  1. The fan base in SD is strong, but they don't want their taxes to rise because a cheapskate owner is a cheapskate owner. Live the LA dream Spanos and figure out where you'll go next.
  2. I'm trying to stay awake to avoid the persistent Ryan nightmare.
  3. Appears to be today's version of Spurrier.
  4. Your fourth point has puzzled me for two seasons. Clay has often been free but hasn't been thrown to very much. Many have criticized Clay for some unknown reason other than he hasn't shown up well in the stats. A good quarterback, on a good team, will distribute the ball. When you have weapons and don't fully exploit them, that's a problem. Woods was not thrown to that often as well. Recently that's changed. Does that mean TT has changed? I'm not so sure. He still holds onto the ball too long. That's a recipe for missed opportunities, sacks, and serious injury.
  5. EJ was never going to be a factor. You don't teach accuracy or feel for the game, both of which EJ showed from day one were lacking in his make-up. I don't dislike Whaley but this was his biggest mistake. He got awed by that MVP bowl appearance.
  6. We did not give up "multiple" first round draft picks for Watkins. We EXCHANGED firsts with Cleveland (that's not giving up or losing one) and gave up one first plus a lower round pick. Whaley's made some mistakes, such as banking on EJ based on one bowl game performance, but he's also made great trades (Shady, Hughes) and signed the likes of Alexander, who became a Pro Bowler here following a very average career. And what's wrong with the Gilleslee signing? I will be down on him if he breaks the bank on overrated Gilmore. And what's with blaming Nix's moves on Whaley?
  7. Bills fans should be treated for PTSD.
  8. Perhaps he feels Sammy should be catching those balls that sail nowhere near him. If I'm Watkins, I want out of this madness. What a wasted talent.
  9. The biggest thing this franchise needs, and has needed since the Pegulas bought in, is someone exceptionally knowledgeable and respected to educate, guide, and prompt them. That individual will be worth whatever money it takes to get him. Who could it be - Polian, Dungy, McCarthy, Belichick etc.? Money talks and the owners need to spend it on the right individual who might be available and is willing to listen. As far as Whaley goes, I like him but not as a czar, which he obviously hasn't been. And Brandon certainly doesn't cut it. One can only dream, and hope it's not of these recurring nightmares.
  10. One thing is clear: it's the same old EJ.
  11. And don't forget Archie Matsos. One aches for all those guys. They played hard every down and wanted more than just the check.
  12. Thanks. They say Lynn's a details guy, which is the antithesis of what Ryan is. That in itself is a breath of fresh air.
  13. We'll see about EJ's development program. Now if the OL could only figure out how to pass block on a rather consistent basis.
  14. Because we have a very high pain threshold.
  15. Belichick simply wants to play against Ryan's team as often as possible. Don't blame him a bit.
  16. Based on what we've seen of his outstanding defensive mind, absolutely.
  17. Jones should be given the chance to have an amazing game this Sunday. But he won't get that opportunity because if Ryan feels there's the slightest chance he'll be retained if he wins big against the Jets, he'll go with Taylor.
  18. Perhaps this team sleepwalks thru first quarters because they have a lousy game plan, if that. Lazy or careless coaching has to go. The fact that Sammie catches bad passes says something about Taylor and why he's not considered a solid passer when Sammie's not on the field. Just a thought. Clay has not really stepped up; he's merely seeing the ball more than he has since he arrived here. Everyone ragging on him for almost two years should count the times passes have come his way each game. I have a feeling Lynn has something to do with this improvement.
  19. He won't tackle when he's not being paid. Why will all off a sudden become a tackler when he's fat and happy with a big contract? This notion that he's trying not to get injured doesn't wash. He's never been anything more than a mediocre tackler.
  20. Rex is big on details. He knows you'll be penalized if you have too many men on the field. He's thus satisfied with having ten out there because you won't get a flag.
  21. Gilmore once again displays why he's overrated and not worth the money. He might get dirty if he tackles someone - or he's not quite sure how to do it.
