If you would’ve told me before the season started that Smoke (our de facto 2019 #1 receiver) would’ve missed 5 games and been banged up for a few others where he clearly wasn’t himself, and we still win 12 (possibly 13) games, I wouldn’t have believed it likely. Josh loves Smoke and has a great bond/relationship/chemistry with him. Yes, I know Diggs has been a huge part of filling that void, but in a shortened off season with limited reps, it really goes to show you how incredible Josh Allen has been this year. Also a testament to the other receivers like Beasley and Davis stepping up.

Oh, I 100% agree that his blocking has been a pleasant surprise. None more evident than plays like that. But, for the playoffs, where every possession matters, I’m taking the 4.2/4.3 guy to stretch the defense and be a threat to score on a flick of Josh Allen’s wrist. Gilliam is definitely a nice piece moving forward though. Reminds me a little of a young Charles Clay. A “do everything” sort of guy.

I don’t know the IR rules for the playoffs, but I was more referring to the season ending variety. I don’t see Gilliam as a huge loss for the rest of the year in comparison to the stress Stills would put on the defense in the passing game.

Wonder if Gilliam ends up on IR if they bring in Stills. Knee and hamstring + his inexperience seem to make him a prime candidate for freeing up a spot on the 53.

Man. Tough crowd RE: Gabriel Davis. Once upon a time it was commonly accepted/expected that rookie receivers take time to develop. Is he a world beater? Not yet. And he may never be. But his production thus far as a rookie, while he’s learning the pro game, has been welcome. They didn’t even ask him to run the full route tree in college. I expect his route running precision and knowledge of what works best for creating separation from NFL DBs to improve the more he’s hanging around Diggs, Smoke, and Beasley. Let’s give him a little leash before we cast him aside into TJ Graham land.
