  1. It’s that damn Khalil Shakers fault.
  2. I think it might be time to change your username.
  3. I appreciate you explaining this to ME like I’m five. I don’t disagree with you. That is the way it seems. However, isn’t the point of a message board to discuss what WE think as fans, including roster management/depth? It is MY opinion THEY are taking a serious risk by relying on a rookie tight end to come in and give THEM the immediate and consistent production THEY need week over week. Especially, with a bankable and proven player out there looking for a team that would more likely than not make this offense incredibly dangerous by putting him out there with Diggs. Get creative and get it done. Or will this be another scenario where Beane’s reluctance to pull the trigger bites him in the ass like the possible Von Miller trade a couple years ago that he balked at? Sometimes this regime is too risk averse. I’m not a fan who would blame them if I saw they were trying everything by taking a big swing on Hopkins and it didn’t pan out. Plus, if it does work out and, WE (yes, WE because we would all share in that elation) get a ring, how much would we really care what it took from future seasons to get it? FCOL, just get one in my lifetime.
  4. I get that’s their plan, but are we really comfortable risking another season of Allen’s prime years on a lotto ticket? None of us know what Kincaid will or won’t be (including Beane) at this point. You hope, but you just can’t bank on it. Particularly, with a notoriously slow to develop position like TE. Whether he’s inline or big slot. If I’m Beane, I’m going with the sure thing. If Kincaid produces year 1, then that’s icing on the cake.
  5. Beane can and should figure this out. Would be an amazing WR group for at least this year. Teams will eventually and inevitably take Diggs away come playoffs and this would give us another legit established threat when that happens. Get Josh every weapon you can leaving no stone unturned. He wants to play here, and there’s no trade compensation or previous deal holding this up. Yes, I get he has to agree to any deal, but get creative. Tired of being one season away.
  6. They do this better than anyone in the league. Guys constantly running wide open. It’s incredible.
  7. Awww. That’s so cute. Only way he’s going there is if all he cares about is money. Bill O’Brien is there as OC and they aren’t on the best of terms from the Texans trade. Unless they’ve patched it up. Even then it would only be about the money.
  8. This is where it’s going to pay off having a guy like Josh as our QB. That and Von and the rest of the roster. Better get this done. Edit: beyond Josh’s obvious on field contributions.
  9. His criticisms are fair, and I also have my reservations about McD when the stage is biggest, but there’s no way in hell McD should be listed at 22.
  10. Seemed pretty unlikely, but was hoping the Bills would kick the tires on one of their draft picks to compete for a spot like last year. Don’t get me wrong - I like what Sam Martin did last year and he’s probably the better punter to have right now based on the part of the field they’ll most likely be punting from, but he’s no spring chicken.
  11. Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap.
  12. Boy you really read between the lines on my post and came up with a completely different interpretation than intended. Where did I say I’ve made any sort of final determination on Bernard? I haven’t, and I won’t judge him off one game where he looked a little lost. Of course players can improve. I’m saying in general that you can’t make a decision on one player based on another player drafted in the same round and at the same position. They are two different people. A lot of people have already tossed Bernard on the trash heap. He may be great, he may be terrible, (or somewhere in between) but that has nothing to do with DW.
  13. Probably been said a million times in this thread, but Nick Bolton with the Chiefs is another good size comp. 6’0 237 and he does just fine. Also, he’s slower at 4.6 forty and shorter arms at 31 7/8 (and wingspan of 76 1/4) than DW. Admittedly, I knee-jerk hated this pick initially with the Bernard pick last year and the backup to Milano and special teams comments. But I’ve since calmed down and really like his potential with further context. Can’t dislike him just because of the Bernard pick last year. Have to evaluate him individually. I think he’ll get an opportunity to start at the Mike at some point if he can pick up the playbook.
  14. Other than brief return duties, was he ever really given a chance? His main problem was that he couldn’t stay healthy.
  15. I hate this for the young man and the Bills. They invested in what may have been a generational punter (I know, I know. He’s a punter) and his whole life was turned upside down. I was in the “wait and see” camp, but I understood there was really nothing the Bills could do that close to the season. Too much of a distraction for a title hopeful team. Little did we know that was only the beginning of last year’s unfortunate distractions. Hopefully, he gets another shot. I’d be up for bringing him back on to battle Sam Martin in training camp.
  16. I’m willing to admit I may have overreacted with my initial reaction to Williams. The more I learn about this guy, the more I like him. Taken out of context, that special teams comment from the reporters on Twitter sounded worse than it was. Sounds like if this guy can come pick things up quickly, he may be given a shot at the Mike. But he’s going to have to earn it. Which I can appreciate. Yeah, he’s small weight wise, but love his timed and game speed as well as his tackling.
  17. They traded up right in front of us. Then we take another guard. Plus it’s the 7th round. Guys are already working the phones on UDFAs. Word can get around.
  18. Screw you Ravens. They knew we were going to do it.
  19. Why not take a shot on Vorhees? Bonus for next year. It’s 7th round.
  20. I don’t disagree. All we can say on any of these guys is “we’ll see”. Not having the 4th rounder definitely factored into my reaction to this pick. Of course I’ll root for the guy’s success now that he’s on the team.
  21. Oh good. A special teamer with a premium asset third round pick. Why do they waste second and third round picks with these guys? Who cares what Smiley wants? Use rounds 5-7 and UDFAs to get Smiley what he needs. Add him to the pile of mediocre LBs after Milano. We didn’t need another Will. We need a Mike. Back to back head scratching third round picks.
