  1. They don't teach much football at Harvard.
  2. The headlines about the defense continually say "Bills Defense Comes Up Short Again." What they should say is "Bills Defense Stinks;" let's not be so diplomatic about it. And it's not that the defense doesn't have decent personnel. So the subline should be "Another Failure For the Defensive Coordinator." Again, be up-front about the basis of the problem. Does anyone object to "Wannstedt Has To Go?"
  3. Yes it's bright but not bright enough to compensate for everything else.
  4. I'm not sure I want to be a charter member of this new organization but blaming Fitz for not always successfully compensating for this teams many other deficiencies is too easy.
  5. Numerous deficiencies and a kick-off specialist who apparently has already worn out his leg and a punter who can't punt.
  6. Was the million dollar free agent even on the field? Never heard his name called once.
  7. Not as big a one as Duh defensive coordinator.
  8. One other mistake was even bigger. He should have gone for a two-point conversion after the third quarter touchdown. It's not hindsight because I was surprised he didn't at the time. Idiot Gannon (one of the worst "analysts" around) said it was too early in the game to do so; it was't. Even if they hadn't succeeded they would still have been within a field goal of winning
  9. Get him a Rhodes scholarship and send him to Oxford.
  10. Perhaps you can devise an underground blitz scheme for the Bills as the above ground version either needs significant fine tuning or doesn't actually exist.
  11. If Fitz gets hurt you put in another so so quarterback.
  12. The refs could have helped decide the game if they had called a few of the holding penalties on NE that should have been continually called. Perhaps who the refs really like is Brady's wife.
  13. The question perhaps should be who the GM will be. If Williams doesn't pan out and Ralph wonders why his GM convinced him to spend all that money, Ralph may desire a new GM moreso than a new head coach.
  14. Yes, we may be able to draft a top QB prospect next year the way things are looking. But does anyone know which quarterbacks will be free agents? Another possibility may be the guy (Flynn?) sitting on the bench in Seattle. Teams may be looking to trade for him. Fitz will never lead us to the promised land. No inconsistent, weak armed quarterback of his magnitude will.
  15. You know this how? Have they told you they believe it's a wonderful system or is it simply a matter of them going with the program, no matter how bad it may be. Players do what there told to do whether they like it or not. If they decide to go off and free lance because they don't believe in it, the consequences for them will frequently be the bench. So you follow the coach's lead. That doesn't mean you agree with the program. And after yesterday, no one should agree with Wannstadt's.
  16. The Bills clearly showed they have no one on D capable of lighting a fire under these guys when things start to go south. Clearly, the coaches are incapable of doing so as well. A vocal, respected team leader on D is a must, along with some competent coaching.
  17. We have decent personnel on defense who frequently appear lost. That's coaching to a good degree. Even the announcers Sunday commented about how confused our DBs appeared at times.
  18. Your fourth and fifth points are right on the money. We have significant deficiencies at those positions. It was incredible watching the holding by the Pats offensive line, none of which were being called. Today also pointed out that our defensive backfield coach isn't earning his pay. Even the network announcers were critical, though obliquely.
  19. No one is pinning the loss entirely on Fitz. The point is, he continually shows that he's not a consistent starter that will take you very far. He's not bad, but he's certainly not a prototype successfull starting quarterback by NFL standards.
  20. If anyone feels Fitz will improve over the course of more games, better receivers, or a "name" quarterback coach, they're kidding themselves. His limitations, such as a weak arm, are things you don't fix. Cincinnati knew he was no more than a back-up and went out and got themselves a starter. Until the Bills go the same route, inconsistency on offense is all you'll see. And inconsistency at the QB position takes you nowhere.
  21. Too much blame to pin on any one player. Fitz deserves his share however.
