What AJ Espensa peers say about facing him...
Jerome007 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well he is a Bills now. I thus hope he is a superstar. But yeah, spring brings hope eternal -
Exactly. Dumb pick. But hey, not my team ha ha It seems Rodgers is a diva and all that, but dude is still among the very best QBs. Give him weapons instead.

Taysom Hill extends - 2 years, $21 Million
Jerome007 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And he is ENTERTAINING. Fun to watch, for sure. I do wonder about taking snaps away from a total stud QB like Brees though. But dude is a pleasure to watch. He does it all. -
The Bills 2020 Draft in Perspective
Jerome007 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team has got so much better the last two years, AND before the draft (Diggs was totally worth the draft picks!), that I wasn't expecting much from this draft. And in a way, it over delivered with rounds 2 & 3 (probably 2 legit starters we needed), and with the WR in Rd 4 going out to run routes right away. Beane is the man, for sure. I too can't wait for the season. First as it means life is back to a somewhat normal! And have the Bills kick butts. -
Knox has made crazy good catches. Has competitive spirit galore. And yes... lots of drops. But he is inexperienced, and most drops were too quick to go for yards and not looking the football in. I find that more correctable, and he has FIRE How is he as a blocker? TE group might not be game breakers but still, at least average with very good depth.

Lamar Jackson on Madden 21 cover
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It'll be interesting to see if he lasts or "was a fad". With the super heavy running approach and the 3 great TE sets they use, I still see the Ravens as having huge success. You guys seem to forget Greg Roman. He's great at designing run plays and maxing a running QB. I'd hate to be a WR there though ha ha. -
Beane has traded up 5 times in 2 drafts.
Jerome007 replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This year, with the pieces they have and starting so far down, I expect no trade ups nor big deals. And that's not a knock on him, I LOOOOOVE that he goes for PROVEN players. Those beat draft picks except in salary cap considerations. -
Von Miller tests positive for Covid 19
Jerome007 replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well it sucks for him, really. But some of you thinks it affects the coming NFL season? Talk about overreaction. It might not happen, but it has to do with what will happen overall till then, not to one player having it in April! -
To me, Josh IS indeed the Bills franchise QB we've been waiting for. Sure, he needs to improve, and he could NOT be. I guess my default mode is that he is that future elite QB and growing in that role before our eyes, while for many the default mode is PROVE IT JOSH and till then he is not. We'll see. Nobody knows. Can we at least agree we should ALL root for him to be?

Rosenthal: True QB value rankings from 1-35
Jerome007 replied to chris heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I take Josh... because I deal in reality and not what-ifs ha ha. He is our QB and here to stay. I support him 100%. -
Why can't the Bills keep both? A good LT is obviously more important and harder to come by, so in an absolute have-to-choose scenario, yeah you keep Dion, but I'm shocked at the diss at Milano. Dude has been a ball hawk and can play!
-
While I agree that most 'national' writers are a tad clueless, focus mainly on big trades, and most simply parrot what they've heard, I see this Diggs acquisition the same way. Mega positive. In the OP you point out lots of real Bills team flaws... but guess what? No team is without them! The difference between a W and a L in at least half the games is just a couple of plays in a game. Having Diggs help a LOT to open up all the offense, and make Josh (and Dabbol) better overall. Injuries can still derail the train, bad decisions, bad games, etc. But overall, hell yeah the odds are a lot better!
-
Yes, I know he has a REALLY high % of drops. But damn, I just looked at this highlight clip. Some of the catches he did make are awesome. Like Josh, he came out of college a lot more raw than most other draftees. Anyway, he is on the roster, a Bills, will play for the team next year, so... GO KNOX
-
He should get lots of opportunities. With the WR core, him, Singletarry, and Josh's ability to run... this team can be a nightmare for opposing Ds

Radical change! What a makeover, wow!

Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3
Jerome007 replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen HAS kept improving, had very little mental collapses. He has shown to be a leader, coachable, etc. He has thrown very little INTs. He does not need to improve that much to be a top tier QB. While a few parts of the D could have gotten older in a bad way, 2nd year of most of the OL together, better experience for Knox, Singletarry and Josh himself, and of course Diggs, wow, the potential is there. Add a couple of 1st downs per game and one deep ball every other game, and your mythical 300 ypg will happen. Barring injuries, always the potential monkey wrench, this offense could be a powerhouse IMO. -
What we can all agree, is that IF Josh becomes even remotely good at deep balls, not even great, he has the arm strength to do so as few ever had. With Diggs and Brown, and the occasional TE deep, wow can could the Bills O stretch the field! With Beasly on shorter routes and Josh's run ability, this offense could be AMAZING just by improving this aspect. And I'm sure he can. BTW, I'm awed at how 3rd & 17 with Allen is like 3rd & 8 for most QBs. And that has been the case already. I wish the damn haters would focus on the good stuff too.

I'm actually pissed Brady is gone when the Bills are obviously getting much stronger. No payback on the horizon, sadly. He left the division having beat up the Bills at will. As for attracting FA, no doubt, Beane, McD... and JOSH ALLEN are big reasons why. This team looks one of THE emerging teams that could dominate for some years to come. That attracts good players.

Clay Matthews released...interested?
Jerome007 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I though he was done because of wear & tear, but if he had 8 sacks and 9 TFL in 13 games last year, of course the Bills should consider him. For the RIGHT PRICE, he is a proven player that can play half the reps, and the Bills are obviously going for a heavy rotation style defense, which is good news for aging players while allowing young talent to shine as well. -
I still don't understand how so many people place such high value on draft picks. Even the Top 5 picks can be disappointments. After that, most players drafted don't succeed or under deliver compared to expectations. PROVEN players are worth way more than draft picks! I sure remember the day Paup and Spielman were there. I had a poster with them and Bruce.

Sean Payton has contracted COVID19
Jerome007 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I predict most training min-camps will be cancelled, but by July, we should get back to normal. I expect those 4 meaningless pre-season games -
Incredible when people have their minds made up, isn't it? Dude won a SB, and last year they were one of the top teams, Brady having 4075 yards, 24 TD and 8 Int. Hate the guy all you want, and age WILL become a factor, and yes I believe he has slowed down for sure, but he's still clutch with Top 10 numbers!

How fast is Josh Allen and can he get faster?
Jerome007 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He really runs fast, no doubt about that. I hope he keeps doing it. Of course he has mostly to improve as a passing QB but he is the most dangerous runner after Lamar and maybe Russell Wilson. Why put a lid on that? That Cheatriots hit that knocked him out of the game is an exception, and he really put it on a line to get a 1st down, which he'll rarely have to do. Like many running QBs, he was hit harder (besides that one hit) as a pocket passer than as a runner.
