  1. XXV: The bottle(s) of beer in my hand XXVI: The keg of beer in my kitchen XXVII: The shelf of hard liquor behind the bar XXVIII: The hari-kari knife on the table. Just make it go away, please
  2. I can't even tell when that alleged article was written.
  3. Right on. This is why I was so thrilled to hear Marv talk abouty "character guys" at his PC.
  4. Nope, The Count is from Sesame Street. LMAO!
  5. And this is a problem because...?
  6. Right on, Bills Brother. Sam played when he wanted to, and followed his own drummer on the field. Despite his talent, he's not a "team" guy. Good Riddance. And take Nate Clements with you, wontcha?
  7. Marv himself was an "old boy network" guy when he came to Buffalo, so its not unprecedented. Nor does it automatically make DJ a bad choice. That said, the team needs a personality transplant. I'm not sure DJ has any to give.
  8. Or, perhaps we're looking too deeply into Marv's quote. He could be saying that all he's going to be doing is football, whereas TD was responsible for both football and non-football operations. Come to think of it, we haven't heard from Ralphie yet regarding the administration side of the organization.
  9. The stadium might have been sold out in that period, but I can tell you that as the president of the Bills Backers chapter here, I had more free tickets given to me for the Bills games at Foxboro over those years than I could give away to our members. In 2000/2001, season ticket holders were clinging to their seats because they didn't want to lose choice seats in the new stadium, which was under construction. Boy, did I enjoy coming into my office on Monday :-)
  10. Does anyone know what Marv's record was when he first came to Buffalo? IIRC, it wasn't all that good -- and he was "close" to the organization. Just sayin' :-)
  11. I don't think I like him for the Bills job, but I had forgotten what a great job he did in Chicago that year -- and how it seemed unfair that they dumped him when he brought them som success.
  12. Ummm, isn't that what I said? If you don't consider Modrak, isn't the setup just like it was before Donahoe?
  13. I'm sure he meant that Jim Overdorf would remain the Bills cap-czar. I would bet dollars to donuts that TD, while taking credit for the cap situation, never negotiated the minutae of players contracts, and he certainly wasn't the team's salary cap accountant. Frankly, I'm puzzled by this "lack of direction" feeling. With the exception of the chief talent scout living outside of Buffalo, this is exactly how the team was run in the pre-TD era.
  14. No, but I'd venture to say a team's tendencies on 4th-and-1 are higher on the list of things to prepare for than the onside kick in the middle of a game. And no matter what lip service a coach does to Special Teams, it's never going to get the same level of attention as Defense. I recall after the last regular season game that the Jets were almost laughing about the Bills tendency to throw to Shelton in the flat. When you look at the KC play and the Jets game together, it says volumes about the Bills' Quality Control efforts (or lack thereof).
  15. And any moron should know that KC was going to scout the tendencies for fourth-and-one. They were ready for it, especially with Willis positioned where he was. That trick play was brilliant when he used it the first time. It should have retired for _years_ after that.
  16. Would you like fries with that?
  17. I say anyone who is "ashamed to be part of this community" would be coward enough to not show his face. Agree?
  18. Exactly. JG won't be hired as a head coach, you can bank on it. Now, if we can only get him out of Buffalo....
  19. Umm, yeah. And monkeys might fly out of my butt.
  20. I've thought all along that this is most likely scenario. It fits Ralph's MO.
  21. Please, after "Full of Mularkey" I want no part in any coach whose name can be made into a derogatory pun: Russ "The Situation is" Grimm Gil "Eddie" Haskell Jim "<so many choices I don't know where to start>" Fossil (sic)
  22. Stumbled upon this today... good news: Joe Ferguson Update "I have finally finished with the Chemotherapy treatments. At the last recheck at the doctor's office, they removed my CVC line, took me off all the medications and told us not to come back for 3 months! Praise God!"
  23. You're kidding, right? This one has San Diego, New England, Oakland written all over it.
  24. The sad thing is, the site was redone just recently. Somehow, they managed to make it worse than before.
