  1. Aside from the draft picks, there's Aiken. Got to figure out a way to keep this kid. I know, we have a lot of good, young receivers. But Aiken could prove to be special and I'd rather it be for the Bills.
  2. The fans will be on his case until he breaks one.
  3. Bob Hayes couldn't even start on his high school football team. Now he's in the HOF. It happens.
  4. Why all the constant ragging on Maybin? Yes he couldn't play, but it's not his fault he got picked so high. Blame Jauron and Modrak for the fiasco, not the loser LB.
  5. No, what a "student athlete."
  6. Suh is a great player. I'd take him in a second even if his hands were a bit soiled.
  7. Depending on how the OL plays, 2-2 is not a stretch. In fact, the OL is probably the key to the season.
  8. Back to "Jaguars." I never realized it had four syllables until last Saturday.
  9. Dareus' ankle is apparently still bothering him. He should sit in the last exhibition game and have two weeks to get it better for the opener. He can still work on conditioning etc.
  10. Can we really afford to cut Aiken and have him become a star on another team? Yes, we're loaded at WR, but this guy can play. I can't believe someone won't pick him up if we try to move him to the practice squad. Thoughts.
  11. Is it possible for the league, at this late date, to fix the kick-off problem? Can a special league meeting perhaps be called? I guess the bigger question is can the league admit it made a mistake, which clearly is the case. If nothing changes, it almost makes sense, but won't happen, to abolish kick-offs and just start from the 20.
  12. If the Bills had ever had anyone to get Evans the ball this would not been a story. Evans would have been the leading receiver year in and year out and would still be with the Bills. Why the Bills did not hold out for an OT is an indictment against the front office, I don't care how many good young receivers they have.
  13. The only thing that will convince you all that they're from Buffalo is if the shots were of bikini-wearing chicks sprawled out on snow drifts.
  14. Beyond words!
  15. Talking about busts, thank you Mr. Modrak.
  16. Fitz had time to throw? Not really. Watch it again. Bell, for one, was on a swivel. Someone on another post suggested moving Wood back to guard and reinstalling Hang at center. That makes sense as Wood at center was a tweak of the line. We first have to build one before we tweak it and whatever raises fewer concerns should be the way to go at this point.
  17. It's nonsense to say "don't worry, it's only a preseason game." If you saw the game, it's not only that the Bills played poorly, it's basic deficiencies that you don't overcome by merely flicking the switch when the season begins. The Bills cannot pass block or run block. It's frightening to see how bad your starting left tackle was tonight. Unless Fitz plays out of the 'gun, he's going to get killed. The way the secondary played is even scarier. Nobody was covered in the first half, with the starters playing. You can pass at will against that soft zone. And there was no pressure whatsoever on the Broncos' quarterback. If SM doesn't stay healthy, those sacks we had last week will remain an illusory fluke. The only thing that really looked good all night was the run defense. Yes, we've clearly improved the run defense. But just about everything else left an odor.
  18. But he brings memorabilia to the table!
  19. You apparently haven't seen much of Housh. If he had played on a top tier team, everyone would be talking about him. He is, or was, a tremendous receiver. I'm not saying we should necessarily go after him, but he has always been better than good.
  20. But we have a back-up center. Isn't that called depth?
  21. Yeah, use up your draft picks so you can have fun. Perhaps it works for you.
  22. How can a "castaway" be someone who left as a free agent? Not in my Websters, especially with something called a salary cap in place.
  23. In the Redskins/Steelers exhibition game, every kickoff by Graham Cano went through the end zone. That rarely happened last year with him kicking.
