Which player do you want the Bills to cut
BuffaloRush replied to BBills88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Andre Holmes...gives the Bills very little at WR -
Winfield was underrated. Very good tackler and great cover man. Never got the acclaim because he didn’t put up INT numbers but he was a solid member of some great Bills defenses. Losing him in free agency definitely hurt

THE FINAL 53 CHALLENGE: Results are In!!!
BuffaloRush replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Final warning....if you’d like to get in on predicting the 53 man roster, the form will close later tonight. As soon as the final 53 is announced, I’ll assign points for the correct selections and post the top 10. Also I’ve added a few entires from members of the Buffalo Media that did a mock 53. I have heard that Matthew Fairburn did a mock as well. I don’t subscribe to the Athletic but if anyone here could send me his selections or submit the form as “Matthew Fairburn (The Athletic)” it would be very much appreciated! -
Jalen Ramsey: Gronk is overrated
BuffaloRush replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s almost becoming a parody. Basically ask Jalen what he thinks about any decent QB or WR, and he’ll say something like “he trash.” -
This year’s Bills team will get more leeway than any other team over the past 17 years since they finally made the playoffs. I think the Bills could have bad season, and fans will not as impatient in the past because “the drought” is not looming over their heads. The examples of OC’s you shared though were not the best though. Yes Roman was Rex’s scapegoat after a horrendous start to the year. I thought he was a pretty good OC. Still I don’t think fans were calling to fire him. Hackett was really never fired. He walked away when Marrone resigned. Or maybe Rex got rid of him but he technically wasn’t fired as a scapegoat. Fans definitely questioned Dennison as an OC, which could definitely be justified given the offensive struggles last season. But he was not fired as a scapegoat. McDermott easily could have kept him but he made the call to a different direction

If you’ve followed the headlines about Richie the past few month, you know there’s a good chance he’s not all there. Whether it’s depression or CTE or behavior brought on by whatever substance, it seems he should focus on getting his together before he tries to play football.

O Line Troubles Start With It's Coach !!
BuffaloRush replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s certainly a compelling argument, but then again it gets into the whole chicken vs egg theory. Is it coaching or is it the players? Is Castillo not getting the most out of his players? Or is the talent that he’s coaching just not very good? IMO it’s tough to say. While you could say the line wasn’t great last year, the Bills had one of the top rushing attacks in the NFL. Yes his blocking scheme didn’t seem like it fit the talent, he did make adjustments which appeared to make a positive difference. They seemed to be getting average play out of journeymen like Jordan Mills and Vlad. This year, the Bills line has 1 solid starter in Dion Dawkins. The rest of the starters probably would be depth on half of the NFL teams, if not most. So I’m not defending Castillo - he very well could be a problem. He hasn’t coached up the talent given to him. But then again his talent hasn’t been great. -
The Next Bills QB....Ryan Zapoticky aka Kid Tutty
BuffaloRush replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You obviously don’t listen to the Bills Beat podcast then.... -
The big question is, which QB do the Bills do the Bills play in Game 4 of the preseason? Do you sit Peterman and Allen? If so, do you give all 4 quarters to AJ McCarron who is coming of a shoulder injury? The option many people are pointing to is the Bills signing a new QB for week 4 aka a “Matt Simms-like Punching Bag.” Apparently at the press confernce McDermott was asked about QB’s and he said something like “Brandon Beane is working on that.” So if the Bills sign a QB - who do they sign? The speculation is that they might sign “Mr. Camp Arm” Ryan Zapticky the former QB from Shippensberg University. Zapaticky’s heroics during OTA’s earned him the nickname “The Touchdown Kid” or “The Tutty Kid” or “Kid Tutty,” by Joe Buscaglia and Matt Fairburn. They have goofed on him during a few podcasts. For the sheer comedy, I’d love to see Kid Tutty start game 4. My other choice would be former UB QB Joe Licata. Joe used to co-host Tim Graham’s radio show and was very outspoken about some QB’s on the Bills. I’d love to see what he can do behind center to see if he can back up his words

The Final Word- Our New NGU or Dunkirk Don?
BuffaloRush replied to Jamie Nails's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dunkirk Don is truly a legend around these parts. His posts about Bills rumors and how the franchise was going to reocate to Dunkirk were amazing -
Every Josh Allen snap in Bengals Preseason Game 3
BuffaloRush replied to cd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you had to blame Allen or the OL, I think the resounding answer would be the line. Still though, you can’t give Allen a complete pass. They were not gameplanning, so I think part of evaluating him yesterday was to see how he could handle pressure. As you can see, he struggled a bit both with prediagnosing the defense and going through his reads - especially given the insane pass rush. He also seemed to be a bit gunshy about throwing the ball. He also shortarmed a throw to Clay when he could have hit him in stride. Overall though, I don’t think his numbers reflected his play. He had a few drops by Clay and Benjamin. If Benjamin makes the over-the-should catch, He was also moving the ball when the Bills punted on 4th and short. I think he did ok, but it might be a step back from he looked the past few weeks. This is to be expected and he’s basically where we all thought he’d be. -
Another great Bills Beat post-game podcast by Joe B and Matt Fairburn (See link in tweet below) Basically they said Allen showed he wasn’t ready. The OL sucked but Allen could have gotten the ball out faster and been more decisive on a few throws. Cincinatti’s defenders commented that he didn’t seem ready. The most interesting discussion was on what to do at QB. If Peterman is your starter, do you still need AJ McCarron? Also if McCarron was ready to play if necessary, why didn’t he get any reps Sunday night? This led Joe B to suggest the idea that the Bills start AJ in Game 4 as a way to showcase his ability to other teams. He’ll likely have good success running against backups in the final week of the preseason. Then after Game 4, they should trade him for anywhere between a 4th or 6th round pick. He believe that McCarron has value to other teams given his experience and reasonable contract as a solid backup Interestingly, they commented that AJ was standing by himself throughout the entire game. It made it sound like they were suggesting he was frustrated/disinchanted with his situation. What do do you think? Good idea?

I don’t know if I buy genetics completely. I do think they might play a small part. But IMO it’s more about lifestyle (diet and exercise) and mental health. It seems that once most people address their mental issues (depression, anxiety, or trauma) or external issues (lifestyle, work, personal responsibilities etc) and eat healthy and exercise they usually see results. I do agree that it’s easy to just someone who is overweight as simply being “fat and lazy” when there’s likely a lot of issues going on that we have no idea about

THE FINAL 53 CHALLENGE: Results are In!!!

There really isn’t public place where you can see the current results. I’m the owner of the form so I can view the results -
One might be kept open for a QB for Week 4. I wonder if Matt Simms is available.... Personally I would take former UB QB Joe Licatta. If you’re only going to keep a QB for a week, why not sign a guy the local fan base might be familiar with?
-
Because of the QB position. It’s looking like Peterman or Allen will be starting. We all know the history of rookie QB’s starting in year 1. Even great QB’s struggle while they learn the position their first year. Peterman is still very much unproven as a QB. A former 5th round pick, it’s logical to think there’s a chance he could struggle this year as well. These questions coupled with a few other factors, make you wonder how the team will do this year: - lack of talent at WR - questionable OL - unproven LB’s
