Tyrod's first 5 games
Formerly Allan in MD replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shanahan was not a good coach. Denver certainly determined that once the guy who made Shanahan a name, John Elway, retired. MS had no business taking a badly injured Griffin, playing on literally one leg, and feeding him to the dogs. He was getting blasted in that game all because Shannie badly needed a win, at all costs. And when Griffin finally went down it, it was basically gross negligence personified. RGIII is third string because the Redskins will undoubtedly attempt to trade him after this season or cut him. He's due a big bonus, which they are not about to pay but will be forced to pay it if he plays and gets injured. That's why he's not playing. -
Ryan Taunting Marrone?

Doesn't that say something about him as a head coach? it should. -
Sammy can play, much more so than those who rag on him because EJ messed up his ankle with an amatuer throw.

Tyrod's first 5 games

The analogy to RGIII is nonsensical. Mike Shanahan got Griffin "killed" and the following season started him without his participating fully in training camp and not playing in any exhibitions, which led to him getting injured again early on. Griffin has never been the same since Shanahan ruined him. That's a big difference between a healthy, young player and a significantly limited player following serious injuries. Also, when Griffin returned, they attempted to totally change his game, which he had difficulty adapting to. So it's apples and oranges. Why are so many now dumping on Taylor? We wouldn't have three wins if it wasn't for him. He's played exceptionally well for someone who never started previously. It therefore must be the ecstasy with EJ. Good luck with that. -
He does need a fresh start but he's not a prototype quarterback and never has been. When he was the real deal RGIII, before Shanahan ruined his career, he didn't have to be a prototype QB. He could pretty much get away with doing anything on the field. But he's never adjusted to, post Shanahan, having to be a new version of his previous self. I'd pass.

Look what happened with EJ - to us. Amen says one P. Manning.

I guarantee the Bills will not lose...

Been one since day one and still hope, as in hope Manuel is not on the team next season, if not sooner, and Ryan is not the coach. -
[closed]Start EJ against Miami
Formerly Allan in MD replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aside from the fact that EJ has no feel for the game, is not an accurate passer (which can injure his receivers who have to adjust to his bad throws/Watkins), and predetermines who he's throwing to which leads to not seeing wide open receivers and throwing instead to guys covered well or even double covered (as he did yesterday), he's absolutely your man if you want to keep losing. He was playing a bad team yesterday and was basically mediocre. I'm not sure anyone would give you a 6th or 7th round pick for him. They'd have to be desperate for a back up. -
EJ is a rough spell. He almost makes me yearn for JP Losman, and that's really a sick thought. Hughes appears to have forgotten that he used to be able to play. Perhaps it's the money. If you're a team not prepared to play, game after game, don't expect to win many. And I've seen high school teams with more discipline. Easley needs to be in the offensive mix. He's showing this year he can play more than special teams.

Where are the gameplans?
Formerly Allan in MD replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not you. This team, game after game, is woefully prepared and completely undisciplined. That's on the coaching and no one else. Terry is going to have to swallow a chunk of salary, which fortunately he can afford to do. Hopefully, he sees that or has enough professional advice that he'll see that bit of light. -
Reflecting on the Bills last 3 first round picks
Formerly Allan in MD replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is the nightmare over after today? There's no guarantee Taylor won't get nicked again, especially as a running quarterback. The nightmare will return. EJ is so limited that the bar is very low on his threshold. -
In defense of EJ (yeah, I said it!)

Keep self deluding yourself. -
time to cut EJ. Bring in Tebow as a backup

Why are we attempting to justify worse or worst? -
Who's to say that Schwartz may not still be available to become defensive coordinator? But hiring him as head coach is likely not a good move based on his record in Detroit. But JS as DC will only occur if Ryan agrees to give up control of the defense. Who would want to come here and be a figurehead as Thurman apparently is? In any case, there would still be problems as long as Rex is head coach of this or any other team.

It's Cassel Time in Dallas
Formerly Allan in MD replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is everyone assuming that getting rid of Cassel was strictly Whaley's call? Yes, he's the GM but they frequently are influenced heavily by the preferences of the head coach and at times the owner (D. Snyder). Whoever made the decision made a mistake at the time, which a number of us said. And whoever said EJ could be an effective NFL quarterback were clearly mistaken, which a number of us also said at the time.
