  1. Why not take a play off (in disgust) when your quarterback cannot get you the ball, even when you're wide open.
  2. Dream on. We had a number of nightmare scenarios today that amplified how bad we can be.
  3. The primary reason this is a tough loss is that it exemplfied how erratic Manuel continues to be. It's a serious concern because you can't teach accuracy. In this regard, Rivers really showed him up.
  4. Your absolutely right. Today Spikes really showed his inability to stay with receivers on passing downs.
  5. Marrone: "I have a bargain for you, two starting cornerbacks and a starting quarterback for one from the aforementioned positions who can play. McCoy: Smiles and in the next photo walks away.
  6. Gilmore remains terrible and has an equally bad twin on the other side of the field. It's not so much how much time EJ takes to throw it's how inaccurate his throws are. He regularly misses open receivers on 2-3 yard throws, which is rather mind boggling, cannot go deep, and continually throws high, away, or on the wrong side of receivers who have to adjust or break pattern, even when they catch the ball. He drives me, for one, nuts as probobly does his coaches and team mates although they'd likely never publicly admit it. And yes, why would you start a slide a yard short of the first down marker when no one is about to tackle you.
  7. EJ is the definition of mediocre, as Webster puts it "neither very good or very bad, average." He'll have his decent games but we'll see many more games like today's with him behind center. You can't teach accuracy and that's such a major problem with this guy. He regularly misses short, open tosses and guys who are sometimes wide open downfield, which was the case more than once today. A good percentage of his passes that are caught are because someone makes a difficult catch of a poorly thrown ball or has to break pattern to catch a pass thrown behind or on the wrong side of him. You can't teach accuracy just as you can't teach mediocre, though first round, cornerbacks very much.
  8. EJ has progressed in certain areas, such as leadership, but you can't teach a quarterback accuracy. EJ will likely thus continue to be, way too often, the EJ we saw today. That being said, Orton in not the answer. We don't have one at this time and very likely won't next season even if we choose to go in a different direction. Keep playing EJ and hope for a miracle.
  9. Gilmore has always been "the comer," except there's a point where you become "the loser." The way he's (not) playing, he's clearly reached that point. Oh, this will draw the response that "he"s still young" and whatever. But either you've got it or you don't; he appears to be the latter. McKelvin had one flash in the pan season and now he's back to being terrible and a liability on defense. Graham did get hurt in the first half but came back. Yes, he's the only corner playing anywhere near decent ball. We need to look for another free agent next year or find a top notch corner who falls to number 2, unless a top notch quarterback falls that far.
  10. Perpetrators are getting caught moreso than ever before. The NFL was never a league of choir boys.
  11. About the only thing he'd bring to the Bills is a big rap sheet.
  12. If he wants too fine. But what's the point?
  13. How can one be too talented to be a game manager? Managing the game means taking charge, directing, and executing. It doesn't necessarily take tons of talent to pull that off. You need to be on top of things and work to make things happen. Last season EJ showed little aptitude in any of these areas. This year he certainly appears to be running the show as opposed to running scared. Too talented?
  14. Can I get credited with two sacks please?
  15. EJ has to settle down in the zone. Too much adrenelin can lead to some really poor throws, as he exemplifies. Hopefully he'll grow in time.
  16. Couldn't agree with you more. The press can be pathetic as well; anything for a "story."
  17. Oh, yeah, I'm really focused on 2011. What's the point; teams start off good, end bad while others reverse it. Happens all the time.
  18. Anyone know of a Bills or sports bar in midtown Manhatton area (I'll be on W. 58th St.) that will be carrying the game Sunday? Thanks.
  19. Where's the "Ralph is cheap" poster? He gave you a lot more than your annoying posts could ever give the community based on what we read here.
  20. I believe USA Today picks the Bills.
  21. It's interesting that Schumer is always at the annual Buffalo Nite on Capitol Hill in DC. It just happens to be next week. He'll be somewhat of a star unless the Pugulas show up.
  22. Money talks to these guys. Terry is in.
  23. His wife is probably so upset because she may lose The Big Ticket (and credit card) if no one wants poor Ray, even if his suspension is lifted. She'll have to find another potential loser. Something wrong with these women who cling to the Chris Browns of the world. If it's fear, get a restraining order for starters.
