Josh Allen - week TEN report card
Jerome007 replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haters should take a look! Do I think he plays well enough? Nope. But damn some of his critics on here are delusional. Not every 2nd year QB is like Mahomes nor plays like a veteran Brees/Rodgers. -
Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem

I didn't get this one. It's really like they went for a tie instead of a win. But besides that, I actually think clock management has been decent this year. -
Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem
Jerome007 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year we saw constant progress this year is more puzzling. But while he didn't play great, Josh has only thrown ONE interception in the last 5 games! ONE. So for such an inaccurate, horrible decision QB, he is doing quite fine! All without the support of a running game... O just wish he'd hit the deep balls since with his cannon arm it would be amazing. This year he's missed them all! Crazy. Even his worse critics didn't expect that! But chill out with him being so horrible! -

LIke the majority I suppose, I at the same time wish him success but think he'll relapse. That I like the dude while knowing he also has been an A-hole to many people. But one thing is sure: dude could play! He was the best offensive lineman since Ruben Brown -
Josh Allen: Beyond the field (story)
Jerome007 replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've rooted for him from day 1. Only this year do I have some doubts to his playing ability. Not that he' a bust by any stretch! But maybe he won't be elite. Still, I love the dude, would also walk to a brick wall for him, he brings it, the right kind of humbleness & likability combined with confidence & competitiveness. I sure hope he does become the #1 QB for the Bills - and the league ha ha - for the next 15 years! So fun to watch, a leader AND a great guy. I just don't get Bills fans taking glee in putting him down! -
You don't watch enough of the rest of the NFL thread
Jerome007 replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well some of the concerns are real. But where I agree with you is for the negative ones that allow criticize every coaching or Allen mistake, that seem to expect perfection. Stop just watching highlights! Other teams and players make all sorts of mistakes too! -

I Think Milano is the Problem with our Run D
Jerome007 replied to JoshAllenHasBigHands's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? Well it's pretty much certain that a lot of players have to miss something to allow runners to be free like that! But Milano seems a stud to me, while Edmunds gets stone walled or doesn't hit the gap. At least Edmunds is good in coverage. This first half was so disappointing for the run D, as with a bad rookie QB you'd expect the Bills to force him to pass by stacking the box to prevent runs... yet the Redskins trampled all over them straight down the middle... -
Nepotism rarely works, but this year their D has been spectacular, with no stars really to speak of. Gilmore is a top CB for sure, as much as I disliked his attitude here, but besides that it seems the coaching since last year's playoffs has been the best ever. I used to think Bellichick, while damn good, got lucky with Brady, but last year and so far in 2019, he is on another level. Yet yes, I do believe he also cheats LOL I wouldn't be surprised they somehow can know what the opposing offences will do by some cheating means.

Philly fans really are the worst
Jerome007 replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to pay devil's advocate... but at a Bills-Dolphins game in Buffalo, I recall dudes rudely heckling and throwing bear cans at a man walking along in his Phins shirt... and his 8-10 yo son. Kind of nasty. And it was after the game, and the Bills had squished the fish. Of course I saw Bills & Patriot fans (pre-Brady era though) having fun together and sliding in the mud ha ha. Point is there are idiots everywhere, but yeah, not hard to believe some places are worst and Philly tops the list. -
Those sort of questions bring more Bellichick conference presses ha ha Thing is, with the media leeches, the Hoodie seem to have a much better strategy than honesty and emotions like Baker...

"Bridge QB" or "good game manager" fits him well. So many "haters" have called Allen a bust from day one. My own concern, is that he becomes a guy on Dalton's level, or Stafford's, Flacco's. etc.: quite good but not great. Good enough you don't want to get rid of him, but not great enough for the higher level games. I'm not saying that's what will happen! Just that it's my concern. Josh is already a better QB we've had for years and years. You have to go back to Beldsoe & Flutie. And he's still learning! Bengals are dumb IF they don't have another option already though. KC could change from Alex Smith as they had Mahomes. The Panthers and Jaguars now see they have another option at QB. Do the Bengals have one?
-
Nope. The offense needs more runs... from the RBs. And WR reverses. But Josh needs to be taken off his leash.
-
Throwing the ball away like he is doing is GOOD, but seems so unnatural to him. But he has to keep doing it. Scrambles? Hell yes. Designed runs up the middle? Please no. For the rest, I concur that he needs to be let loose. He'll make many dumb mistakes but many great plays. He needs swagger to have fun and play better, that's his style.

