2nd/3rd Tier Draft Wide Reciever Rankings
Dkollidas replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And I also think it’s very fluid. After the combine guys will move around, and after their pro days they’ll move around again. But right now in most mocks ive seen, there’s a tier of Jeudy/Lamb, then there’s Ruggs III, and then usually Shenault/Higgins after that. -
2nd/3rd Tier Draft Wide Reciever Rankings
Dkollidas replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean if you look at mock drafts I would say 85-90 percent have those 5 guys as the first 5 off the board. I understand that’s not GM opinions or that of all fans, but in terms of the professional mock draft community (TDN, ESPN, Etc) those are the top 5 -
I was wondering how everyone ranks the wide receivers outside of the “consensus” top-5 they are projected to go in the 2nd’ish round. Top-5 are: Jeudy Lamb Ruggs III Shenault Higgins I feel like the next group consists of the following: Reagor Jefferson Aiyuk Hamlin Mims Peoples-Jones Edwards Pittman Jr How would You rank those 8 receivers that come after the initial 5?

I’m so split on Shenault or an edge. I would say if Shenault is there with Epeness or Chaisson, I go edge. If both those guys are gone and you’re looking at Gross-Matos or Shenault, I take Shenault. I just think his fit and upside in this offense, along with this organizations seeming proficiency to deal with “injury prone” players (John Brown, Mitch Morse as examples), is perfect. I think it would allow Daboll to really show off some creativity.

Sign One, Trade One, Draft One, GO!
Dkollidas replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sign: Kamalei Correa- I believe he’ll be an inexpensive answer to some of the versatility Lorenzo gave us. He really came on at the end of the year. He’s younger, cheaper and I believe could give similar production as a guy like Van Noy. Draft: AJ Epenesa- I think he’ll fit really well in this scheme. Epenesa will be perfect at setting the edge and then using his power to work inside as well. I think he’d be a McDermott favorite. Trade: AJ Green- Getting Green gives Allen a chance at a legit top-10 WR if he can stay healthy. It would probably only take a 2021 3rd Rounder to the Bengals. -
Basically like the interview scene in step brothers, except in this version, you’re the Bills, and you have to sign a free agent, trade for a player (either a player still on contract or a hypothetical where a free agent that gets tagged and traded, i.e. Matt Judon/AJ Green), and the one player you want drafted (any round, but preferably someone who would be available at 22.

2020 mock drafts/ fanspeak/ draft network
Dkollidas replied to ScorpionZero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more I look at it the more I want to go after an edge player in round one. The drop off in talent from 22 54 at Edge is steeper than what it will be at receiver. I see about 14 guys I’d be happy with getting in the first two rounds at receiver. 3-4 will likely be gone at 22, meaning there will be 10-11 left between 22-54. So some of those guys will likely still be there at 54. At edge I think there’s about 9 guys who could go in the top 2 rounds, 2-3 will likely be taken before 22, so by the time we pick at 22 only 6 or 7 will be left so get to 54. A lot obviously depends on what happens with free agency. But I do believe the depth of this class does push down the need to go receiver in round 1. -
MLJ doesn’t even take the time to realize Wallace is an ERFA, and is basically 100% going to be in Buffalo in 2020. I see the idea as everyone does. I think this might be one of those things Beane talked about in a presser basically talking the coaches out of certain guys because they know the guy personally or his coaches etc and to look at the film and see the player.

Trade for David Johnson?
Dkollidas replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way. Way too many players available either via free agency or draft that provide more than he does. And way way way cheaper. -
One of their guys was on WGR today or yesterday. And they just seem to absolutely refuse any argument over data. I understand using analytics and the whole Sabrmetrics thing when it comes to baseball. There’s so many less variables. Even hockey has less variables. But football just has so many different variables. I mean for a QB, his stats are based on 10other guys on the field with him at the same time. His coaches competency. And the schemes fit with regard to his skill set. And that’s just the beginning. I understand the desire to look for clues using the data you can get. It’s smart. But don’t let it take away from the eye test.

I think the problem compared to listenbee is that he wasn’t allowed to heal and it became an issue. If Shenault has been resting, it could become a non-issue. The way they’ve handled guys like Gore and Lorenzo (age), along with Morse (concussions) and Brown (always seemed hurt before he got to Buffalo) and the money they’ve invested into their facilities... I’ve no doubt that they’ll know how much they want to risk on Shenault. Also, if they don’t take Shenault, I wonder if Antonio Gibson could be a later round poor man’s version of Shenault. Almost exactly the same size. He’s explosive, has played all over the formation for Memphis, also not a premier school, and could be seen as a bigger version of what McKenzie does. Can also be a return man on special teams, so he could backup Roberts so we don’t have to put Micah Hyde out as a return man.

Greg Olsen visiting Bills, Redskins, Seahawks
Dkollidas replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love that quote from Beane. I get that it might be a bit of lip service, but I think they understand that they need to give Josh more weapons. To me though, that’s the type of quote that makes me think more and more that they take Shenault if he’s there at 22. -
Two guys I think they could go after are Everson Griffen & Calais Campbell. Campbell is a bit long in the tooth at 34yrs old, but he’s a big guy, and Jacksonville will likely be looking to rework their cap 1) to save the franchise actual cash money. 2) to create some cap space in order to bring back Ngakoue, or at least tag him. Minnesota is also in a rough cap situation and basically has a team option on Griffen (according to Spotrac). They might just not pick it up and he could be a free agent. I could see Jacksonville looking to get a mid-late round pick for Campbell though.

