Blank Stare

The sacks in plus territory to start. Throw the dang ball into the bleachers. A number of times this year he’s knocked us out of FG range with that stuff or made the down and distance impossible (like the 4th down PI on Cole Beasley today that didn’t have to be 4th and a mile). That stuff is inexcusable at any level. Have to get rid of it and live to play another down or it’s points off the board.

I realize that, but this was a pretty steep regression. Vintage rookie year josh. He hasn’t shown that since the Cheats game. But this might be the best defense he’s played since then. He hung in and battled, but still made some inexcusable mistakes. Like I said, I’m still with him. Just disappointing. That first half against the Cheats was worse. Had like 2-3 picks. Did zilch on offense.

I’d really thought/hoped/prayed that Josh had turned a corner after that Dallas game toward becoming the guy. Of course he’s still learning and I’m not ready to write him off or anything. He just regressed pretty badly this week. Here’s hoping he shakes it off. That’s one thing he’s shown capable of doing. Besides, it’s the Bills. When have they ever made anything easy on us.

McD will still dress special teams dynamo sinorice Perry. Guy constantly over does it with special teams at the expense of the offense. One or both of Julian Stanford and Sinorice Perry should be inactive to help the offense with guys like Yeldon, Duke, or Sweeney. You’re telling me Yeldon wouldn’t have helped underneath catching short passes today on those cover 0 blitzes? He did great against NE in that role. Or maybe Duke gets you a physical catch today against a physical defense that bullied our diminutive receivers. Sweeney can’t be worse than Kroft. Guy is invisible.

Anyone else sick of hearing people call this guy Duck Hodges? We’ve got a whole week of that coming up. Ughhh. Awful nickname. Media is so simple.

This will continue next week too I’d bet. Cheats did it to him too. Until he adjusts, the teams with firepower on D will continue to test him.

I’m pretty ticked off at how we played today, but if we can pick up 2 more wins this year that would be incredible. If you told me at the start of the year we’d be 11-5, I’d have “Kool-aid man’d” it right through a brick wall in excitement.

It’s crazy to say, but I like us better on the road. Just have to hope we can pick up one more W and get into the playoffs.
