I understand the people saying he’ll be easily replaced but what I think they mean is his production will be easily replaced. Matthews as a player and teammate is much better than what we saw (actually we did see glimpses) and I think would have been an excellent piece for this team going forward. Not upset they’re going in a different direction but I would have loved to see him and Benjamin on a team together with a qb that is willing to throw to them. If we get one of those that is.

I kind of like the idea of Suh and Incognito on the same team. Nasty on offense, nasty on Defense. i don’t think it would happen but it’s fun to think about.

If Suh is on his way out like some are saying this seems like a lateral move. If Suh and Wake are gone. They’ve gotten worse, not better. Of course thats if they don’t make another move on top of those.

It’s tough to gauge, yes we made the playoffs but we’re actively trying to trade our qb and only have one other guy that threw five ints In one half. Some might even even see the way they’re handling Taylor in a negative light. On the other hand if he stays we’re definitely not getting receivers here unless we trade for them. He’s a stats killer.

And I never said they all come from party Meccas but you hand a 23 year old a few mil and ask where they want to spend it none are saying buffalo ny. Its just a fact. I for one like Buffalo but I’m not homer enough to believe all things being equal (money, years, etc) that they’d choose us over Miami or the like. Especially if you’re a receiver or looking to win now. We don’t have a quarterback.

I couldnt tell you exactly what they’re doing on their nights off, I’ve never had the kind of money they have to drop, or the kind of access they have to events or parties. Again, we’re trying to think like 20 year olds celebs with ridiculous cash flow. not 50 year old wny native retirees. I know it’s a stretch but at least try and take your ideals out of the equation. Their idea of a party isn’t mcmonkeys or a keg in a crappy downtown apt being rented by some college students. And its certainly not going to be going to the stuffy places filled with the quasi upper middle class folks that think they’re upper class.

I don’t think he’d trash us. In fact I think with the Pegula’s and their seemingly bottomless wallet and the big incentive deal they gave him he’d be more inclined to say good things. At least where money is involved. But i also think he’d answer questions honestly and if we’re being honest Buffalo isn’t exactly a hotbed of activity. With that hat said I’ve been to Wisconsin a bunch for work and Buffalo might as well be NYC.

I agree it’s more attractive than recent years but let’s not pretend to know what Shady says to other football players. When he’s talking to the media he’s saying all the right things. It’s what you do if you’re smart and you want those big checks to keep coming. They all do it, it’s part of the job. Fluff pieces in the news don’t enter the equation when signing. The private texts from a college teammate that played for Buff, or current bills player bud is what matters. We have no idea what they say in private.

Again, misunderstanding the point. We have salary caps, we have gms, we have front offices. Miami can’t just go out and sign every free agent they want. Do some free agents care about winning more than lifestyle? Yeah, of course. I’m talking about the majority. Is it the way I would choose a team, no. But you ask most 20 year old millionaires and I’m telling you, with all things being even they’re picking Miami. Again, you guys can dispute it but it really just goes to show how out of touch you are with the reality of the situation. You have to be able to see it from all perspectives, but mainly The perspective of a youth coming from poverty and instantly becoming a millionaire. Seeing it from a middle class, 30-45 year old white males perspective isn’t reality in the nfl.

I can prove points by cherry picking examples too. I don’t have the time or drive for that. If you think all things (money) being even an absurdly large percentage of young millionaires don’t choose Miami over Green Bay or Buffalo you’re either incredibly myopic with little life experience, a Buffalo homer, or you haven’t visited Miami (with loads of disposable cash) or Wisconsin.

I shouldn’t have to explain this a grown man but that comes down to the front office and what they’re looking for and willing to spend. If Green Bay is offering the same amount of money to a FA as Miami you’d better believe they’re picking Miami.

People put too much stock into this. Just face it, we’re a cold weather, small market team. That isn’t very attractive to 20 something year old millionaires. They’d prefer Miami over Green Bay. It’s just the way it is. Luckily we we have a billionaire owner that seems to be very good at selling people on the idea of Buffalo. If you’re going to be an undesirable location, you need a good hype man, or a lot of money. Pegs is both.

I don’t think anyone “needs” any other entertainment except the game but why limit the amount of entertainment you’re getting for the price of admission? Do i I care if the Jills came back, no. If they got rid of the drums would I stop going, no. But just because I don’t care for it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its merit. Should we get rid of all gps and mapping functions on an iPhone because I don’t use it? You know the answer to that. It’s a silly thing to imagine that because you’re not interested in something it could/should go away. A bit egomaniacal even.

This may be a case of nostalgia clouding the reality of the situation. I think if most are being honest the Jills much like the Bills of the last 17 years lacked a certain level of talent. Drums ftw.

Agree. On no plane of existence was O'Leary disappointing. He may not knock your hair back, but he overperformed all reasonable expectations. Its a bit difficult to judge what we have receiving wise. Only rarely did we ever see a receiver given a chance to make a play or catch the ball with room to work. Hard to know exactly what we have.
