  1. Speak for yourself. I’m just waiting for the exact right moment to say that the Jets, Phins, and Pats all got much better than us.
  2. I realize that “about” isn’t an exact amount of time. But it does lead one to believe its happening soonish. Maybe a title change is in order?
  3. So you’re just an angry fella who is opposed to fun in any capacity? Got it, thanks!
  4. What else do we have to do? Better question, why does it bother you to the point of all caps?
  5. I think Kyle Fuller is a little more realistic than Mack, but even that seems a little unrealistic.
  6. Interest is just that, interest. I bet we sent feelers in on everyone where we had mild interest. We just kept getting priced out. They probably knew they weren’t going to be able to get many of these guys, especially if they’re getting day one kind of offers. But I’d prefer they tried and got priced out than just sitting back. We’re looking for deals, can’t get them if you don’t make an offer.
  7. A player that plays for a team that couldn’t beat the Bills is talking about how to beat the Bills? Please, the wind was a major factor in that game. They can’t really take anything from that game defensively as the offense couldn’t even get In their usual rhythm. Itll be a whole different beast if they have to cover those receivers without wind being an issue. As for their offense, we know exactly how to beat them and we have.
  8. I grew up with Thurman and never watched OJ play, but I do know Oj was our offense back then, he was getting 100+ games when opposing teams knew he was getting the ball, he was that special. Thurman will always have a place in Bills fandom but he’s not widely considered one of the very best. Oj is and for good reason. Oj may have had Jimmy B, but Thurman had 101 hall of famers to share the field with. That opens some thing ups.
  9. I don’t really remember a first memory. It was just something that always seemed to be on in the background. I do remember when I first started watching and kind of caring I hated Defense. I would go to a friends house and we would just watch the offense and then go outside and play football or whatever and when the offense came back out his family would yell for us to come back in.
  10. Why do people think we can afford that kind of move in a position we’re mostly set at? This isnt the old Bills, we have to prioritize now. If we spend that kind of money it will be at a position of serious need. When you’re a team in our position you sign aged vets for one or two years and have to draft well for everything else. This isn’t your grandmas Bills.
  11. I agree with your point overall but I’d prefer to spend the money of the DL and draft everything else. But hey, Beane’s a wizard. Maybe he can pull off both.
  12. Yes, in the draft. For a good team like the Bills you have many players you have to pay. Not only do amazing young DE’s not hit free agency but if they do we won’t be able to afford them. It’s the price of being a good team that has good players to pay. You buy a few decent vets for a few years, while drafting and hoping to hit. It doesn’t make for an exciting first week of free agency but the seasons should be a lot of fun.
  13. I think they’re pretty comfortable where they are in terms of wide receivers. Especially with Gabe coming into his own. I think that even at a reduced price they would prefer to just put that money elsewhere. I have to agree with them here. I liked Brown but it was time to move on. I think they believed it was best to cut him than insult him with what they’d be willing to spend for his replacement if they’re even planning to bring one in. They still have Hodgins waiting in the wings and they seemed pretty high on him.
  14. Well yeah, but we’re in no position to sign up every youngish all-star that comes along. We have to do the one or two year options on older free agents and draft well. Welcome to being a good team and having to pay your franchise players club. It makes for less exciting offseasons but much better football seasons. I get that it’s hard to wrap your head around being that we haven’t been in this position for a long time but I think a lot of folks are going to be disappointed by what we can actually get away with in the coming years of free agency. With that said, I do expect some fun signings this year.
  15. I wasn’t so bothered that he wanted to get the most out of his free agency. He was basically the only one, it’s a rare situation to be in and he deserved it. My issue was the pay, I also wanted him but not for 15mil 23 guaranteed. You can get two real contributors for that. Not to mention there’s no guarantee he can get the production he used to get. 23 guaranteed for a guy with 9 sacks in two years? You’re basically paying for the name and past production.
  16. This is where I am. Obviously i’d like him on the team but if it’s true that he’s getting 15-16 million dollar offers I’m not as excited about it. I really feel like we can get two real contributors for that money and the concern about Watt producing at a high level is very real. Unless they truly believe the leadership/motivation intangibles are what this team really needs. Idk, I have my reservations but I guess I do trust Beane to do the right thing. Im not overly concerned that he hasn’t chosen us by now. There’s a lot to consider and Green Bay isn’t chopped liver. Also, I don’t know how exciting our D line would appear to play on. Many players never get this kind of free agency experience, and he’s basically alone in it right now. I don’t begrudge him the opportunity to soak in as much as he can.
  17. He’s a player in a position of need, and he’s the only guy that can be signed right now. Not to mention our team appears to be one of the teams still in contention to get him. Of course we’re going to talk about it. Whether you agree with the signing or not, it’s extremely relevant to the team and you’re in a football message board in the offseason. What would you prefer we talk about? We’re open to suggestions.
  18. Man, it’s gotten to the point where one man can’t make snap judgement assumptions about another man by his avatar. If this is the way America is headed i’m moving to Canada! Give me old America any time. Gluten in my bread, Randal Cunningham is the hottest thing to hit the NFL, and you can call a man a curmudgeonly crankster and no one even bats an eye.
  19. No apologies needed. The Superman gif cut pretty deep, but I think I just might make it through this ordeal with a mild sedative. I think you’re taking this exchange a little too seriously. If my carrot top reference didn’t make it clear, I’m obviously joking around. I will say your avatar gives off strong hints of being a HUGE Colin Kaepernick fan.
  20. Bingo! It’s not like it’s hieroglyphs or anything.
  21. Yeah, I mean, it felt flea markety to me. If he had a pic of Carrot top or something I’d know exactly what was going on.
  22. How am I supposed to be able to tell around here? For every comment meant in jest there are two or three that are completely serious. It’s not like we have a previous rapport I can go off of, plus your avatar doesn’t give off jokester vibes to me. It has a bit of a curmudgeonly crankster feel to it.
  23. It’s healthy to have reasonable goals and expectations. Especially when someone else is in charge of the negotiations. The Bills fanbase can donate 2 million dollars to JJ’s charity. If the Bills offer 7 million less to him than the Browns it wouldn’t matter one bit. It’s all in Beane and Watt’s hands now. I understand it’s not a comfortable position to be in but here we are.
  24. People from a bunch of fan bases (Bills included) have already donated to his charity and he’s already mentioned it. It’ll come down to the contract and his preference. A few hundred/thousand dollars donated by fans isn’t going to change anything.
  25. Everyone’s taking a turn on this photo. Browns fans are saying he’s joining the Dawg Pound because of the dogs in the photo.
