Once again.. Edmunds seems to be more of a passive player who reacts and responds instead of being more of an aggressive playmaker.. People like their MLBs to be more like Spikes, Lewis, Willis, Butkus... Edmunds is more of a Paul Posluszny/London Fletcher type of player.. May make a lot of tackles but unfortunately they’re 4-5 yards down the field.. Very good if not elite as a pass defender though!

Edmunds is a good not great player.. If he wants elite money, you let him go.. I think he’s worth $10M aav. He’s a better player than Milano, no doubt. Problem I have with Edmunds is he isn’t a violent, hard hitting, vocal leader at LB like Takeo Spikes or say Brian Urlacher or Patrick Willis. Ironically he reminds me a lot of Patrick Willis minus the hard hits and the mean streak, same range and athletic ability, but he gets abused at times against the run.. He has positional versatility, can play all three spots, bigger, faster, more durable etc.. I think Edmunds would excel in the role Milano is in.. Let Milano go.. Add a true MLB in the draft, let Edmunds assume Milano’s role, but once again it all comes down to money... not a penny more than $10M/yr.. If Edmunds isn’t reasonable with his contract demands, see if you can bring Milano back at a discount instead.. $$$$$$$$$

I’m seeing 12+ wins for this team...

I regret saying that we’d get smooshed against the Chiefs.. I do think it would be a hell of a fight to the last second though. I expected Josh to get better but not this much better. We can beat anyone but KC is clearly our biggest obstacle to a Championship. If we get past them, I think we got it.. -
What to do with Dawson Knox
Victory Formation replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think WR is a bigger need than people think.. Beasley and Smoke are up there in age. Diggs and Davis are the future here but we could use another talented WR to add to the mix.. Preferably a slot guy that can return kicks. Dawson Knox is a serviceable TE.. Could very well one day be a quality starter but we could absolutely use a premier player here.. As far as the draft is concerned, in no particular order, I think we need a WR/KR, TE, DE, NT, CB and LB.. -
Bills should adopt this as their theme song...

The fallacy of establishing the run
Victory Formation replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you have to be able to run in certain situations.. obviously it’s a pass happy league, the pass sets up the run and not vice versa.. Much of these WR screens, jet sweep plays and 1 yard passes and quick dump offs are an extension of the run game.. -
How do we keep Daboll around?
Victory Formation replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope that Daboll waits for a promising opening and not just an opening for a perennial loser like the Jets and teams like that.. In the event that Daboll does leave, the Bills should be able to attract the best and brightest minds to work with Allen.. Who wouldn’t want to work with an MVP finalist? -
Is Moss the best closer we have had since Thurman?
Victory Formation replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moss and Singletary are both productive backs.. Are they elite? By no stretch of the imagination, but it’s better to have two slightly above average backs than one elite one. RBC is by far the best way to go. -
Run D is important but our pass D is far more important. An excellent day for a RB is 100 yards.. And excellent day for a QB is 400 yards.. Yes it gets annoying sometimes but at least we got some dogs in this secondary, and although I’m not thrilled at times with the way Edmunds tackles, he’s a huge asset in pass D, gotta be patient with him...clearly respected by his peers...second Pro Bowl..

The margins for that happening are small though.. Took Josh a few years to hit stride.. With no good veteran QBs on the market, they’ll have to rely on a draft pick to come in and dominate which is a hard thing to do when you’re picking in the middle of the first round.. On average it takes a QB 2-3 years before they come into their own.. Not to mention he’ll be going up against Buffalo and Miami twice a year which is tough sledding.. Because of that reality, you may see New England with 3-4 guaranteed losses every year against divisional opponents, and when that happens coaches typically don’t last long..

Even if they do find their guy.. it’s rare for a 6-10 or 7-9 team to turn into a 10 win or 11 win team.. Bills are red hot with arguably the best or one of the best QBs in the league.. Our team is well built around him.. Patriots are not well built, they’re in full out rebuild with no QB.. They’re not picking high enough to draft a quality QB and even if they did it may take him 2 or 3 years before he can play at a high level.. I’m more concerned with Miami at this point..

At this point I wonder if he’d be a good backup.

49ers sign Josh Rosen
Victory Formation replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt about it.. Even if they do everything the right way, it’ll be hard for the Jets to win the division.. Obviously the Bills look to be a potentially dominant force and the Dolphins seem to be on the right track.. I could easily see the Patriots end up drafting Trey Lance and signing Jimmy Goroppolo.. That’s a tough sell to any quality HC that they wish to acquire.. The AFC East is tough.. -

Question is do the Jets build around him or trade him and build around someone else. The cap shouldn't be an issue but not sure new management wants to stick with a guy like Darnold when they could start completely fresh Well.. Darnold is going into the 4th year of his contract.. I think Justin Fields is a better prospect than Darnold was coming out.. Plus, Fields will be on the first year of his rookie contract.. And Fields is a lot better prospect.. Maybe the Jets can trade Darnold for a 2nd or 3rd? Convert those draft choices into OL/WR selections that can help Fields grow.. Regardless, 2021 will still be a very rough year for the Jets.. You don’t go from 1-15 to a playoff team overnight.. They’ll be lucky to break .500... Think you add a lot of weapons around Fields and you put a solid OL in front of him so he can develop and have some success.. Build that offense around your franchise QB... worry bout defense later...
