  1. I am saying YES it was baffling. Fred’s Co-host did too. Fred kept saying how the coaches take apart game film and they must have saw the he wasn’t playing well. When the Co-host said he would have been an inprovement to the CB’s today, Fred said that Rowe played well. It was more Nick Foles making throws than it was bad play. He made every excuse for BB
  2. I can't imagine being a Lions fan right about now
  3. I disagree completely. He has 3 losses in the Super Bowl sure - but he also has 5 victories. Getting to 1 Super Bowl is pretty challenging, The Patriots made it to 8 Super Bowls in 16 years - 50% of the time is unreal. Sorry but I don't buy the Montana is better than Brady excuse. Look at the 5-7 Pro Bowl players Montana consistently had on offense. Outside of Randy Moss for a few years, Brady really never played with All-Pros. But he did elevate the talent around him. Sorry but he's still the GOAT. The fact that Matt Patricia's ****ty defense couldn't stop Nick Foles should not change it
  4. To make matters worse, Butler was taking snaps with the first team defense and Eric Rowe had no idea he was starting until before the game. Something really weird went down here.
  5. Makes sense...I don't listen to an old hasbeen like Robert Matthews.
  6. Like I said, I don't listen to Fred.
  7. Can the Lions take the contract off the table? How can you feel good about Patricia after watching his teams give up nearly 400 yards to Blake Bortles and Nick Foles in back-to-back weeks?
  8. I don't follow Fred's career. I believe I read in Jim Kelly's book that he allegedly tried to intimidate replacement players during the strike of 87. Haven't like him since
  9. So I tuned into WEEI to listen to the Patriot fans complain about the loss tonight only to find old Buffalo Bill Fred Smerlas. Man he is terrible to listen to - like Donald Jones terrible. But the show got really bad when his co-host brought up the Malcolm Butler situation. Fred made about 100 excuses for why Belichick's decision to bench Butler was a baffling decision. Aside from that, he made countless excuses for why Nick Foles destroyed New England. Fred is probably my least favorite ex Bill. Now he's a Patriot apologist. It's only fitting.
  10. It’s has to be Tyrod. It’s not exactly the compliment. Kind of like being the skinniest member of “The Biggest Loser.” You can’t make a case for Bledsoe over Tyrod. He had 1 good season and finished with a .500 record. Never made he playoffs
  11. Oh cool! I’ll watch now. I thought I read on Joe B’s Twitter that it could only be shown on broadcast TV in Buffalo
  12. It sure would be good if some of the Buffalo-based Bills Mafia could upload it to YouTube for the rest of the FamBase
  13. So frustrating to click on what sounds like a great article, only to get redirected to the paywall. I get why newspapers are doing this, I just think it’s a faulty model that will likely drive away viewers that would normally click on the link
  14. Would necessarily read much into this. But it would not surprise me to see EJ walk. I think Beane was working the compensation pick formula when he traded for him. No coincidence the 2 guys he traded for were in the final year of their deals
  15. Thats a fair point. Flutie is not in the same legend. But when people associate players with the Buffalo Bills, many still think of the Magic Flutie. Also he’d be a great subject to roast, although the great work he does with his son for Autism fundraising if off limits.
  16. Who in the blue hell is Peter Schilke? Can’t even get verified on Twitter. Take his writing with a grain of sugar
  17. Link please
  18. That’s my biggest gripe. The Bulldog will never disagree with Mike. It makes the show tough to listen to for me. I’m not saying they have get into On-Air debates but listen to the show when it was Mike and Sal. Sal actually shared a different point of view respectfully. Mike wasn’t used to that all he could say was “Ok....Ok”
  19. It’s not stupid if you take a chance to think about what I originally said. In fact, several people said they liked the thread. It’s not my fault about 60% of people who read this thread can’t understand what I was trying to say.
  20. Thank you KJ. You did a great job articulating the main point of the thread. The tribute to Fred would definitely be a great idea
  21. “This History of Comedy” by some dude named Old Dirty B. So you basically confirmed my point that the modern roast is about finding a figure who is an “easy target” or someone that you find things to laugh at. Exactly the opposite of Fred. So thanks for proving my point Old Dirty. As far as Terry, there’s a LOT of material there. Not exactly the greatest public speaker, his age, fracking, the number of coaches/GM’s. There’s a lot more material with Terry than there is with Fred.
  22. Solid logic. You have to account for the history McDermott has with Castillo going back to Philly. I think he’ll give him more than a year to fix things. At this point, I don’t see Castillo going anywhere
  23. Stevie! The perfect person to roast. Definitely some material there - much for than Fred
  24. Grow up. This is a message board pal. We start threads. Don’t like it? Leave.
