    He’ll play when he’s ready. Sometimes I think McD just says stuff like this to protect the player by tempering expectations. Especially, for a first round pick. If he comes out looking rough after an injury the pitchforks will be out for him which could hurt his confidence and development.

    I get it’s a short week. Guys just starting to get their legs back from Sunday by the time they kick the ball on Thursday. Going to be some sloppiness you wouldn’t see if given the full week. That said, McD and co. have had someone advance scouting and on this game in advance. I’m willing to excuse SOME of the sloppy play, but you absolutely can’t pair that up with suspect coaching.