Rational Thoughts Day After Eagles
Jerome007 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading this board since last evening I would think the Bills are 2-12, not 5-2. Yes, yes, a lot of things are worrisome but still. So many "fire Daboll, fire McD, Allen is a bust, D was never that good" posts. -
The Bills are still not a dominant team. And of course I'm pissed about it. But as much as I want the team to win NOW, next game, this year, I realize the future is bright. Lots of potential stars in our youngsters, and the salary cap situation is really good. Daboll and the coaches have had me clapping in joy in some games and steaming today. But they are still good. Great? Nope. Can they be? Hopefully! But we just don't know. Saints, GB, SF, Cheats, KC, Rams are all another tier up. But put the Bills against the Eagles 10 times and I'm sure they win at least 4 out of 10. It was a very competitive game. The Allen fumble and the 65 yard run ended up being the difference. Bills are already top 12, and thus playoff caliber. But the difference between winning and losing are so slim, and so far the luck has been on the Bills' side. And as the team has done very well overall in the 2nd half, I feel they should likely adjust well for the 2nd half of the season too. We'll see.

JJ Watt likely out for the season
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He trains like a maniac but his injuries don't seem to come from overtraining except for a few. BTW was he a force THIS year? He seemed like a good DE this season, but he was THE best before so it was quite a step down. He was so dominant it was crazy. Now he just seemed a good one, nothing more. -
The D isn't built to handle what hit them today
Jerome007 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know this is about the run, but where has Hughes been all year? He used to be a force, now he's invisible. Murphy has been at least good against the run. Edmunds this year is still awesome in cover but seems to me to have regressed against the run. The Bills D has really been gouged at times against the run in the last 3 years but hold on to your worries. I think the Eagles coach is really a wiz at designing plays that confuses the D. It wasn't straight them getting overpowered. -
Frank Gore is a freak and I love him
Jerome007 replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's almost a surprise how good he is this year. Looks as durable as if 26 and not 36. But Singletary needs to produce for this to last the year. Shady was special IMO. I admit I'm not sure why the Bills had to cut him this year but what's done is done. OLine is so much better too. -
The lose-lose media narrative vs Eagles
Jerome007 replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed. I really don't care if the media tries to put the Bills in a bad light. If the Bills lose a lot, they'll deserve the bad angles. If they keep winning, they'll shut them up and most of the media will jump on the bandwagon. Players and coaches control the storyline in the end. -
Josh Allen - week SEVEN report card
Jerome007 replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This roster is on the rise and I get your point. IMO it's great that the planned upgrade for the OL and WR corps has panned out, and that to me the TE group, while no superstars, are way better than what the Bills have had for years. Beane has done a great job and still has tons of salary cap room for next year, so we can be optimistic. But my point remains that they are at least average now on offense. Not great, no superstar players, but a good talent spread all around the WRs and OLine that provides very good versatility. Not Top 10 by any stretch, maybe only closing in on Top 15, but not mediocre and far better than last year, that's for sure! -
Does Beasley’s TD tamp down his growing frustration?
Jerome007 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like a news article... when the subject and title affect the perception. He could be simply frustrated at the game he was having and not at Allen & Daboll and company. Or only frustrated at times and happy at others ha ha. He has dropped some balls, but to his defense caught some very hard throws from Josh. Like Allen is trying to put an hole though him. I loooooove Josh but some of his short passes have been thrown too hard! -
Josh Allen - week SEVEN report card
Jerome007 replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully agree with the Josh analysis here... but no need to insult the other players. This year he is NOT "surrounded by largely mediocre talent in the passing game". At least average talent. But yes, patience my fellow Bills fans! -
Josh Allen - week SEVEN report card
Jerome007 replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In general, the mainstream football media have a hard on for Black QBs... which is weird as if you want to bring races into the game (like ESPN and others keep doing), Blacks are the clear majority when it comes to NFL players! Ravens with Jackson keep doing like the Bills with Allen: they win. But as you point out, besides the runs, very lowly stats! And their defense scored two TDs yet all they talk is Lamar Lamar Lamar. He is very exciting though, and at the end we want to be entertained. It's just that when I look at the highlight passes he threw and the stats... it says besides the highlight reels he threw a couple of short passes and that's it, all game Well that plus gaining over 100 yards running! Josh WILL have a game with 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing at one point. He just will. It might be 3 years from now but it will happen
