  1. I can see Darnold as being their top choice and them viewing Mayfield as too short. The part about Rosen’s religion precluding then from drafting him is a joke.
  2. This is among, one of the most unrealistic takes on the board. If the Bills aren’t going to a take a QB, they wouldn’t trade up. Its nearly certain, that the team will move up. Only question is...how high do they go?
  3. Lineman are way easier to find than a franchise QB
  4. LOL sounds like a presidential election
  5. He’s not that bad. But with Moor as starter you can’t expect better than 8 wins. Teddy Marchibroda once said this about backup QB’s: ”They’ll win you 3 games and then they’ll lose you 3 games.” That is Matt Moore in a nutshell. Of course signing Moore 100% ensures the team is all in on a drafting a QB high.
  6. To everyone on the fence, I deliberately didn’t add that as an option because I feel most people would choose that one. Its a tough question but you have to make a choice: success or failure?
  7. So there was a great discussion on WGR this weekend from their JV squad about Tyrod Taylor. Joe and Brayton I believe. I think they are usually the guys producing the shows and don’t listen to these chaps - but they were really good. Anyway someone posed a very tough question...Was The Tyrod Taylor zeta Successful? It’s a question I’m struggling with quite a bit. I can see both sides of the argument here: YES: It was successful if you never viewed Tyrod as the answer at QB and more of a bridge. He successfully moved the team away from the failed EJ Manuel experiement and was a clear upgrade over veteran Matt Cassell. He was a lower tier free agent that outplayed his contract - even when he was resigned to a larger deal. The Bills probably waited one year too long to draft a QB, but that isn’t Tyrod’s fault. Also the team could have built an offense around Tyrod’s skill set, especially in 2017. Again, not his fault. From a numbers standpoint you can point to the playa he extended and his NFL low INT’s as a starting QB The most convincing factor for a “yes” vote? The first QB to play in a playoff game for he Bills in 17 years. Enough said. NO: Tyrod’s record as a starter says it all 23-22. He was a mediocre starting QB and you can’t call that a success. His bleak record when trailing by 4 points speaks volumes. He rarely came through in the 4th when the Bills were trailing and he also never took over a game through he air like the great QB’s do. He didn’t throw many INT’s but his risk aversion also left many points on the board as the team lost many low scoring football games . He struggled with short to intermediate throws and some might attribute frequent injuries to WR’s to that fact. Tyrod (and the Bills coaches) also never seemed to have an answer to defenses that effectively schemed against him. This was very apparent many times throughout his career - most recent against Jacksonville in the playoffs. So what do you say? Success of Failure. Make your voice heard!!!!
  8. I can agree with your assessment of Chan but I think you are actually undervaluing him as an OC. He was very good and like you said - he got the most out of a very limited roster. His spread offense was a few years ahead of his time. Chan’s downfall in Buffalo wasn’t offense related. It was his inability to understand defense and/or find someone who could competently run an effective defense. Chan should have fired George Edwards after it was clear he was in over his head. He held onto him for a year too long and replaced him with the uninspiring hire of Dave Wannstedt who was equally as bad. if Chan had a defense in 2011, chances are the team makes the playoffs.
  9. This is a no-brainer. But people assume that Cousin will take the team that offers him the biggest contract. I'm not so sure that happens. Minnesota and Denver (to a lesser extent) present much better situations. If either of those teams are in the ballpark, I think Cousins signs with them
  10. This website it total crap....anyone who believes the fake news on that site is out of their mind
  11. When though? In 2018 or 2019? I wouldn’t sign Bradham and then draft a MLB this year. I think MLB is one of those positions where rookies can step right and play well. Wouldn’t do much good to have him sit
  12. He’s a sure fit in this defense but probably has just 2-3 (at most) of playing at a high MLB level. The move would not surprise me, but as some point you have to think McDermott wants a “Luke Kuechly” for his defense.
  13. I misread it but the same is true. An OT doesn’t win you championships. Same difference. if you can hit on a QB you are set for decade in the NFL. I think you have to take that and fortunately it looks like the Bills will do it
  14. A good DT doesn’t win you championships.
  15. Matt Moore is not that bad of a QB. Actually he’s pretty decent and you can argue he might have more success than Cutler did with Miami. Id be ok with Moore as starter while a rookie sits next season
  16. But he really isn’t much better than “average at best.” He does not get very much pressure from the edge. He does hold the edge fairly well in the run game, but in McDermott’s defense your front 4 need to do a better job rushing the passer. I’m fine with moving on from Shaq for a 4th round pick
  17. You are assuming Glenn, himself, can stay in an upright position. A huge assumption to make after last season
  18. If anything he overachieved and turned into a pretty nice player. I don’t think he’s a fit for the defense and probably too expensive to sign for ST’s
  19. Cover 1 is a fan blog. Hardly a reputable source
  20. I disagree. If the BN is writing a story about this, there’s at least one paragraph about the analytics team of the past.
  21. Looks a bit like Russ Brandon to me
  22. Sometimes I just get a kick out of Chris Brown’s “reporting.” Case and point, the article below about the Bills hiring Luis Guilamo to head the analytics department. http://m.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Bills-front-office-and-analytics-dept-will-be-two-way-street/0ca530e0-953d-4513-843a-fdc5d795011a My issue with the article is that If you read it for the time, you would think that this is the Bills first foray into building an analytics department. Like this a brand new development that the team has never tried before. Meanwhile, the team has had a robust analytics department since 2013 as you’ll read from an earlier Brown article from that same year: http://m.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Bills-launch-analytics-department-with-hire-of-Lyons/3bf96f90-a18a-4845-aaae-2d20cc83d72b Oddly enough, in the 2018 article Brown makes no mention of the analytics department or Beane’s attempt to move the dept into a new direction. Or even the fact that Guilamo was replacing former Director Michael Lyons. Why didn’t he mention that relevant information? My guess is because it would remind fans that the previous version of the analytics department wasn’t successful. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like that’s relevant information to the story which should have been mentioned. I do know that Brown considers himself to be a journalist that covers the team in same way a beat writer would. But he often gets criticized for bias...and here’s another reason why.
  23. Make no mistake about it....Denver is trying to clear space to make a run at Cousins. They will be players