I was just using examples. Yes I made a specific post about Jeffrey but wanted to expand upon players around the league. You’re welcome to your opinion that he won’t be moved by Philadelphia. At the same time, Jeffrey is one of many players whose name is out there as a potential trade candidate.
-
Myself as well. That’s why I’m curious of who people have heard is/will be available via cut or trade. I also believe this is the market Beane will attack most vigorously as opposed to top tier free agents.
-
Obviously we all know the big name free agents, Ngakoue, Cooper, Hooper, etc. What I want to look at here is who people are looking at for some low key additions. Either: 1) A trade candidate i.e. Stephon Diggs, or Alshon Jeffrey, or Ryan Kerrigan 2) guys who could be cut or have club options not picked up i.e. Everson Griffen, Carlos Dunlap or Calais Campbell.

Should Buffalo Trade for Alshon Jeffrey
Dkollidas replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea and if they cut him, it would be $26M in dead cap, a negative $10M in cap savings than if they traded him. Honestly I’m just going off speculation out there that he’s available for cheap. -
I also wonder if part of that was just using the strengths that McKenzie provided. I think Daboll is pretty flexible in what he does with the offense. They completely 180’ed from before Allen’s injury to after in 2018. A large part of that was the change in receivers from Benjamin and Holmes to Foster & McKenzie.

Should Buffalo Trade for Alshon Jeffrey
Dkollidas replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
https://94wip.radio.com/blogs/eliot-shorr-parks/4-possible-trade-destinations-for-alshon-jeffery I mean I’m just going off of speculation. If they trade him, which many think they’ll do to make room for new receivers, it’ll cost them less than it would to cut him. -
Looking at Shenault kind of reminds me of the Josh Allen analysis in a way. Colorado is not Wyoming, by any means, but it’s also not a powerhouse like Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, etc. Allen was the offense at Wyoming. Shenault was the offense at Colorado. Allen was asked to run a pro-style offense in college, which didn’t really suit his traits. He would’ve been much better in a spread, or an RPO, or basically any other offense in college. But he tried to make plays based on the calls the coaches decided to run. I see that with Shenault as well. Yes he didn’t have many catches received from 10yds or further out. But to me that’s less a knock on his ability to go for a deep ball or run routes than it is a knock on the Colorado offense that they can’t run more complex, long developing plays. Their offense was more based on quick developing plays because they knew that they could get the ball to Viska quickly and let him make a play, as opposed to letting the line try to hold up for Montez and then relying on Montez to make a a deeper pass. To me he’s like the Allen of WR’s. All the talent in the world, just needs to be developed. And while he’s had injuries, that also reminds me of Allen, you can be injured but not injury prone. And you can be hurt but still be tough on the field. Which I think both are. I also believe his “DNA” has Bills written all over it. Not to say the other receivers don’t, as I don’t know their stories as well. But Shenault’s father died while being side swiped on a thruway, while the rest of the family was in the vehicle. I believe he was about 10. Since then he’s let his hair grow in honor of his father and plays the game to honor his father. He not only loves the game but the game has a deep meaning for him personally. Tragedy unfortunately, often becomes the fuel that people need in their lives to drive them to greatness. I think Shenault is going OL to be great. Also, I believe the Cordarelle Pattersson comparisons aren’t overblown. I also think having experienced receivers like Brown & Beasley, who are both very good route runners, will help in the development of a player like Laviska. I have been hot and cold on the idea, and it depends on how free agency develops, but I think it’s smart to get Allen one or (preferably) two rookies to bring in and develop with him over the next few years before Brown and Beasley start to decline as they age.

I understand people want the shiny new toy... Amari Copper or AJ Green. But looking at that I believe that... 1) Cooper has spoken out about not really wanting to play in cold weather (has never played a game in snow and doesn’t want to) 2) Cincinnati has openly talked about tagging AJ Green, and he’s spoken about wanting to stay with the Bengals. I could see Beane going for a low risk move with Alshon Jeffrey, depending on how he checks out medically. He’s a solid big target, only has one year left on his current deal, would only cost us about $10M for the one year. Would add size and catch ability to the lineup. And it could be a thing like Miami trading for Talib from the Rams, where Buffalo trades something like two 6th round picks and gets Jeffrey and a 4th round pick or something like that.

Jags unlikely to allow Yannick Ngakoue to test FA
Dkollidas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to nitpick, but I think they actually save $20M just on Dareus. That alone gives them the money for Ngakoue. I could see him holding out so he doesn’t have to play for the team that’s playing two home games in London this year. But I’d have to think they’d get a 1st for him. And I’d rather not do that personally -
Bills announce price increases for 2020
Dkollidas replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t see how anyone can be upset with the pricing. I understand that it’s a big cost, but if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. That being said, $1200 or so for 100level center field... that’s a bargain. That’s $150 per game for really nice seats. If I could get Sunday’s off (I work in food service and Sunday mornings are our busiest days), I’d consider it.
