There are those of us on the board who disliked him and were continually told we were delusional. Any corner who can't or won't tackle, isn't the best cover guy on the field, and draws a lot of dumb penalties, yet is constantly hyped, is overrated.
Running plays may be pretty simple but they generally work only as well as your OL blocks and opens up space for them. OJ didn't do much early on with the Bills until the Electric Company showed up.
The Bills are far from a good passing team. They also have "developed" a rather mediocre running game. That recipe won't get you to the playoffs as the defense, on the field much more time than off, will wear down as the season progresses. Those feeling the offense will improve have an unfullfillable wish list. We have little to develop on offense and no other team is going to help us out to any appreciable degree. George Allen liked to say "The future is now." But he likely wouldn't say that about this team.
