How Did Manziel Suddenly Become Relevant?
Jerome007 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless the Bills don't draft a QB in the 1st round, I fail to see how Manziel fits with the Bills! They have McCarron and Peterson. Of course if they still only have 2 QBs after the draft, or if Manziel somehow agreed to no guarantees and he can be cut before game 1, then it can make sense. -
Michael Bennett - warrant out for arrest
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha you're something else. By my first post, yeah my initial reaction because it's him is that he was a damn POS. But indeed, it could be a money grab frivolous lawsuit. Point is, WE don't know. Yet YOU are 100% sure it's a money grab. -
Michael Bennett - warrant out for arrest

"for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic working at NRG Stadium to control access to field" Stay classy. I suppose he'll use the race card defense. -
I was a "TT supporter" until last year. I still believe he COULD be good. Remember those beautiful long passes in his year one? Combine that with a great year by Shady that year, a better defense, and boom, he looks like a star, and, gulp, Rex Ryan is still here! But he's way too gun shy and can't throw over the middle on quick drops. He'll likely never change that. But on a team with a speedster WR and an awesome defense, his ability to avoid turnovers become golden.
-
I'm no pot head. And think it's way less benign than "supporters" keep saying. Yet I fully 100% agree with you. Such a dumbass rule. With some states legalizing it, it gives an easy way out of this testing by the NFL for PR reasons. The real reasons are what you mentioned.
-
Well, the Bills have to know why it went down. If drugs or anything that could make him suspended, they need to know. If he's mentally unstable, they need to know to. As for the trash talk, I'm sure he's ready for it, come on. "So you ready to fight for Jesus today?" "Don't bleed on me like when you go through windows" and other such creative (an probably much better) insults. He'll hear it all right. But he already was hearing stuff that probably isn't THAT different
-
While I'm kind of stunned that he is to be the Bills highest paid player (what???), it's all based on his performances. He better be damn good at that price. And yes I get it doesn't mean in his personal stats but in the overall mayhem he creates. But he better produce!
-
AJ is most likely, as presented, a "bridge" QB and not the "long time answer" but if he has any pride, he'll prove all these media parrots wrong! I would be sick of reading and hearing this. It's on him to prove all them wrong. Teammates and coaches matter of course, but it's mainly on him. There has been so many stories of #2 shining when they finally had the chance. Probabilities are not on the side of that happening, but the media don't know! They just parrot the same things.

What ya'll are getting with AJ
Jerome007 replied to RollBillsRoll's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with Mr WEO. I mean, if Jonhy Football had actually delivered on the field, who cares. Well alcoholism and drug addiction sure are no joke and can kill a career so he might be a bad example, but bottomline, being cocky ain't a deal killer for playing in the NFL! Do I personally like cocky self-centered player? Nope but what matters are results. -
This board is nuts with the Kelsay and Shoebel comparisons. You've never seen a white OLB/DL before? I suppose we hope he's another Paup? All the "roid cheater" chant... you think roid use isn't super widespread in the NFL? Really? What's bad is that his next suspension is 10 games so it is quite risk in that sense.
-
Sound sound plan! Sure he had Aaron Rodgers to throw to him, the best QB with Brady, but he has produced and produced and produced. Are you guys nuts berating Nelson? Is that some kind of "reverse racism"? It all depends on the price, as usual, but the dude is a star. Though an aging one.

Browns offered a 2nd and 3rd round pick for McCarron
Jerome007 replied to 0017's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. He could be very good or awful or average or... How can anyone know for sure? When you're #2 for years behind a solidly entrenched starter that doesn't get injured... good luck showing what you got. There has been some great stories of these QB shining when they finally had the chance. And many journeymen and failures too. TT was a special one... average overall but great in some aspects and bad in others. Hopefully the Bills brass know what they got here as let's face it, few really know. One thing is for sure, they HAD to get him with TT gone and so many other free agents QBs already taken. -
Like I posted, the move is good because his huuuuuuge salary made him expandable since his replacement played well - and who knows if he'll play like before given his injuries. Just trading a proven starter for a pick would be bad. But salary caps, years left on contract, injuries, etc. so many factors to consider. I voted yes because of that.
-
What do you mean? It's the 12th pick of the 1st round BTW I think picks are overrated! Many rookie players don't pan out. While proven starters are... proven. This makes sense because it was a case of his huge salary becoming expandable since his replacement played well. And now the Bills have ammo to trade for the top picks. Yet sooooo many busts in the first picks I can't believe people still worship draft picks to that extent! You can find the precious gems, but many duds in there too.

