  1. Just to clarify, Griffin has struggled primarily because he's been rushed back from injuries, Mike Shanahan played him when he was basically crippled, and everyone is attempting to make him change his game. Plus, the DC press has picked on him incessantly for everything he does and says and Gruden publicly threw him under the bus this past season. He may continue to struggle until he's out of the DC environment.
  2. No, it might be about Cyrus.
  3. He certainly was dependable to win big games at USC. Watch the tape of his last bowl game there. Granted, it doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL. But of the crop out there, he's likely your best bet.
  4. Smith was a very good prospect who took some time to adapt to the NFL. EJ was a so so prospect who luckily, for him, got drafted much too high.
  5. You can't teach accuracy or feel for the game. EJ has neither. Say what you want about Marrone, and I wasn't a supporter, but he certainly understood this.
  6. Is there a point to this thread? Carr shows potential to become a franchise quarterback. What has EJ shown? The bottom line is that EJ is not an accurate passer and has demonstrated very little feel for the game. If that's what we want in a starting quarterback, even one with significant game time, then go ahead and make all the comparisons you want.
  7. Release him? It may not be what you mean but I hope we can afford to do it down the road.
  8. Agreed. It may sound crazy but how about bringing in two free agent quarterbacks and let them battle it out with EJ?
  9. Moore. He was pretty decent when Miami let him play.
  10. He's a premier talent who keeps medical types fully employed.
  11. Play one more season somewhere and then perhaps become a regular on SNL.
  12. Totally agree. We're not going to come up with a super star in free agency this year and need another placeholder until next year's fine crop of free agents becomes available or we develop a young quarterback. Who knows why McCown numbers dropped so precipitously last season. It may not have been totally on him. All it takes is a seivish offensive line, a bunch of clueless or inept receivers, or some nicks. He was very good two seasons ago, as noted.
  13. Hell no! You want this team to become a clone of what George Allen did to the Redskins with his "The future is now?" He never won anything after regularly trading away his high draft picks.
  14. No, resign him, which may be doable if he truly wants to stay in Buffalo.
  15. It's getting late for a football operations guy, at least for this cycle of free agency, draft, combine etc. Let's get a quarterback and a guard and perhaps forget about the guy as this isn't rocket science.
  16. What I'd really like to hear Whaley say, and have him prove, that Cyrus realizes he made little progress last season and is working his ass off to try to improve.
  17. McCoy played well for the Redskins. However, he didn't have a chance of retaining the starting position once Griffin became "healthy" because, whether the organization admits it or not, Snyder was not going to have Griffin sit on the bench given the investment the Redskins made in him. McCoy is worth looking at closely. But, in truth, the free agents available will likely be little more than placeholders until we get lucky, losing-wise or otherwise.
  18. I'll buy that but I'd love to keep Hughes.
  19. Drawling penalties? That's going down the field in the wrong direction.
