12/21 Bills @ Pats** PreGame Thread
Blank Stare replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll give you the Yeldon fumbles as a possible concern, but he had a solid game receiving as a safety valve for Josh last time against the cheats. You’ll never convince me these two can’t run down the field and make a tackle on special teams. Been playing football their entire life. Likely, multiple positions. And...even if that’s true, why overemphasize special teams at the expense of the offense? Not like we are a scoring machine or fielding a dominant special teams coverage unit. -

Nope. Not surprised. Hopeful. I’d be fine with it if we had a killer O, but that’s not the case. Why not try something different and make every possible offensive improvement option available in what figures to be a tight game? -

Yeldon and Duke again. ? -
Anyone think we see Yeldon up this week? I’d make Gore still active but as the third back. I’d like to see Gore get some rest these last two games before the playoffs. He was better at the start of the season, or at least he looked it. Some rest might do him good. Plus Yeldon had a solid game receiving against the cheats last time.

Whether you care to admit it or not is irrelevant. I’m the one who posted the comment, so I’m 100% certain I know what I meant by the post, but thank you for explaining what I meant to me. You were quoting sarcasm. I’m sorry you’re so bothered by this and the point was lost on you. Good luck playing board gestapo. It’s befitting, as I’m sure you’ll want the final word in this “feud” (did I do that right using the italics to indicate sarcasm?).

“Obviously“ exaggeration, sarcasm, and hyperbole are lost on you. Do you really think I was inferring people thought they’d be better than Belichick, Harbaugh, Tomlin, etc.? Come on man. The talking heads were quite pleased with this hire after the Gus Bradley loose-ship regime (fans not so much). Thought Marrone and Coughlin were just what they needed by bringing in a disciplined style. Only furthered by a fluke run to an AFC Championship. This is not news. Agreed. I’ll give them credit for that for sure. Still have no idea how they pulled that off. Yeah, they had a great D, but Bortles stepped up against big time opponents that year. He was awful in the WC game against us. Foreshadowing with respect to how good the Bills D would be come.

JFGI. How’s that for ya?
-
Come on man, really? People were talking about how bringing Coughlin in would be a stabilizing, guiding force, and that promoting Marrone was the right move. Also, see any blow hard in the media during their one successful year. We all knew it was only a matter of time with Dougie leading the team. Plus, Coughlin’s style grew stale in NY. He’s a real hit with millennials.
-
I remember the media gushing over the Tom Coughlin and Marrone hires a few years ago. Said they had it all figured out. Top front office and coaching situation in the league. For a fleeting moment, it looked like they may have something thanks to an ability to buy a defense with a boatload of cap space. Saps.

Adam Schein goes threw a table on CBS for Bills Mafia!

Kudos. He was in early. Side note: Was he calling McD McDermotts? With an “s”? -
It’s important to note the impact of the Steelers win on this game. We’re already in as the 5 seed no matter what. This should be the loosest, most relaxed we’ve ever been playing these guys. Regardless of whether we win the division, a win would be huge for this team’s confidence going into the playoffs. This is the hump we’ve not been able to get over divisionally.

Oh ok. Gotcha. I misunderstood the question. I’m definitely in the “prepare exactly the same as you normally would” crowd. We still have a chance at the division, albeit remote, so you go try to win this thing and extend that for another week. Also, it’s important to note the impact of the Steelers win on this game.
