  1. I admit I cringed at the idea of 14 teams instead of 12... but it would make sense. Exactly this way. We all hate change, and there's something great in the NFL about so few teams making the playoffs, 20 out of 32 are out! Yet 18 out of 32 out ain't so bad. It's still not an open house. Who remembers when the NHL had 21 teams yet 16 made the playoffs? The regular season meant nothing. IDK about you guys, but I watch the playoffs. Yet, it doesn't matter if it's football, movies, whatever, I don't like sitting on my ass all day long watching TV! Especially since I watch intently, not passively half asleep. So 3 games per day that first playoff weekend is kind of excessive to me! I won't watch them all, but of course overall the total viewership will increase so more $$$. That wouldn't change. Only division winners with poor record get in. That there is 2 or 3 wildcard teams, they'll have a good record unless the whole conference stunk!
  2. I root big time for Allen, and certainly wish him to become THE Bills QB for the next 15-20 years as he becomes a great one. For me as well, my fear is NOT that he's a bust. He's not already! Some of his haters are ridiculous. But it is that he becomes a Tannehill, Flacco, Strafford, etc. level. Pretty good but not that next level you need. Only time will tell but damn people are impatient! His deep ball is concerning but he cannot be THAT inaccurate. There's some mental issues here. A couple of drops, don't forget, and some simple chemistry/timing issues, but besides he has overthrown everybody. Part of it must be the coaches preferring that to an INT... and they are right. Part of it is that he's loss confidence. Again, even if he is inaccurate, he can NOT be that bad, come on. It's likely a weird temporary glitch he has so far this year. Add a few completed long passes and his stats would look awesome, a few extra TDs and yes, the infamous 300 yard game would be his already. So chill out everybody ha ha. If you are so set on it, root against him this offseason if he stinks the rest of the year, but meanwhile, he IS the Bills QB. Support the man. WTH kind of fans like to pile on their own team like that!!!
  3. The NFL should have a lottery system like in the NHL. It's crazy that losing is actually a good thing if you don't make the playoffs! How come the competition committee has never addressed this?
  4. A great offensive line makes both suddenly look way better. A lot of pieces matter in the puzzle. Yet all teams have string and weak points. Good coaches adjust to their own and their opponents'. Once in a while, a team is stacked at some positions, but even then, it's most often close fights, and Any Given Sunday applies.
  5. I actually would not care if the Bills won and won big. Then guys like Josh and one or two others would shine in the media. Very few true stars in the league, or not that many per team. You think Edelman would be a star without all those playoff and SB appearances? Maybe only Gronk was one besides Brady. It's winning that counts, especially in the playoffs as all eyes are on you. You hear about anyone but Lamar in Baltimore? Texans were all about JJ Watt until their QB started to shine. Nah, winning is more important to me. Panthers have Kueshly, Cam and McCaffrey, KC & the Browns are loaded with stars, Steelers had AB-Bell-Burger, yet who cares if they don't win?
  6. Is there more than 7-8 teams in the whole NFL, if that, with "well established, experienced HC and OC"? Of course every team wants that. An en elite QB. Top offensive line. #1 WRs. Terrifying defenses. And on and on. Some fans think their desires can simply put into reality in a snap.
  7. A tad ridiculous how he's seen as a bust. I sure hope he finally connects on some deep balls, that has to be the weirdest and worst element of his play this year. He would have been over that soooooo important (to some of you) 300 passing yards mark in at least 2 games if not 3, had he hit some of those deep throws. Of course he did NOT, but the point is, that it is for Daboll or Josh, they are not as bad as some of you make them out to be. Frustrating? Underachieving? Mind scratching? Below expectations? For sure! But a bust? Are you nuts? The Bills are 6-3 and have not been blown up except the Redskins game. Josh has thrown only one pick in the last 5 games! There are lots of legit points of concern as far as becoming an elite QB, but he's no bust!
  8. Haters should take a look! Do I think he plays well enough? Nope. But damn some of his critics on here are delusional. Not every 2nd year QB is like Mahomes nor plays like a veteran Brees/Rodgers.
  9. I didn't get this one. It's really like they went for a tie instead of a win. But besides that, I actually think clock management has been decent this year.
  10. Last year we saw constant progress this year is more puzzling. But while he didn't play great, Josh has only thrown ONE interception in the last 5 games! ONE. So for such an inaccurate, horrible decision QB, he is doing quite fine! All without the support of a running game... O just wish he'd hit the deep balls since with his cannon arm it would be amazing. This year he's missed them all! Crazy. Even his worse critics didn't expect that! But chill out with him being so horrible!
