  1. In Boston, we'll be having a Draft Day party at the Harp.
  2. Yes, it's that time of year again. No, not the playoffs, but time to change my TSW viewing habits. Once a week should be more than enough to hear about how we should cut DB, cut Moulds, bring George Blanda out of retirement, fire Donahoe, bring back fried bologna, cut DB, start JP, cut DB, pave the endzone, blah, blah blah. Just kidding about the fried bologna. If anyone has any news about this, PM me. Oh, and does anyone have any opinions on Drew Bledsoe?
  3. Ahhh... what a relief: Perspective. Now *that* sucked.
  4. Ask the Giants how it feels to be starting a rookie quarterback. Sheesh, get a grip, people.
  5. Remember when the Bills were 3-6? And how this game looked to be meaningless? If you're a Steeler fan that can't get in to a home game -- or if you live only 45 minutes away in Erie -- it's a no brainer.
  6. Baker played well for the undrafted rookie that he was. He'll be OK when Vincent retires ;-)
  7. I don't think it played out as intended. IIRC, Bledsoe looked to pitch but Williams wasn't ready for it; the resulting play was his making something out of nothing. Or, in this case, less than nothing out of a lot of nothing.
  8. And the defense that couldn't get off the field in the 4th quarter, with the game on the line, against the second string. And a line that couldn't block on more than one critical play. You'd think that practicing against a zone blitz every week would have them prepared. And how about a kicker that blew an easy three points, setting the stage for a huge letdown by the aforementioned defense?
  9. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but the fact of the matter was that if the defense got off the field at that point -- against second stringers, don't forget -- there's a real good chance we win the game. The Bills played today exactly like they should have -- a team with a very good defense and a serviceable but flawed offense. Against poor or mediocre teams, we can win. But we can't overcome those mistakes against a top-echelon team. We're 9-7, which in my mind is exactly what our record should be. Am I disappointed? Yes, of course. But I'm not shocked. And I certainly am pleased, because we've shown great improvement from last year and our new coach has been vindicated.
  10. You guys are just too fast sometimes. Look at me!
  11. Actually, the tax situation here has become, if not tolerable, at least bearable. If you happen to live in a town where Prop 2 1/2 overrides are looked upon skeptically, you'll be all right. Now if we can just get the Legislature to abide by the referendum putting the income tax back at 5 percent... :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Massachusetts is MUCH better from a tax perspective than NYS. Cost of living, though, that could stand some work.
  12. Oh, how I wish this were true
  13. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the Dolphins aren't all that bad on defense, especially at home. They gave the Worlds Greatest Quarterback and his Genius head-coach a lot of headaches on Monday night. They put a lot of pressure on the NE offense and caused The Team That Doesn't Make Mistakes to make some pretty ugly ones. The Fish have lots of problems, but defensively, they're a quality unit.
  14. We need more cowbell! http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/12491/
  15. This one? http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr...s_dolphins?pg=2
  16. Good teams make their own breaks. They can take advantage of little mistakes, and win even when they're "not supposed to". We're a good team, now.
  17. Great to meet you, too, Promo. Pretty good day all around, eh? Hope you got some wings while they lasted!
  18. Know the Toe!
  19. It's good to see you back on the bandwagon, Rob
  20. According to the Channel 4 website, yes. But, of course, these things are subject to change. You should come anyway :-)
  21. I'll be there, definitely. You can help me hang the Bills flags, ok? ;-) I'm not anticipating a huge crowd (were you there for Charity Day?) since it's so close to Christmas and the game will be on local TV. But sure, come early and have lunch. If you can't find street parking, try the garage on Congress street under the Crescent building (where the Kinsale is) -- $8 all day on Sunday. It's not too far of a walk.
  22. And they say Journalism is sinking into the mud, these days. http://www.timesleader.com/mld/timesleader...al/10386987.htm
  23. I had almost the opposite feeling. Clements might be great guy, ND alum, etc, but he's never been a head coach at any level, and has only 3/4 of one year in a coordinator spot. I wouldn't quite call it a "courtesy" interview, but I'm sure ND was looking for more experience. I wouldn't be suprised if he actually gets the job sometime in the future.
  24. I'm laughing at the irony in the article on BB.com by Jerry Gray. Listen to this: "I've got to take a lot of the blame for our performance in the first quarter against the Miami Dolphins last weekend. I should have probably attacked them more with blitzes like I saw other teams do on film. As a defense, we did some stuff out of character and were trying to make plays too much rather than just playing the defense. We've got good defensive players and I should have gone after the quarterback right off the bat and not have been so concerned about all the other stuff that was happening." I seem to remember a particular Comeback Game where Jerry was on the other side of the ball from a defense that did exactly the same thing. In that game, the Bills defense was getting shredded by the Run-n-Shoot, and only in the second half when they switched back to the normal defense could they stop Houston. Now, Jerry and Co have been doing a great job this year in "adjusting" as the game goes on, so props to them, but hey... better late than never, I guess!
