[closed]Why the rush to Peterman this week......
Jerome007 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well he's right. Most people suffer from the "grass is greener on the other side" except for a lots of Bills fans. It's like only this team has holes, has made bad decisions, we're doomed anyway and on and on. TBH, I'm not convinced at all the Bills will end the drought this year, but I won't be screaming about tanking and that they have no chanche, and that the two games vs the Pats are already lost and on and on. WTH is that about? And I hate the constant tanking talk. Some of the current key players are getting up there in age. As with any team, if the Bills draft well sure it might pay great dividends.. mostly in 2019 and beyond. And while that would mean some positions are greatly improved, some will regress for sure, and most will stay about the same, so it makes no sense for a coach and GM to "tank"! This move to Peterman might be a blessing, a curse, or neither, but I'm sure they did it cause they think it can improve the chance to win, not to lose the rest of the year! -
I'm curious in regards to Tyrod's skill set
Jerome007 replied to SinatraSinger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he a starter? Hell yes in at least 15 teams. We'll see if Peterman is better, and hopefully he is, but Tyrod sure was better than any other Bills QB while he was here besides NP if he pans out. Is he a superstar? Nope. Lack of audibles, passes down the middle, lack of anticipation, not reading all the filed, etc. We all saw his limitations. But he sure had strengths too. -
Jerry Jones racially insensitive remark video
Jerome007 replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The comment infers that there is something uniquely negative based on skin color. This is a racist remark. There is no excuse for it. Ha come on. Besides supposing his fiance was White (and maybe he was seeing her on the phone?) you have to really interpret what is saying to find racism. Smart joke? Of course not. But damn people are waaaayyyy too sensitive these days. -
Jerry Jones racially insensitive remark video
Jerome007 replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah that was really bad. And without motive. At least here you know that many people dislike the Cowboys and Jones, and that in any case it will draw viewers. But still. Media don't care much about ethics these days. -
Jerry Jones racially insensitive remark video
Jerome007 replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just looked at the video. Wow. There is something there? Really? He just made a bad joke, and a "black girl" happened to be there hence the stupid joke. To make this an issue just shows how dumb the current PC climate is. -
Man, just like you guys, I'm full of renewed enthusiasm and think he can really deliver. But I rationally know the "think" in that first sentence should be replaced by "hope". We just don't know. And our expectations and hopes are so high that the mood won't be for Peterman to develop but to be good right away. Hey, it'd be awesome if he wins right away but we have to give rookie QBs and players a chance too! Yet who wants to see this year wasted? Not me! I don't care about next year's draft if Incognito and Kyle are getting too old, if Shady slows down, etc. So many holes, the Bills have to win NOW. They will improve in some areas next year BUT also regress! No better time than NOW

Goodwin played today after losing his son
Jerome007 replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. That was quite emotional to watch knowing the reason. I can't believe he played that game. As for Badol... you just too dense to get it don't you? Even if all you wrote were true, there is a TIME AND SPACE for everything. Yeah humans are imperfect beings, so? What makes you the all-mighty one to **** on him in THIS thread, for that specific situation? You'd go to a funeral to mention the dead guy stole a cookie from you in high school -
Opinion/Theory - Is this team being over-coached?
Jerome007 replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel exactly like you state blacklabel, but I write "feel" not "know", as obviously we're not inside the team. Anyway, let's hope it gets better from now on. Just the run defense getting back to early season form would be quite a change! -
Can"t wait to see what he's got. But his 27 TD / 7 Int college stat shows that he protects the ball. Though very few QBs do that as well as Tyrod so we all have to expect a lot more picks, especially from a rookie! But I didn't realize before that vid that he played with Jones. That will help a lot! In that respect, Tyrod got a raw deal as too often he played with new receivers. A few missed passes this year have been from out-of-sync between him and the new receivers. Imagine for a guy that has been 2nd QB - he barely had time to get a feel for most of his guys so that will account for some INTs right there. But I admit from his podium interview Peterman seems to have the "it" factor you look for in a QB. We'll see. The change had to be made IMO. Two bad games in a row and an overall subpar year made it almost necessary. The risk is still big for THIS year as if NP ain't good enough, playoffs are again a thing deferred. But for 2018 and beyond, they had to know if Peterman can play as Tyrod wouldn't have been retained with his current contract anyway. In many ways TT got a raw deal with the WR situation, the Dennison offense that doesn't seem fitting for him, and on and on. But he got his chance to be a starter for 2.5 years, got great money to live out 20 lifetimes, so I won't be crying too hard even though I wished he had succeeded big time. He was exciting at times way more than anyone since Flutie. I loved how he made people miss their tackles. But yep, time for a change. Hell if he's back later because NP stinks or is injured, and plays with a new fire and less conservative, who knows what can happen!