  11. LIke the majority I suppose, I at the same time wish him success but think he'll relapse. That I like the dude while knowing he also has been an A-hole to many people. But one thing is sure: dude could play! He was the best offensive lineman since Ruben Brown
  12. I've rooted for him from day 1. Only this year do I have some doubts to his playing ability. Not that he' a bust by any stretch! But maybe he won't be elite. Still, I love the dude, would also walk to a brick wall for him, he brings it, the right kind of humbleness & likability combined with confidence & competitiveness. I sure hope he does become the #1 QB for the Bills - and the league ha ha - for the next 15 years! So fun to watch, a leader AND a great guy. I just don't get Bills fans taking glee in putting him down!
  13. Well some of the concerns are real. But where I agree with you is for the negative ones that allow criticize every coaching or Allen mistake, that seem to expect perfection. Stop just watching highlights! Other teams and players make all sorts of mistakes too!
  14. So he can tweet 'cracker' but the N-word would get any player suspended?
  15. Really? Well it's pretty much certain that a lot of players have to miss something to allow runners to be free like that! But Milano seems a stud to me, while Edmunds gets stone walled or doesn't hit the gap. At least Edmunds is good in coverage. This first half was so disappointing for the run D, as with a bad rookie QB you'd expect the Bills to force him to pass by stacking the box to prevent runs... yet the Redskins trampled all over them straight down the middle...
  16. Nepotism rarely works, but this year their D has been spectacular, with no stars really to speak of. Gilmore is a top CB for sure, as much as I disliked his attitude here, but besides that it seems the coaching since last year's playoffs has been the best ever. I used to think Bellichick, while damn good, got lucky with Brady, but last year and so far in 2019, he is on another level. Yet yes, I do believe he also cheats LOL I wouldn't be surprised they somehow can know what the opposing offences will do by some cheating means.
  17. Not to pay devil's advocate... but at a Bills-Dolphins game in Buffalo, I recall dudes rudely heckling and throwing bear cans at a man walking along in his Phins shirt... and his 8-10 yo son. Kind of nasty. And it was after the game, and the Bills had squished the fish. Of course I saw Bills & Patriot fans (pre-Brady era though) having fun together and sliding in the mud ha ha. Point is there are idiots everywhere, but yeah, not hard to believe some places are worst and Philly tops the list.
  18. Those sort of questions bring more Bellichick conference presses ha ha Thing is, with the media leeches, the Hoodie seem to have a much better strategy than honesty and emotions like Baker...
  19. "Bridge QB" or "good game manager" fits him well. So many "haters" have called Allen a bust from day one. My own concern, is that he becomes a guy on Dalton's level, or Stafford's, Flacco's. etc.: quite good but not great. Good enough you don't want to get rid of him, but not great enough for the higher level games. I'm not saying that's what will happen! Just that it's my concern. Josh is already a better QB we've had for years and years. You have to go back to Beldsoe & Flutie. And he's still learning! Bengals are dumb IF they don't have another option already though. KC could change from Alex Smith as they had Mahomes. The Panthers and Jaguars now see they have another option at QB. Do the Bengals have one?
  20. Nope. The offense needs more runs... from the RBs. And WR reverses. But Josh needs to be taken off his leash.
  21. Throwing the ball away like he is doing is GOOD, but seems so unnatural to him. But he has to keep doing it. Scrambles? Hell yes. Designed runs up the middle? Please no. For the rest, I concur that he needs to be let loose. He'll make many dumb mistakes but many great plays. He needs swagger to have fun and play better, that's his style.
  22. Reading this board since last evening I would think the Bills are 2-12, not 5-2. Yes, yes, a lot of things are worrisome but still. So many "fire Daboll, fire McD, Allen is a bust, D was never that good" posts.
  23. The Bills are still not a dominant team. And of course I'm pissed about it. But as much as I want the team to win NOW, next game, this year, I realize the future is bright. Lots of potential stars in our youngsters, and the salary cap situation is really good. Daboll and the coaches have had me clapping in joy in some games and steaming today. But they are still good. Great? Nope. Can they be? Hopefully! But we just don't know. Saints, GB, SF, Cheats, KC, Rams are all another tier up. But put the Bills against the Eagles 10 times and I'm sure they win at least 4 out of 10. It was a very competitive game. The Allen fumble and the 65 yard run ended up being the difference. Bills are already top 12, and thus playoff caliber. But the difference between winning and losing are so slim, and so far the luck has been on the Bills' side. And as the team has done very well overall in the 2nd half, I feel they should likely adjust well for the 2nd half of the season too. We'll see.
  24. He trains like a maniac but his injuries don't seem to come from overtraining except for a few. BTW was he a force THIS year? He seemed like a good DE this season, but he was THE best before so it was quite a step down. He was so dominant it was crazy. Now he just seemed a good one, nothing more.
  25. I know this is about the run, but where has Hughes been all year? He used to be a force, now he's invisible. Murphy has been at least good against the run. Edmunds this year is still awesome in cover but seems to me to have regressed against the run. The Bills D has really been gouged at times against the run in the last 3 years but hold on to your worries. I think the Eagles coach is really a wiz at designing plays that confuses the D. It wasn't straight them getting overpowered.