Josh McDaniels Withdraws from Colts' HC Job
Jerome007 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha. Brutal! As for this mess... was the contract signed or not? I mean, you just "can't change your mind" if you signed it! Probably not I suppose as the Cheats were still playing? -
How much leverage did Belichick lose tonight?
Jerome007 replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha. You guys are pathetic at times. Maybe those media **** rumors are true, but most likely, just over emphasized. I hope I'm not alone to wish the Bills beat the Hoodie-Brady combo while they are still strong, and not because Father Time or another outside reason takes them down. THAT will happen for sure. The best revenge is still to best them. I was one that was thrilled when Clown Rex wanted Brady for that 2nd game a few years back... So OK, he got his wish and it turned out real bad ha ha, but I prefer that attitude to just waiting that the beatings stop because of XYZ! -
I think the point the coach is making is that being aggressive AND innovative, putting new wrinkles in the mix, keeps the players focused in practices and over the season, which adds over time. The difference between 8-8 and 10-6 is a few plays here and there. So everything to get your players to be more driven, more accountable, by themselves, out of their own will, sure makes a difference over the season. Not to mention it often makes strategic sense to go for it at times!

Superbowl Takeaways: How to win in today's NFL
Jerome007 replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh come on. You play to your strengths, period. The saying for years has been "defense wins championships". Now because of yesterday it's all about offense? OF COURSE HAVING A SUPERSTAR QB HELPS WIN SUPERBOWLS!!!! It was the same in the most run first/strong defense oriented years. But teams have proven there are different ways to win in the NFL. Credit an overall well designed rule book, even if it has become a more pass happy league. If you happen to not have that elusive superstar QB, you have to find other ways. Jaguars almost beat the Pats, and the Bills almost beat the Jags... both with no pass offense to mention! A team doesn't get an elite QB just because it makes sense! All teams are looking for one. They are a rare breed. -
Can someone fill me in on why Foles was benched/traded after his amazing season in Phily as the starter? His stats, espcially the TD/int ratios were among the top QBs yet he is seen as a mere backup.

Hate to say it...Tyrod will be back
Jerome007 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keeping TT is not exactly a dream come true ha ha. But I've said all along you don't can the guy unless you have someone to replace him! And many QBs have been benched and kept on playing and made money... Alex Smith being the most recent and probably best example. As if Tyrod would spit on a 18M payday to play for the Bills in 2018! With so limited a choice on the market, let's hope the draft picks solve this! Recall Brady was the 199th pick that year... -
Have you ever been less excited for a SB?
Jerome007 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same here. I'll be watching, but I don't care at all. First year I can recall feeling that way. Why, it's hard to say. I mean, the Patriots have been a staple at the SB! But come on at this being a predetermined scripted game! Sure I too feel the Cheatriots buy off some refs and have benefited from weird calls and overall favoritism, but the Eagles winning, just like when the Giants spoiled the perfect season, is much better for the NFL. I'm sensing a lot of people at large are uninterested because the Patriots have gone "from great to greedy" by going for a 6th one. Weird but most likely accurate. And the allure of the commercials has lost a lot of its glitter with the web and all. -
Eric Wood “retirement” press conference
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get why so many people argue. Most likely, both Wood and the Bills brass reacted emotionally to the news, understandably so, and all called up and organised the press conference, with many ex-teammates showing up. Then the business side came into play and it all became awkward, and it was too ate to cancel, that' s all. It's not classless or petty by Woods to make sure he makes all his money, nor by the Bills to save cap space and money! It's just business. As if the remaining players would resent it and all that crap. That depends on HOW it is handled, not that it is handled, which is totally normal. -
Congrats officials on another Super Bowl berth.....

Yep except for the hit on Gronk. Come on now LOL -

Let's face it: we are super biased ha ha. Still, I feel the refs are paid or something, to call OR NOT CALL penalties, mostly during the first quarters, and not at critically important times. It most certainly affects the game score in the end but never too obvious. The Pats* really seem favored.