Super video. As for the "national experts" and their constant rambling on draft rankings. Let's take the two best QBs in the league: Aaron Rodgers: 24th overall pick. Ann what about a certain Tom Brady who was selected with pick #199, a compensatory pick, in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft? And how many first rounders and even first picks QB went bust? And in all positions for that matter, there have been 1st-2nd round busts and undrafted players that had awesome careers. So stupid this emphasis on draft placement. What matters is how Peterman performs in the NFL! Just like how the Bills performed against the Chargers in the 90s don't matter to what will happen this Sunday.

Yes we all saw it for a long while, and of course it was so much on display in the last 2 games, where TT wouldn't even risk an INT to get some points when BEHIND on the score. But he also had awesome improvising strength that does the opposite and make some OC look good. He's a unique mix of glaring weaknesses and very efficient strong points. But you can't be a starting QB for 2.5 years in the NFL, have been in the league for almost 7 years, and still see little of the field, almost never throw with anticipation, never audible... WTH! I was a big supporter but he barely improved, and even regressed in some areas. Dennison and Catillo are to blame too though! More than him. But since he was gone anyway with the way his contract his made, the time to test Peterman is now. And for all that has been said of Tyrod's strength and shortfalls, he might still be better than NP! Hopefully not as it'd mean this season is over. We'll find out Sunday. One thing is sure, NP has more ceiling, more upside.
-
What? Since they benched Flutie how many playoff wins? What are your criteria for what's "best for the franchise"? They better have made a better move this time!
-
BOOM Lorax is awesome on special teams, and indeed could help the pass rush. Milano outplayed Humber big time.

How quickly does love turn to hate?
Jerome007 replied to Maine-iac's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with joesixpack to let the coaches do their thing and wait it out... except the OC and OL coach. The Greg Roman style offense scored points and the run game was among or THE best. Yet they changed all that, we all see the un-originality, the easy to predict patterns, the fact Tyrod couldn't be... Tyrod, the sudden OL stuggles. I'd replace Dennison for sure. At least Peterman is probably a much better fit, so we'll see. Hey, as most fans, I want them to succeed, not to fire anyone! But the burden is on them. -
I agree with the original post and called for that myself. As TT and NP seem so different, it would be a nightmare to defend them both in the same game, whether on different plays or together on the field. Ego is such a strong thing for the QB position, though, sadly, that regardless of Dennison, it's hard to do in reality. The Steelers used these kind of "gimmicks" because they had the personal to do so!!! Adapt your schemes to your players!! The one thing I dislike about this current situation, is hearing how Tyrod wasn't a good fit for a Dennison offense. WTH! Adapt to the players you have!
-
I agree with you 100%! First and foremost, as you state first, he might not be done in Buffalo just yet! It depends on how Peterman pans out! Just like I wished TT lit it up, I wish the same for Peterman but let's wait till he plays shall we? Just like you I wished he would have gone for it and throw some contested balls to WR when behind on the scoreboard. I looooooooved his protecting the ball in close games or while ahead, and even the "haters" will soon realize how great he was at that, but when behind, WTH! It's like his TD-Int ratio stats mattered more than winning, and that's inexcusable. Throw it! So he didn't throw INTs... yet he threw away his starter status. He sure gave us some thrilling moments, more than any QB since Flutie, but his lack of improving and conservatism did him in. But again, we might see him again if Peterman fails. So in essence, I wish the Bills made the right switch. With so much $$$ due to TT in 2018, he had to show without the shadow of a doubt he was THE man, and he didn't. So he might have be gone anyway. Much better for the team to see what NP has got! The one thing I dislike, is reading "TT wasn't a good fit in a "Dennison offense". Grrrr. The coaches have to adapt to the players they have dammit!

