  1. If Houston had a decent QB tonight, they'd win. Savage just is terrible
  2. Or we need Tennessee of Jacksonville to drop out of the playoff race. That could happen too. It's not just Baltimore
  3. There's two different reasons they were taken off. One was because of a major injury and the other was because of off the field incidents. Who cares if Shaq was the last DE taken, it was a very bad draft pick and probably one of the reasons why Whaley is out of the NFL. BTW see what I mean about Whaley being polarizing. Fans will defend bad draft picks like this to the death.
  4. Yeah I'll call drafting a player that many teams took off of their draft boards in the 1st round a risk. How has it worked out so far?
  5. Right which I why I say Whaley is a very polarizing figure. I tend to think his drafting really left a lot to be desired, and I think risks like Shaq Lawson are one good reason why
  6. I've heard this argument before - "if you've never coaches or played professionally who have no right to voice an opinion." Give me a freaking break. By the way, one of the most popular sports talk show host is former Patriots QB Scott Zolak who was a low-end backup for the majority of his career. I guess being a 3rd string QB really qualifies you as a sports talk show host
  7. Nah I've heard Fred Smerlas and he was about as unbearable and terrible to listen to as The Bulldog. He sounds way worse - like he is drowsy and could pass out at any time. I used to listen to Fred on The Bob Matthews Show in Rochester years ago and between the two of them, it was brutal as all hell.
  8. Listen at 20 minute mark http://www.wgr550.com/media/audio-channel/11-27-tyler-dunne-bleacher-report-sal-capaccio
  9. YES I know exactly what you mean about Bulldog. I agree with this 100% and I can add, I just don't like the sound of his voice. There are shows where Schoop is not on and it's unbearable listening to Bulldog. Schopp is ok. Not my favorite but I can tolerate him. I will say he does bring up some good, intelligent points from time to time. But he is very snarky and acts like the smartest guy in the room. He's also rude to callers in a passive aggressive way. He tends to also cram politics into situations where it doesn't need to be added, like when he supporters others claims that racism had something to do with Tyrod having less of chance. Overall Schoop and The Bulldog are just tough to listen to. I prefer Howard and Jeremy any day.
  10. Good young reporter - used to be the beat reporter for The Buffalo New (back when it was free). He follows the entire NFL now, so let's hope he's off on his prediction
  11. Let's hope...His press conference today doesn't give Bills fans much hope
  12. Again, this appears to be a very suspect pick by the very polarizing figure known as Doug Whaley. I know some people love Whaley, but the return for drafting Shaq (especially with a shoulder injury that scared away many teams and dropped his value) has to be considered a huge disappointment. There's no other way around it. Like someone else said, you don't spend a first round draft choice on a "run plugging DE."
  13. I know we all despise Rick Dennison's offense and are hoping that McDermott pulls the trigger to upgrade the OC position, especially considering the candidates who might be available (Hugh Jackson, Ben McAdoo, Dirk Koetter, Mike McCoy, Bruce Arians etc). But I was listening To "The Extra Point Show" with Sal Capaccio on WGR and he had Tyler Dunne from The Bleacher Report - formerly Buffalo News Sports (when it was free to read). I sure hope he is wrong but he believes the decision to bench Tyrod essentially guarantees Dennison's security. He believes that Tyrod is not a QB that can run his offense, so his theory is that the Bills are going to keep Dennison around and find a new QB for him. I really don't think his logic makes sense. You have to consider that Dennison was McDermott's 3rd choice as OC (behind McCoy and Childress) and he doesn't have a longstanding relationship to McDermott like other coaches do on his staff. McDermott is also not stupid - he can't be blind to the fact that the offense as a whole has been ineffective. Plus, if Dennison was the one behind starting Peterman, as speculated by many, then it doesn't say much about his judgement. Like it or not, if the Bills do take a QB in the draft the success of that position essentially could determine the fate of McDermott and Beane in 4 years. Do you really want your fate in the hands of Rick Dennison? You make a lot of tough calls in regarding to hiring your staff in the NFL. I am hoping McDermott and Beane are smart enough to see better options available. For what it's worth, audio can be found below. The Dennison talk is at the 20 minute mark: http://www.wgr550.com/media/audio-channel/11-27-tyler-dunne-bleacher-report-sal-capaccio <script data-cx-item-id="121186945" data-cx-widget="10321" data-cx-api-key="4qtw7wGvXs6KB0n4GjDPMRQjMjNBkyIw" src="//embed.widget.cx/amd.js"></script>
  14. He stays on the team in 2018 but to a reduced workload. Then after that, you could be spot on. He'd have 1 year left on his contract
  15. Can't get behind this argument. Have you been watching this season? Bills fans have plenty to criticize. That's what the majority of NFL fans do - take a look at the KC message board right now.
  16. You mean his 1 rush for 29 yards?
  17. Glad they lost. To be fair though, Bruce Arayans kind of did the same thing. He punted and pinned them deep rather than trying to convert a 4th and 1 to win the game. Thought it was a weak call
  18. This is ridiculous. The Bills ineptness is largely traced back to Ralph Wilson who felt "shell shocked" after Tom Donahoe didn't work out as GM. Since then he empowered the wrong individuals as decision makers for the franchise. The Pegulas have only been around for a few years, but you can make the argument that they did the same thing by hiring Rex Ryan and largely keeping the same failed administration in place. Not so keen on the Sabres, but again you can look at the Pegulas empowering the wrong people to make important decisions (Ruff, Murray etc)
  19. Yes exactly... We're probably looking at performances similar to Ramon Humber. He'd put up some tackle number but get toasted in coverage. Not a fit for a 4-3
  20. I'm with you on a lot of these players. The one I'll disagree with is Gaines. If he can somehow manage to stay healthy, I think he's a capable starter. The bigger problem is a lack of overall depth on this team. McDermott and Beane need to find good players fast
  21. That's because you are reading the sentence without any context. Vic broke an exclusive story that Terry issued an ultimatum that if the Bills didn't the playoff, both Rex and Whaley could be fired. Of course at the time all of the fan base and some of the media dismissed the rumors (including Sal Cappaccio and Chris Trappaso). They said Vic was crazy and was reporting speculation Many were certain that there was no way Rex and Whaley would get fired with multiple years on their contract. Pegula himself denied it. Less than a year later, both were gone. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000617938/article/report-bills-owner-gives-ultimatum-to-ryan-whaley
  22. The last two seasons have been crazy...but yeah I'll say 2017 was more dramatic than 2016
  23. Tolbert not in the game is barely a loss.
