  1. How can McKelvin have a really good year when he's clueless? People don't all of a sudden get smart. The chances are excellent he won't even make the team.
  2. The Raiders probably make the most sense for LA, especially with Al Davis no longer around. LA would likely make it very attractive for them to move there and the league would probably not strongly object since the Bay area would still have the 49ers. No one knows for sure and it certainly wouldn't be publicized, but Wilson may already have a contingency agreement with local interests for the Bills to be sold to them at his passing. It could even be a mandate to his daughter in his will. Got to think positive because the alternative is too difficult to contemplate.
  3. Agreed provided Vinny is still around by the end of camp. He's basically played in situations where the play has been telegraphed. If everyone knows you're going to run, you're likely to get stopped unless you're Jim Brown. Get original with Smith and/or use him as a wideout and things could change significantly.
  4. Keep the door wide open for McKelvin.
  5. I meant to include Cookie. The pile hasn't budged since he departed.
  6. Billy Shaw, Butch Byrd, Elbert Dubenion, Ernie Warlick
  7. Do we finally get rid of McKelvin, please, please, please?
  8. The guy really hasn't played that much college ball. His senior year was his first extended action. Could be an interesting signing. Moore has no arm and is slow, neither of which can be developed. This guy has an arm and is fast. He hasn't played that much and could develop. I'll take unpublicized up-side any time over a name who is mediocre.
  9. Glenn is certainly big enough to play tackle.
  10. Draft DeCastro and move Levitre to tackle if it becomes necessary. It will also give you incredible flexibility if Wood comes in subpar, which is always a possibility. Yes, Levitre has short arms but he's performed decently at tackle when he's had to.
  11. His size is not the only issue, it's THE issue. I do like the kid but . . .
  12. It's not a position of strength if Wood can't play like Wood could and Urbik has to be moved to center. That's something we won't know and management will only have limited insight into by draft day. It certainly should be a concern.
  13. From the pic and background, doesn't appear the type you'd want to run into in a dark alley, let alone on a football field. Interesting!
  14. Although it's somewhat early, have there been any reports on how Wood is doing? Everyone is focussing on the LT position but whether Wood will be fully back and effective should be a major concern going into the draft.
  15. Why is an offensive tackles foot speed a major concern? He's not running a dash while blocking. It's instincts, footwork, bulk, and strength that matters. LeVitre was criticized, coming out, as having short arms. How much has that impacted him?
  16. Why would you not want a stud OT with the D significantly strengthened? You never can have too many good offensive linemen and we absolutely need a left tackle (Hairston is unproven and Bell is a major risk if he's even around). You're praying for what exactly?
  17. If Merriman can stay healthy (pray) and play well, can Anderson play OLB? He has big linebacker size. I don't know about the speed. But that might be interesting.
  18. Florence is quite overrated. Of course, he's an all-star compared to McKelvin