If Tyrod's the Starter, Then Why....?
Jerome007 replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taylor's inability to make the quick throw, the initial issue, is still the issue. Nathan Peterman is able to make these throws. It sure is. The Jets destroyed that more than the Saints. But... Peterman has probably flaws that Tyrod doesn't have. And as he is more typical, it should not take long for opposing defenses to figure out. But he deserves a chance. In an ideal non-ego driven world, I'd play BOTH, heck sometimes even at the same time, as they'd be a nightmare to defend as they seem to have totally different styles. I know this though: if I was a wide receiver or even a tight end, I'd want the QB switch! -
Phillip Rivers enters concussion protocol
Jerome007 replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha. Yes, I think we should be. I still can't get how the run defense went from top notch to one of the worst ever, so my head hurts! But yeah, a backup QB could make the Bills stack the box and stop those awful run plays up the gut... hopefully -
Yeah I too have been on TT's side but that was too much. Lack of audibles is REALLY weird, we need to know why, and his "2 minute drills" are not awesome, though in THAT aspect he's improved for sure IMO. But he has regressed in accuracy and we see none of his previously beautiful deep throws. We don't know what the Bills have in Peterman, and my gut tells me other teams would figure him out quick if the lack of arm strength reports are accurate. But 58 yards? To me the lack of the overrated 300 passing yard games didn't concern me at all, but 58 yards? Come on! I sure hope he's on a short leash and Peterman has his chance if Tyrod stinks up the place next time around. The wide receivers would be happy that's for sure. Tight ends too probably. Something has to change.

Bills defense since week 5 among worst in NFL
Jerome007 replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No true. The run defense was impressive, even in preseason, and the secondary added to it with INT at the right times. This is was boggles the mind: how come the run defense has gone downhill all of a sudden? From very good to super awful? And Dareus was injured and played little for most of the "good stretch" so that's not the main reason - though he would help clog the middle for sure and free up linebackers. -
When the game is close or the Bills are ahead, I'm so glad for a QB like TT who won't throw interceptions. It seems to me people forget how bad many INTs are for momentum, killing drives, leaving points of the board, etc. But when behind, he STILL refuses to throw to his wideouts and let'em fight for the ball. That is stupid. Like his INT stats matter more than winning. He only had one throw that could have been intercepted yesterday. Clay is the cause for the one INT, not Tyrod. But when behind by a lot, you HAVE to take some chances, it's like he never does. The wideouts must be sick of running all day for nothing. And what happened to his beautiful deep throws? I was fully on the TT bandwagon, as too many people disregard his lack of turnovers and elusiveness while they are amazing sides of him, but his lacks are not getting better at all, and way too big. His lack of accuracy of late is baaaaad. Throwing few passes, he never had the chance to get in a groove, but in the past he still made some killer throws. Now he's become Captain Checkdown.

Tyrod 9/17 for 53 yards through 3 quarters. FRANCHISE QB!
Jerome007 replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was a TT supporter but yet another display of checkdowns and not throwing to WRs had gotten me off the bandwagon. People forget how bad interceptions can be and I love how he "protects the ball". But when behind on the score, throw some damn long passes! WTH! Throw to covered guys and let them fight for it. Is he scared of getting INTs on his record more than he wants to win?
