  1. So Zay Jones returned to practice today after a disappointing rookie year and an a bizarre incident in the off-season which cost him the entire OTA’s and the start of training camp. Question is - is Zay Jones a lock to make the roster. On one hand it seems like a no brained. He was a second round draft pick, and while he did fail to meeting expectations, he still is a higher pick. But while we can speculate, we have no idea what happened this off-season. There’s a good chance the Bills do and it could be worse than we expect. Also remember, Zay is not a Brandon Beane guy. He was drafted before Beane arrived, and while McDermott likely had a big hand in his selection, remember Beane has control of the 53. Then there’s the emergence of WR’s like Malachy Dupree, Cam Phillips, and Reuben Foster (to a lesser extent). One of two of those WR’s could conceivably take Zay’s roster. It seems like Kelvin Benjamin, and Jeremy Kerley are the locks in the roster. Everyone else seems to be muddled together fighting for one of 4 roster spots. I don’t think it’s likely that Zay doesn’t make the team, but I don’t think it’s a lock either. Curious to to hear your thoughts.
  2. Dwight Clark? Chris Collingsworth? Willie F’N McGinnest!?!?!? Sounds like the NFL Films crew is running out of subjects. I cant wait for “A Football Life: Jeff Wright”
  3. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/08/03/report-giants-sign-leonard-johnson/ Looks like Leonard has signed with New York Giants and his former GM “Gentleman” Dave Gettleman. I wish the the best for Leonard. The dude could tackle but he was hit or miss in coverage. Overall I think he had a good year with Buffalo. I think his dropped INT against NYJ was the perfect metaphor of his career. It could have been a major momentum swing. Instead the Jets blew them out.
  4. He looked like a rookie in his debut. I don’t think you can really take anything else away other than that. It’s way too early to use his limited work as a way to evaluate him as a QB.
  5. I agree...signing him is worth a shot....but the way people here are carrying on they are making it out like this is a big time signing. NE is getting a player on the downside of his career
  6. It’s not 2011 anymore.... there’s a reason Decker has been a free agent for so long. Don’t expect anything crazy from him, though bring with the GOAT is not going to hurt
  7. Cool....so now licensed realtors are watching film and evaluating NFL talent. #streetcred
  8. Man these monster threads are unreadable. It’s destroying this forum
  9. If you listen to the recent Bills Beat podcast Joe B goes into greater detail on AW. He says he has not had a memorable camp and has only flashed in maybe 1 out of every 10 plays during drills... not good. He also isnt sold on where he can play in the 4-3. He said he was not good in the “1” technique last year and he hasn’t been impressive at “3” technique this year. Someone like a Ricky Hatley might be more what they are looking for in the defense. I think there’s a great chance Adolphus doesn’t make the 53 man roster - either as a cut or trade
  10. They are rotating players at Center just like they are at QB.
  11. Pinto Ken? I think you mean Pinto Ron....unless it’s his son
  12. Gotcha.... I do remember Leon demanding a trade. I believe we traded him to Philly for a low draft pick, and he did next to nothing the rest of his career. I had no idea about the contract drama with Dusty
  13. I followed the team pretty close since 1990 and I have no idea why you’d associate Leon Seals and Dusty Ziegler as traitors. But you seem like a very intelligent and classy individual. I’m sure you’ll enlighten the community. BTW...I stand by what I wrote Norwood sucked in 1990. He was replaced two years too late
  14. Any Bills fan with one brain cell can observe how Wright was blown off the ball consistently in the run game. He was decent as rushing the passer as a NT
  15. Yeah that’s right. There were several games where he missed easy FG’s and even worse automatic XP’s. He had a great 1988 season and decent 1989 but a shaky 1990 and a worse 1991. Had Polian had the foresight to be proactive about the kicker situation, the Bills might have won Super Bowl 25.
  16. Very true... if there were any big holes in Polian’s roster during that time it was: A. Jeff Wright - a serviceable DL but was too small and pushed around vs more physics lineman. B. Scott Norwood - he hit the wall in 1990/91. Never should have been back in 1991 and 1992. He was missed easy PAT’s for goodness sake
  17. Hilarious that “Hot Stuff” Rick Dennison blew the blocking assignment. Also did you hear the announced throw shade at Jeff Wright? “One of the few tackles made by Jeff Wright. He’s been getting pushed around today.” LOL. I’ve been saying for years....Wright was the weak link of the defense
  18. It appears some of the folks over at OBD might be reading our forum. Several of you suggested signing former NYG RB Orleans Darkwa. It now appears he is at St. John Fisher getting a tryout. https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/report-bills-worked-out-running-back-orleans-darkwa
  19. Seems to me that the Pegulas want to build a new stadium but want some state assistance so they don’t have to fund it entirely on their own. They are posturing here with local politicians in hopes of getting some public $$$
  20. This was a really fun list with some great names. I would also add Willis McGahee and maybe Donte Whitner
  21. The Raiders in 2014 were not a top team, but there is little doubt that the game in LA was a “must win” to keep their playoff hopes alive. In fact, if they win that game they had a pretty good chance to get in. Point is, in big games Mario was a non-factor. This has been proven many times. He did have a huge sack against GB but if Jordy Nelson doesn’t drop a sure fire TD it would be all for naught.
  22. I think it all goes down to the roster philosophy of Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott. They seem to really focus on building through the draft and finding “their guys.” So far they haven’t really taken chances on veterans with injury histories. McDermott is very big on availability and so don’t see them counting on a player like Bowman.
