  1. Right, McDermott traded McCarron, he injured Allen, he concussed Anderson, he made certain the offensive line was incapable of protecting any quarterback, he fixed the elections, .......
  2. You're suggesting Dan was a star like Jack and OJ? It's apples and orange juice.
  3. Numerous teams have a lot of positions to fill. If they're all tanking you need a lottery, which defeats the purpose of a so called tank to a good degree.
  4. When is a tank a tank or simply a very bad team continually losing? How about some nuance for a change.
  5. Give Dan a break. He was a nobody coming out of William & Mary, I believe. He lit it up in camp and got playing time. As I recall, he became injury prone and got cut. At the outset, it was a good story. Thank you Erik.
  6. Why not? They'd better not rush Allen. Hate to see him get injured again behind our putrid OL.
  7. We'll likely have significant opportunities to improve in the off season, given our draft prospects and free agent money. If Beane blows it and this team is still floundering next season, that warm seat will get hot as hell. He's already made some poor choices and could very well be gone after three seasons. It's pretty unlikely that if Beane goes following next season, McD will still be here as well.
  8. McCown's a good player. Wish we had him.
  9. EJ couldn't complete them.
  10. Yes, a top notch OC would be great. However, it doesn't matter who the OC is if you don't provide him with acceptable resources to work with. Draft offensive linemen high for a change and/or bring in free agents whose names are not Newhouse, get rid of linemen like Wind Mills, who never improve over time, and let the young guys get minutes, and come up with receivers who can really play (other teams do). Get high grade resources in place and you might be amazed at what your OC can produce.
  11. But what do you say to those fans who year after year get excited when we're a shambles but win a meaningless game late in the season that severely harms our draft prospects? You question their excitement and the response is "a win is a win." Wonderful. You just dropped five spots in the draft because of a meaningless win. I know what I'd really like to say but trend toward diplomacy instead. Then there are those that say we can always trade to move up.
  12. OFFENSIVE LINE NEGLECT OFFENSIVE LINE NEGLECT OFFENSIVE LINE NEGLECT OFFENSIVE LINE NEGLECT OFFENSIVE LINE NEGLECT .................................
  13. He made the playoffs with an offensive line that was functional, if not great. Two quality OL starters departed and were replaced by Bodine and Newhouse et al, aka meh. He also made the playoffs with little in the way of wideouts. That's to his credit. But the receiver equation hasn't improved. The deficiencies on the OL, receiver, and elsewhere are on Beane. Why are so many roasting the coach because of our personnel deficiencies? He's done and is doing the best he can with what he's been given. With respect to assistant coaches, that, however, is on him.
  14. He's lucky he got one. You left out the part about the fact Rex couldn't coach.
  15. For a guy no one's wanted, he did show plenty. He came here saying he"s "ready to ball." Guess that translates to two straight catches, two straight fumbles. And the fumbles don't relate to the fact he's a newbie in the system. When do we stop scraping?
  16. Can we claim someone identifiable who can catch NFL passes at 5'7", with small hands?
  17. Having significant cap space is one thing; utilizing it properly is quite another. It all comes down to judgement and with Beane, I'm definitely "from Missouri."
  18. For the first time, McD looked dejected during the game. And he wasn't clapping.
