  1. I would be ok with a 2020 #1 but I’m pretty sure Oakland won’t take that deal
  2. The Bills really value high draft picks, especially the 2019 selection. As good as Mack is, I think they would be crazy to give up a 2019 #1. They won’t admit it publicly but when you are faced with the prospect of starting a rookie QB or an improved QB, you have to brace yourself to take a step backward. Is Mack worth what could be a Top 5 pick?
  3. The OP makes some decent points. I do think the LB’s could be a weak spot with Tremaine going through some growing pains. I also do think that the pass rush is somewhat suspect. We know what Jerry Hughes can do but it doesn’t look like Shaq will ever be a big time pass rusher. The Bills are hoping Trent Murphy can give them a lift but he has yet to take a pre-season snap. I disagree on the secondary - I think that White is a solid CB and Davis is still capable on the other side. Hyde and Poyer are also very good. The starting secondary is easily the strength of the defense. Sure the depth is somewhat questionable and injuries could have a huge effect but you can say that at any position in the NFL
  4. The individual results? Or the collective results as a whole?
  5. Nah I think most kept him. Bigger question is whether the bills will keep 4 RB’s. It’s between Jones or Cadet or no one
  6. LOL same here. Looks like Tanner Vallejo has a spot now
  7. Some interesting results. We've gotten around 40 entries so far. Here's what fans think about the WR and TE positions:
  8. Damn....let’s just see how he plays this week
  9. By the way, if you count your selections you’ll see it’s pretty tough to limit your roster to 53 players. Keeping 3 QB’s, 7 WR’s, or 3 TE’s definitely makes it even more challenging
  10. Many of us often try to forecast or predict which players will make the Bills final 53 man roster. It got me thinking -- How cool would it be to have member of TSW predict the 53 man roster before the final roster cuts on September 1? So here is GUESS THE FINAL 53! I went to the Bills website and created a Google Form where you can select which players make the team and which ones will get cut. Once the final roster comes out, we'll be able to get an overall score for your submission. There are 53 players on the team and each correct name will be worth 2 points. The maximum score will be 106. I will post the Top 10 winners here after the roster comes out on 9/1. FYI - the only information needed is your TSW username. No names or emails will be necessary. Hopefully you'll participate in this fun challenge to see who can predict the final 53! 11. That...and the fact he’s a 2nd round pick. He wasn’t a Beane pick but was a McDermott guy. Cutting a 2nd round pick in year 2 looks very bad
  12. I agree with you 100%. The Bills love this guy for his leadership, special teams ability and the fact that he is somewhat competent at WR for a few plays when needed Interesting....I thought Ray Ray was a burner but I guess not. So you think they are keeping 7 WR’s? I can see it happening but they already will be heavy at QB and maybe TE.
  13. True but do they keep Coleman at the expense of a Ray Ray McLeod? He can also stretch the field, play KR/PR, and has had a productive preseason at WR. I don’t think Coleman is as solid as some do
  14. Confused Andre Holmes with Andre Davis. Though I do wish we had Andre Davis in his prime
  15. Problem is, we are already keeping 3 QB’s on the roster. It’s possible the Bills might keep 4 TE’s. I don’t think they have the numbers to keep 7 WR’s. Keeping Coleman likely means cutting Ray Ray. Not sure that will happen
  16. Interesting conversation from Sal Carpaccio on WGR this morning. He thinks Rod Streater’s basically solidified a roster spot. That means that the top 5 WR are filled with: WR1: Benjamin WR 2: Jones WR 3: Kerley WR 4: Holmes WR 5: Streater That leaves quite the competition for WR including: Corey Coleman Ray Ray McLeod Austin Prohl Brandon Reilly Malachi Dupre Kalin Clay Cam Phillips Bob Foster Does Buffalo keep 7 WR’s? Maybe but I’m betting against it. You have a group of WR’s competing for 1 spot. I remember Beane saying as a GM you don’t want to cut draft picks. He almost certainly will this year but will be cut McLeod a 6th round or Prohl who he drafted in the 7th and has a personal relationship with. Then there’s Coleman. Has he done enough to even beat out a McLeod? Is his potential and past high draft status enough to warrant a spot? Or does the fact the Bills invested a future pick mean he’s sticking around? And then there are guys like Reilly, Clay and Dupre who the Bills like but might not have the room. Who do you have as the final WR on this roster?
