wonder specifically about Higgins & Shenault as they’re the two 1st round caliber receivers most likely to be available when we draft.
  11. Miami is bad. Terribly bad. But I think we saw today that what this team needs more than anything is a game breaker on offense. Brown is a really nice piece. He’s a borderline #1 right now. Singletary may just become a talented lead back who can make place running and receiving. Beasley is solid in the slot. Knox has had his drops and miscues, but overall seems to be progressing. The O-Line as a whole seems to be properly gelling. The defense has been spectacular. And it seems they may have addressed the run problem with Liuget (or at least helped limit it). The only real concern for the defense is edge pressure, which has been decent, but unspectacular. But even so, they manage to manufacture pressure while limiting their blitzing. To me the main piece we still need is a legit #1 receiver. Hopefully they do it in the draft, and get a young player that can develop alongside Allen. If they do manage to get him a legit #1 WR, I think he, and his numbers, and the offense and team as a whole, would benefit moreso than any addition to the team.
  12. Sullivan is a hack. Mid you don’t see the difference between a raw 23 year old and a fully developed 28 year old... that’s on you. I’ll take the chance we took on Allen over what Tyrod brought, any day.
  13. I feel like there’s so much context with these things, and as an employer, when stuff like this happens, and it’s someone who’s been with you for a while and they’re dependable, and for some reason they don’t call or show, you call or shoot them a text “hey, everything ok? Did you know you were supposed to be here?” Yes, they should know they’re supposed to be there, yes they should call, but life can be sh*t and life happens a lot, to all of us. And then to post the fine on a board like that for everyone to see... petty. I just don’t think Douglas/Gase carry themselves properly for leading any organization (whether it be the Jets, your local Walmart, or a neighborhood diner).
  14. I really like Garrett as a player, and from what I’ve seen he’s a good guy off the field as well. Never hear his name come up like that. But this?!?!?!? That has to be a suspension of at least be the rest of this season (playoffs included if they somehow make it), and then however many games next year to make it 16 total. He legitimately could have killed Mason Rudolph. If that was on the street he’d be doing a couple years in prison.
  15. I think they can but it’s tough because of a few factors: 1) Allen’s “rawness”- you can see it in spurts. Last season he showed flashes like the Minnesota game, mostly on the ground. Then he started hitting big plays through the air after he came back from injury. This year his short game has improved, but the mistakes were still there. The past 4 games he’s cut down his critical errors but is unable to hit the deep ball. I think a lot of it is him just overcompensating in certain areas and it might take another off-season, gaining some more chemistry, and some added weapons to make that happen. 2) Chemistry: this may actually work in their favor. But at this point this group hasn’t had a lot of time together. The only starters from last season are Allen & Dawkins. That’s a major overhaul. The O-Line is still gelling. Allen is still learning tendencies of his receivers and vice versa. Singletary is still adjusting to the NFL, and was stagnated from his injury. 3) Lack of talent: Brown has been a pleasant addition, and Beasley is decent. But while Singeltary shows flashes and the TE’s are a constant work in progress. This team, and Allen in particular, could really use a #1 receiver, particularly a bigger, speedy target who can win those contested catch battles. I’d love to see them draft a Tee Higgins or Laviska Shenault. But there are reasons for hope: 1) Allen is still developing- this week may have been a lesson for him that he still needs to take some risks. He’s been very vanilla since the New England game. I get it, he knows he has a good defense and wants to limit errors. But he needs to let it loose as well. 2) Singletary- he could be a key to opening the floodgates for this offense. He’s dynamic and seems to be s dynamic player who doesn’t often get negative plays either, which is s big bonus. 3) Chemistry- As i stated, this is one of the reasons for pessimism, but also one for optimism. Maybe the group hits s point where they aren’t killing drives with mental errors (pre-play penalties) or turnovers, but are still aggressive enough to make consistent plays.
  16. I just hope Liuget can provide some effective run stopping ability. Add s different wrinkle to that group similar to how Jordan Phillips has been for us.
  17. I think the analytics stuff is overstated in sports like Football & Hockey. There’s too many random variables to isolate a lot of what’s happening on any given play. Baseball is so much easier in terms of using analytics, just s simpler game. That being said, while I think they could use another guy on the edge (I’m not a Murphy fan, and Hughes is getting towards the end of his road), they get pressure, but not a ton of sacks. I wonder if that’s partially because we cover so well?
  18. A Wide Receiver in Round 1. Shenault/Higgins/Davonte Smith even after today, idc. I just want a guy who we can project as a potential WR1 to pair with Brown. My money would be on Shenault becoming the best player out of those, but that’s me. I persinally think Jeudy, Ruggs, and Lamb will he gone by the time we pick (hopefully mid to late 20’s).
  19. I don’t think he’ll be a big target for the Bills. Unless he comes in at the right price. He seems like a “process” type of guy, but I think they’ll want to go after a #1 for Allen in the draft. This is the year to do it. And they have a bit of ammo to move up if they like anyone in particular (I think it’ll be between Shenault & Higgins in the 1st)
  20. Does the league really believe players would sign up to play for a team located in London? 1) living on a different continent let alone another country. 2) the travel the London players would have to make (imagine flying from London for s game IN San Francisco/Los Angeles/Seattle) 3) Zero fan base at all. Lack of knowledge of the sport among the fans. i think they’d be overpaying for less value just to get guys to play there, as well as being stuck with not having premier players interested in signing with them. I could see it going as far as draft eligible players telling the London team not to pick them bc the player would hold out if they were selected by London.
  21. He’ll get a nice deal and they’ll cut Star after the 2020 season imo.
  22. I think the problem is the organizational structure. Same as the Jets, same as the Redskins. When McDermott was hired he came in and was allowed to be the head of the organization. He had enough experience, an innate ability to lead a group of men (and come on, these guys are all intense, type A, world class athletes, who have dominated at every level of competition their whole lives), and a knowledge of how to structure the coaching staff and who he wanted to run management as well. The Browns with Kitchens, Jets with Gase and Redskins with... well, who the hell knows, don’t seem to have the same structure. They bring guys in based more on raw talent, disregarding scheme fit, and don’t know how to handle their players in the proper fashion. The Bills have gotten their players to “buy in”, that is the most important thing. They all have the same vision for where they want the team to go.
  23. I’d love to see them get either or both of a WR and DT. Doesn’t have to be AJ Green or Geno Atkins type players, but if they can, that’d be great. I’m hoping for something like Billings as a DT, and Davante Parker at WR.
  24. Very nicely thought out and written. I agree with most of what you’ve said. I think Allen could really benefit from another receiving option. Brown is a great #2, and Beasley is a solid slot option, but they need a go-to #1 option for him.
  25. I don’t see where he’d go. I think if he wins another, he’ll have set himself up to retire nicely. Show Belichick that Brady himself was more the reason they won as opposed to the coaching. But i I still don’t see him actually retiring. He’s ridiculous. Iwhat he’s done is truly amazing
