Cooley has lost all his speed. He was always a fast TE with great hands who could get open. He may still have the hands but all else is gone. And he was never a blocker. Wouldn't get overly excited about his availablility.
The kicks that are meaningful are the ones made during game and pressure situations. At least wait until you see how this guy does in preseason games before you decide to throw Lindell under the bus.
At some point you stop nursing him and cut him. It's one of those things when you know the team has really improved when it can cut a "player" like McKelvin.
Do you honestly think you have to be perfect to be successful. Nobody's perfect but the Pats are always able to procure the players they need, have tremendous coaching, and function as a top notch organization. No they're not perfect, but their recipe and ingredients generally make them a consistently successful, first class operation.
Aiken really impressed in camp and the preseason last year. It's not clear why he was not on the field more late in a clearly losing season. It'll certainly be interesting in any case.
He was cleared lsst season and couldn't make it past preseason. If he can stay active and contribute even a good part of this season, it will be a major plus.
