  1. The "Patriot way" may well go the other way once Brady and Belichik are gone. But until that happens, don't count them out no matter how many players they lose.
  2. Context is critical. A draftable quarterback may not have had great stats, but he also may have had a terrible offensive line and/or bad receivers. Also, Montana, if he were coming out today might be labeled as not having a cannon for an arm.
  3. Would you mind posting something that makes sense? Others get raked my management for this sort of thing.
  4. Offensive linemen and linebackers please.
  5. Why is everyone so convinced he's going to further trade up? We have too many holes to fill and the opportunity to do so without giving it all up for a quarterback who may get killed because we still have to depend on the likes of windmill Mills and possibly a rookie center. Two quarterbacks not currently on the roster will be, including a bridge and a rookie with upside, and we'll overall be in a lot better shape if we sign the right free agents and draft wisely with all the picks we currently have.
  6. It's only a ruse in the minds of those determined to draft one of the top four quarterbacks at all costs. We had some heavy baggage with Glenn and Taylor, which was considerably lightened. We now have more cap space as well. Since we have many holes and all these high picks, we now have can really plug those holes. Use the picks wisely, bring in an experienced bridge quarterback, and draft the likes of White or Lauletta. Our young quarterbacks, with potential and a solid line in front of them, can be given a chance to develop and not be blitzed out of the league.
  7. We have a lot of needs and are in a great position to fix them. It would be a mistake to throw all those fixes out to get an unproven quarterback that is far from a consensus keeper. Hopefully, our top guys understand that. As I and others have been saying for a long time, bring in a proven vet like McCown and draft White or Lauletta.
  8. Keep this up Beano. You're lookin' better by the day.
  9. Turnstiles only function well in markets.
  10. Baltimore can have Taylor back. He'll come cheap.
  11. Yes it matters. Look at our record since the Super Bowl years and analyze our draft history since then.
  12. To "tank," the strategy from the coach on down has to be to try and lose games. Does anyone logically think that a coach will tell his team to try to lose? He'd be at great risk for not only being fired but also not looking all that good in competing for other positions. Individual players are not going to intentionally play poorly (unless, of course, their being bribed or are simply lazy) as it hurts their image and employability and damages their chances for pay increases and bonuses. Teams don't tank!
  13. Who's the quarterback of the Patriots? How many MVPs has he won and how many times has he lead his team to the Super Bowl, let alone them winning it? Imagine how that team would be with Taylor or Manuel as their quarterback. How did the Packers do last season before Rodgers went out compared to what they did with him healthy? Perhaps this explains emphasis on quarterbacks.
  14. Well, you got the attention you were seeking. Try something else ridiculous and you'll get more.
  15. When will football start doing what baseball is doing and stop paying exorbitant prices for overpriced commodities? If Matthews is healthy and reasonable, why not?
  16. Picking a quarterback this year is a "which" hunt.
  17. Lauletta or White; grab one of them.
