  1. Either Hackett is very stubborn or he's as unable to figure out the big offensive picture; sort of like how Spiller is unable to figure out how to get around the corner or find an inside sliver to sneak through (that's of course if there are any inside slivers given this offensive line).
  2. You don't run the ball well, no matter how good your backs are, unless you have a line that can create some space. I'd say ask OJ but he's been unavailable for awhile. His stats were quite ordinary his first two years until the "Electric Company" arrived.
  3. Perhaps start with the OC? But that won't happen.
  4. The majority of his runs are inside runs (opening a few holes for him would help) but his failed propensity to attempt to get around the corner is maddening. You need to throw to him in the open field. That's where he'd be at his best. Why they don't do it more often is puzzling.
  5. The Duke is either clueless or uncoachable, as no one ever told him a defensive back should do what he did on that interference penalty. We drafted him why?
  6. Don't blame Gilmore for that TD. He did everything he should have done on that catch but had some bad luck.
  7. With Hackett as his offensive coordinator, Johnny Unitas could possibly have been only a decent, not a great quarterback JU could obviously make the plays but what made him most effective was his original play calling (QBs called their own plays back then).
  8. You've got to give the guy a few games. Also, it would help if our game plane showed some original thinking.
  9. You have to appreciate Hackett's consistency: never pass on first down; until it finally works, keep trying to get Spiller outside; and don't pass to Spiller in the open field. Oh yes, and what's a screen pass or draw play?
  10. With Pettine as DC, we would have won this game. Not going after a QB like Brady was a joke. Unless you can seven DBs at once (and that might not help as we have hardly any that can really play), pressuring an exceptional QB should be a no brainer.
  11. We don't want to know about your problems.
  12. Yes, we're on the rise. It's equivalent to consistently attempting to go uphill.
  13. We have a very consistent game plan. Never pass on first down and keep trying to get Spiller outside.
  14. We need more than Aaron Williams in our secondary. It is clearly "secondary." And, BTW, does Duke have anything resembling an IQ?
  15. Would the coach please advise Spiller, again and again and again, that he is not to try to get outside. "But coach, "I have the speed." He may have the speed but he has no clue, and never has had, that it takes more than speed to run towards the sidelines and then effectively get up field. It's sick what a waste of plays that attempt has been over the years. The best way to use Spiller's speed is to throw the ball to him when he's already away from tacklers. Why they resist doing that with any frequency is quite puzzling.
  16. Ever wonder why no one has brought him in?
  17. So play him and develop a young, potentially better quarterback. And I'm talking about a young QB currently on the roster.
  18. You convinced me to not watch the game.
  19. Tate can play but he's the ultimate a------.
