I don't agree with your hypothesis that Kaepernicks career had stalled ,the 49 ers were going through a leadership change and were in effect getting old. Maybe he wasn't a fit for the niners anymore but a stalled career is because of a further calling and the lack of opportunity by NFL teams. Stay tuned for this because it isn't over. It is ridiculous to think that the protest is a player /owner thing. It is a racial protest or weren't you listening .The proliferation of racism has increased in the last two years as the president with his policies and actions supports it.

I don't agree with you calling Kaepernick a cynic . The things he was protesting against have been in the news for a long time but, with the instant news and the shift in the political scene , the racism has proliferated in the time which you said. He has traded his position as a football player for a clarion of the oppressed. Not a lot of people would have the guts to do what he has done and history will remember him, Favorably .

As I said in an earlier post that, is not the flag or the anthem that our servicemen fought and died for . It was for our RIGHTS. The Supreme Court has over and over again said that a citizen CAN desecrate the flag. It is within our free speech right. I would not do it and the vast majority would not do it , but it is our right. It is our RIGHT To protest . Colin chose to protest in the manner he thought would draw attention to the lack of justice for minorities . Unfortunately , the president decided to politicize his actions .This is what polarized the country. Even the president does not understand the constitution with regard to our rights. The posters who say that everyone must stand for the anthem and flag are only partially right, Active duty service people and some contractual situations must stand . The NFL is between a rock and a hard place because any effort to legislate a dictum to the players , would make their correct null and void.

I am a veteran . The right to protest is inherent in our roots. ( The Boston Tea Party ) in case some of you want to look it up. My service , i would like to think was not to glorify a flag or anthem , it was to defend our freedoms. The freedom to protest is one freedom which every American should defend to his/her death. The intellectual lightweight 4Fer in the White House chose to make the protest political and the NFL bit. MLK and Bobby Kennedy among others paid with their lives for our sacred right to protest. Colin Kaepernick has paid dearly for his just protestations. The NFL has taken the path of ignominy. I am sure that a solution can be worked out if politics can be kept out of the solution. For the rednecks out there , I am a caucasian.

Does your thinking now fly out the window in September?
Wily Dog replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect the Defense to be considerably better with the shore up of the line. The DB's are set . LB is a little bit sketchy but i suspect there is help coming after June 1st. The Offense is going to be better because we will have a QB that throws to Wide Receivers , no matter which one of the three starts. The WR's can't help but be better than last year.. Shady has help this year. We have a new Offensive Coordinator . I will expect 10 plus wins this year. -
[Vague Title]Our bills need to consider this

I think it is to early to be concerned about the WR position now. We have all of the OTA's , training camp and preseason to go. Dupree showed some moxie last week. O'Rielley , Ray Ray , and Proehl showed something and Streater, Holmes along with Jones , Benjamin and Kerley could condense into a good WR corps when the season starts. -

Peterman was the unfortunate person who got caught up in the Tyrod Fiasco. No matter who it was they would have been castigated by the Tyrod followers. Un fortunately ( I know , I know it is your favorite worn out joke CB 26) Peterman threw the interceptions with some help by his teammates. I really do not understand the vitriol against Peterman with many of you. Let's face it Tyrods never coming back and Peterman didn't have anything to do with his demise in the eyes of the Bills. Cut the kid some slack and we will see what he can do. GO BILLS

I cannot believe the narrow mindless of some Bills fans and i say fans with some disbelief. The TRUE Bills fan would want Peterman ,McCarron and Allen to in a contest for the starting job whereby there is a high level of progress for each one and the coaches have trouble determining who is going to start. That said , i believe Peterman , if he beats out McCarron,, will start game one and McCarron will be traded. Allen will come in when he is ready..

We will have certainly more involvement with the WRs this year so I do not think you can adequately put a grade on the receivers until we see what the season portends.
-
I can see an OL of LT Dawkins , LG Teller, C Groy , RG Miller, RT McDermott. They will have all of the OTA's and training camp to get ready and with the same system in effect , the preparation it should be better than it was last year. For WR I think most of us are forgetting about Brandon O'Rielley , McD. likes him.

A topic about Josh Allen is not a topic about Wide Receivers. I know from previous posts that you were not high on Allen. I was. We will wait for 2- 3 years to find out . So , for now, let your bias against him cool. -
Which Bills Decision Infuriated You?
Wily Dog replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to rumors at the time there were ' Mitigating " circumstances in the trade of Lamonica -
Peterman worked in the offseason to strengthen his arm and so the velocity of his throws has increased.

Do we have the worst QB situation in the league?
Wily Dog replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said earlier that i would not trade our QB's for many in the league. I firmly believe that given that Josh Allen becomes the QB i think he is going to be. I would not trade for any team in the AFC East ,South, or West, I might trade with Pittsburgh in the North. In the NFC East I would trade with Philadelphia. In the North I might trade with Green Bay, I probably would trade with Los Angeles and San Francisco and maybe Seattle in the West. I wouldn't trade in the NFC South. I would want a younger QB with the exception of Rogers who should have a few years left . -
