Bummer on Milano, but surprised they’d go Bernard over Dodson. I’m good with getting a look at the rook, but didn’t seem like something McD would do.

That’s fair to be frustrated if a higher pick (one who many of us were surprised by during the draft) doesn’t get a lot of run their first year, but that’s not unusual for this team (or other deep teams). Dodson can cover though. In fact he’s also like Milano a bit athletically. Like Milano, ran in the 4.6s and has been in this system a while. Hopefully, Milano plays, but if it is Dodson, I wouldn’t think negatively of Bernard. Just that we are a deep team and guys have to fight their way on the field. It’s a sign of roster strength. Same way I don’t feel bad about James Cook or our young safeties when they added Hines and Marlowe. It’s a deep team, and when there is an injury, they are going to play the guys they trust most and give them the best opportunity to win.

Are we sure it wouldn’t be Dodson? Bernard and Milano seem similar, but I recall him struggling in coverage in preseason. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t have improved, but I might prefer Dodson.

Shocked that he’d even consider this with how defiant he’s been about selling. They’ve been calling for his head for years and he refuses. But with a guy like Irsay like a dog on a bone insisting he sell, clearly this wasn’t going away.

Come on man. Tre, Poyer, and Hyde (combined on the same play) gave up a hail mary to win a game two years ago against the Cards. It’s football. Things happen. At least Marlowe’s team didn’t lose. Personally, I love this move. Shrewd move to shore up depth.

Would love to grab another receiver like a Brandin Cooks. Hoping Poyer isn’t serious, but it would be smart to flip a late pick (or Zach Moss 😂) to grab a Dean Marlowe type to shore up our safety depth that appears to have taken a hit. Finally, I wouldn’t mind a move at RB (someone like Hunt), but Motor and Cook looked good last night so may be less important depending on how they project that production out the remainder of the year. Only other place would be oline, but not sure who teams would be willing to make available on their line at this point in the year (maybe Corbett? But we don’t know if he’s available or much better than what we currently have).

Take that second half game plan and incinerate it.

Should be absolutely annihilating these chumps.
