  1. This particular backup was a number one pick. The fact that he's still around after giving this team nothing over the years (he wasn't okay last year) is newsworthy.
  2. 2017-18 season. Salary cap will be of incredible help for next season. And Taylor will have another year of experience. And it will be like having two first round picks with Lawson back (he'll be of little help this season, especially after missing camp).
  3. Why is honesty a big deal? All he's saying is that if you don't want your brain scrambled, don't play football because it's not necessarily kind to brains.
  4. Rex is the "mouth that roared." Frequently, as apparently is the case with Rex, roaring is a cover for an inability to figure out how to soar. I hope he's on a very short and tight leash as he deserves to be, as you suggest. Talent is one thing; knowing how to effectively utilize it is quite another and Ryan has shown no ability thus far to figuring that out.
  5. There's price gouging on concessions in pro sports? Who would have thunk it?
  6. He wasn't playing in a game. This is certainly unfortunate. Why did it take four weeks for the Bills to announce this? It's actually good it happened weeks ago since he's having time to heel. But foot injuries can, at times, not heal properly or reoccur and have to be redone and redone. Ask Grant Hill.
  7. What nonsense. The only player he mentions whose loss may be felt is Bradham. How can we have regressed when Taylor has gained a full year of experience as a starter and young guys like Darby and Karlos Roman was not unknown and Taylor is now experienced. I'd rather have a quarterback that produces and has become known because of that than one like EJ who is known because he doesn't produce. have stepped in and up? And the illusion of EJ as a pro quarterback has finally been put to rest. Plus, Watkins has proven that he's a bonafide producer. We didn't regress this off-season, we more so did last off-season by bringing in Ryan and losing our DC. That's when the icing really melted on the cake. ?? Last two sentences go with the initial one.
  8. You're being kind to Losman. He should have had a "t" after the "s" in his last name. Kemp had his moments but what drove me crazy about him was how he'd be under pressure and instead of throwing the ball away or taking the sack he'd often keep retreating and retreating and turn a 5-10 yard loss into much more.
  9. That hockey arena is just sitting there waiting for it to happen, and right near the Strip.
  10. You took the names right out of my memory bank. And Lamonica did not suck. Dennis Shaw played well and showed real promise but injuries ruined him in short order. Dan Darragh, if I'm not mistaken, was the only QB on these lists who was never drafted by an NFL team (if he was, it was very late, out of that football hotbed William and Mary). My "favorite" was Johnny Green, who when they couldn't figure out why he threw so many interceptions was tested and turned out to be color blind. Ah, the good old days.
  11. Fine but we need more help on the OL.
  12. The question is: can Rex Ryan effectively curate the zoo?
  13. The Bills certainly pulled it off with Golden Wheels.
  14. Who would give him 2 years? All they have to do is watch the tapes.
  15. Whaley is a fine GM, no matter what others on the board say. He knew he had to move up to get Ragland and pulled it off. It's just unfortunate that he couldn't come up with a solid OL prospect.
  16. Lewis was a player. But he was much more as he was the dynamic leader of his team. If Ragland can even approach Lewis' value to the team, he's one of our best picks ever.
  17. Pryor played a lot more than Jones in college, which certainly can help one become more accomplished. The drafts that led to the Super Bowl teams weren't too shabby.
  18. Hopefully, Miller will improve. Have a feeling his injuries not only kept him out but hindered his play when he was in. We needed another solid offensive lineman and didn't do anything there. Henderson and Kujo remain major question marks, aside from the Miller situation. To all those Woods haters, he played injured and is a better receiver (and certainly a good blocker) than you give him credit for being. Taylor didn't look for him a lot and that may be because he knew about his physical situation. Please bring in some kickers to create a bonafide competition in camp. We need one solid kicker. The wild card in all this is Rex. I'm not a fan and feel he's a mediocre coach until he proves otherwise.
  19. One kicker on the roster, please. They have to be beating the bushes for a camp competition. Is Carpenter kicking extra points daily in the offseason? It's surprising he wasn't drafted, especially following his Combine performance.
