Obviously, irony is lost on this group. Sheesh. Jay Riemersma?

ESPN report Just add this to the list of Bills who left for big $$ and never made an impact with their new team... Nate Odomes, where are you?
-
Why would you do that? I heard those FA RTs mostly stink.

Hey You NE Patsy Troll Chuckleheads!!!
JCBoston replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, it's just because they are front-running, obnoxious, fickle poor sports that can't face the fact that their "beloved" team is merely average. A couple of years of average play and we'll be able to buy group tickets for the Bills/Pats game again :-) -
Just in from V-Coach: Williams worked at left guard today, while Jason Peters got reps at right tackle. Hmm.... Discuss :-)

Right on, Bills Brother.

Huh? The guy had the TD, for sure, but there was NO excuse for the PI call at the end. He had the guy beat, didn't need to shove him. This team -- and EM in particular -- is mentally weak. See ya, you're not going to be worth $13 mil next year.

When do you plan on picking up Tom Brady?

You're right in that we have the best chance to win as compared to the last few times we've visited Foxboro. But... that assumes we show up, which we simply have not done since, oh, 1999 or thereabouts. I'm in full "trust-but-verify" mode over this game. But first, we should beat the Raiders :-)

I love to read stuff like this, from the Daily News article on the front page: "With a chance to grab a share of first place in the bizarro AFC East, the Jets were physically battered and soundly beaten at Ralph Wilson Stadium. " We have the players to do this every week, as long as the passing game can hold up it's end of the bargain. I'd love to see Lionel Gates get a crack at the field soon. I like Shaud Williams as a change-of-pace guy, but Gates is cut in the Willis mold. I can't imagine a defense would like to see that style of running for 40 plays a game.

Who knocked the Jets player on his ass

Josh Reed won the "unsung hero" award yesterday. Terrific downfield blocking. He's quietly having a great year; I hope they figure out how to get him on the field when Roscoe comes back. -
2006- Upgrades Needed At 4 of 5 OL Positions
JCBoston replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing that most baffles me is that these guys were doing a great job last year, especially down the stretch. The creativity that was there last year seems to be missing. Maybe they're still trying to find their way with the new players (esp. QB) at certain positions, but it's still strange. -
I have a feeling that he'll see the field at some point. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised to see him in for a few series -- and hopefully in the red zone. It might be a good way to get him to back off and stop pressing. It would also be a sign that MM hasn't given up on him.

On WGR this morning, someone had this analogy: JP looks like a comic book character with the bubble coming up from his head... but it's filled with question marks. He's playing like he's not sure of what he needs to do. When the game slows down for him -- and it will -- he'll be just fine. I look for that to happen somewhere around game 8-10. Hopefully we're still in it at that point.

And the reason we couldn't stop the run? The offense couldn't stay on the field. The Bills get even two or three first downs in the first quarter and it's a different game.
-
Precisely why London Fletcher didn't go back in, IMO.

Texans Fire OC Palmer and replace him

Joe Pendry! That's some crazy whacked-out schitt! -
We all knew a day like this was coming. I'm glad it came sooner rather than later, against an NFC opponent. JP stunk, for sure, but so did the rest of the offense, the defense, and the special teams. Oh, and the coaching stunk too. This stuff happens in the NFL. We don't win that game with Holcomb, or even Bledsoe for that matter. It was effectively over in the 3rd quarter when we couldn't stop Cadillac. All the teams in the AFC East are 1-1; we don't have any conference losses like NYJ or division losses like MIA. The Patriots, believe it or not, played worse than we did. NE goes to Pittsburgh (!!) next week while we play at home. There are 14 games left in the schedule. I will be tailgating at RWS in only six days. Unfortunately, I can't save any money on car insurance because I live in the People's Republic of Massachusetts.

From the writeups this morning, it doesn't sound like Fletcher (or MW, for that matter) are injured all that badly. MM said he kept Fletcher out for "precautions", and he was on the sideline the whole game. Mike Williams wasn't walking with any noticeable limp after the game, either.

i liked the move to pull losman for a series
JCBoston replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think MM pulled JP because he thought Holcomb would win the game. IMO, if Holcomb drove them to points, I think JP still goes back in. I believe it was a "breather" move to calm the kid down, not any vote of confidence either way. The whole team stunk today, not just the QB. (BTW, there goes Cadillac Williams for another 6 yard gain, lookout!) -
Two mind boggling moves by Mularky
JCBoston replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That move had nothing to do with Holcomb, and everything to do with JP. It was a "breather" -- they took him out to settle him down, regain his perspective. As someone mentioned above, it was a fine move as long as they put him right back in, when they did. The kid is just that -- a kid. He'll be ok. -
The Pats look beatable this season
JCBoston replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please. No, the way to beat the Pats is not through the blitz. Jerry Gray has been trying this for some time now, how has it been working out? Brady is tremendous at finding the guy in single coverage left by the blitz, and their O-line always gives him great protection. To beat the Pats, you have to exploit what weaknesses they do have: Their inside LBs are not that good this year; they can be run on. Teams with good tight-ends will have some success against the Pats. Defensively, you have to cover their TE's like glue and try to flush Brady out of the pocket. He is very difficult to sack so you have go for a lot of "coverage sacks". If you let Dillon get going, they'll kill you with play-action. Most importantly, you have to play a mistake free game, because they certainly will. -
I'd kill for the Pat's offensive line
JCBoston replied to Dante's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the Raiders have any defensive backs on their roster. -
This might be the best one he's ever written.