  17. I disagree on Sully. The perception of Bills fans vs. the actual opinion of those in the industry on Jerry Sullivan is night and day. Sully is respected and highly thought of as a great writer. He hasn’t ruined anything. Some people here are so delusional. With that that being said, I don’t necessarily see his style fitting in with The Athletic, especially in the Buffalo scene. He’s more of an op-Ed columnist, and the majority of the coverage is from Beat reporters, features, or analysis articles. I am sure Sully will turn up in the media again whenever a good opportunity comes along. Right now I’m sure he’s content taking a break from the rat race and living on his severance package.
  18. The Athletic had little to do with Bucky and Sully leaving. It’s more of an example of the BN donwsizing by trying to get rid of veteran (and perhaps higher salaried) employees, after a bad quarter. In fact, The Athletic wasn’t even launched until after they left. Does it currenty have an effect? Probably on digital. I’m sure they are going to rework their strategy for The BN Blitz which has been a miserable failure. Print is print though. I don’t see subscribers of the newspaper leaving for The Athletic
  19. I’m with you.... I am at the point where I don’t feel the coverage from The Athletic is worth subscribing to. I am sure that the coverage/articles are very good - I’m just not convinced it’s worth paying for
  20. From the Jags standpoint, I don’t think it has very much to do with Marrone. Marrone might be a big real why the Bills fans hate Jacksonville. Also the fact that the Bills, and Tyrod Taylor, essentially blew a winnable playoffs thanks to a putrid offensive display. The reason Jacksonville fans hate the Bills is because of the playoff weekend last season. The Bills Mafia was in full force, and many Jags fans believe that the Bills trashed their city and set fires in the parking lot.
  21. Big knock on EJ was that he couldn’t stay healthy for an entire season. In his 3 years in the NFL he’s never played all 16 games.
  22. Great autograph....I’d frame that because it might be a great piece of memorabilia. I do think Josh is well-aware of the discussions around his career in the media. I remember at the NFL he threw an autographed hat to a fan and joked “accuracy!” He also joked with local reporters on draft day about his stats. Seems like he has a good-natured yet depreciating sense of humor
  23. Not really.... a possible replacement maybe, but McDermott said Kyle is week to week, meaning he won’t miss much of the season - if any
  24. Thanks for the merge....didn’t realize there was another thread on the exact same topic. Great minds think alike!
  25. It seems to me that there are many fans, reporters and analysts who seem to want to see Josh Allen fail. This has trickled all the way down to the fans as well. If you recall, many fans were livid that the Bills selected Allen while Rosen was on the board. But why? One year ago, Allen was in contention to be the #1 overall pick and considered the best QB in the draft. It’s because many in the media were certain that Allen was going to be bust based on factors from college. Many fans didn’t really give a damn about Wyoming football and the majority likely never watched more than 1 game (if that) Yet many in the media seemed to be all in on the narrative that Allen was a bad prospect. Bills fans were downright depressed because they assumed the Warren Sharp’s of the world knew more football than the Brandon Beane’s. It continues today. It started in training camp when on really bad screw pass went vital. Then despite two pretty good performances in preseason, there are some that want to make excuses. IMO it’s way too early to determine if Allen will be a good QB or not. But I just don’t think he gets a fair shake from the media, who In turn has a negative effect on fans. I think many of the “football analytics” want to prove that their methods of analysis are superior in many ways - including scouting. Just like Moneyball, they want to quantify the process of scouting which conflicts with the traditional scouting measures. It’s kind of old school vs. new school. Using their metrics, Allen will fail in the NFL. I legit think they want to be right so they said “we told you so” as a way to prove their methods as accurate. I think we all see the negative media bias against Allen. Question is, where does it come from?
