  1. Makes sense if the $$$ is right.
  2. Josh like Brady has the talent to make a slightly good WR into a very good one. Not as much separation is needed for them to get open because he can rifle the ball into very narrow windows. However, very tactful maneuvering is required to build a Championship team around Josh. Really have to choose which positions you value in terms of paying.
  3. This may buy him another year, but doesn’t guarantee that he’ll be here beyond 2022. Could still draft a few linemen this year and have them ride the pine while we develop them, but obviously this gives us flexibility though as far as the draft is concerned. DL & front seven is more of a need and this move allows us to target more dire areas on the team. No need to create a hole where there doesn’t need to be one.
  4. Struggled a lot with injuries, veteran TE who has the potential to haul in 30-40 catches as say the #2 option. We should be able to re-sign him for very little guaranteed money, knows the offense, solid camp body that can be cut for no cost. I just figure that between Kroft, Rudolph, Sweeney and Knox that we’d be able to squeeze some decent production out of that group and hopefully run some bigger sets which I think could add balance in the run game and passing game. Obviously we could draft a guy, but at TE, there’s usually a learning curve.
  5. I’d be really happy if we re-signed Tyler Kroft and then brought Kyle Rudolph in. Let them battle it out with Dawson Knox, Lee Smith and Tommy Sweeney. It would be nice to have some depth there and I think it would open up some Twin TE sets and big sets that we could both run and pass in. I think that’d be a good wrinkle for this offense. It would be much easier to run in those formations, which would be great for Moss and Singletary whom I feel are underrated. At WR, I like the idea of cutting John Brown. I think he’s finished. I’d go after someone like Dede Westbrook to come in and bring speed on a relatively cheap contract. Probably wouldn’t cost a whole lot more than McKenzie and obviously I do think you re-sign McKenzie. I think Diggs, Davis, Beasley, Westbrook and McKenzie is a good looking unit. Hopefully we can bring in a speed guy in the draft that can return kicks and hopefully develop into a weapon for Josh. Some say Elijah Moore, some say Dazz Newsome. I think I’d prefer Moore if he is there in RD3, but Newsome may not be a bad option in RD5. Regardless, I do think WR is a need, may not be an overwhelming need but still a need.
  6. 30. Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE Wake Forest 61. Jabril Cox LB LSU 121. Trill Williams CB Syracuse 163. Tedarrell Slaton DT Florida 175. Jack Anderson OG Texas Tech 181. Camryn Bynum CB California 189. Jaylon Moore OT Western Michigan 214. Drew Dalman OC Stanford
  7. A lot of them have to acquire firearms because they’re in fear of their life. I’ve lived in multiple bad neighborhoods, some of my neighbors are drug addicts and hardened criminals. What do you do if you have an offense and a nonviolent offense at that that prohibits you from protecting yourself? Hell, what do you do if you have even a violent offense that prohibits you from protecting yourself when you live in a neighborhood riddled with drugs, violence and gangs? You can get killed in these places over $50 or even because you are wearing the wrong clothes. Have too many valuables in your house? Can get robbed and killed over that too..
  8. He would add so much to this team. I think with Allen as his QB, he really could dominate and have a career year here. He is a great fit for this offense.
  9. I want Taco Charlton. He was a guy that I really liked coming out of Michigan. He’s 6’6 270lbs, he can set the edge, stop the run and provide solid production as a pass rusher. I don’t think he would cost all that much and I think he has the potential to grow into a solid contributor. I’m not saying he is the only free agent DL I want, but he would be a great player to add onto this DL. It’s not a bad idea. Wouldn’t mind him neither.
  10. I thought Klein came on strong towards the end of the year.. I mean, he had 5 sacks and he won DPOTW award twice I think. He was a very good free agent signing, good value for the money.
  11. I thought Hyde lost a step. Still seems like a good player though, but the price is a bit steep.
  12. Love the idea of adding another quick guy like McKenzie and Beasley. Hope he can return also.
  13. I actually really like Trey Lance. I hope he doesn’t go to New England. I think he is a hidden gem amongst this year’s QBs.
  14. We fall into these traps mentally where we think that cause a player is the #1 prospect he must be better than somebody taken 40th or 50th overall, but history shows, that’s clearly not the case. Surely your higher rated players will typically bear more fruit, but look at Josh, both Mayfield and Darnold were taken before him. If you like a guy that is 10-15 spots lower on McShay’s, Kiper’s or Jeremiah’s big board, take him! To hell with it! I feel this way about Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr.... He is the 50th overall prospect on most folks big boards, I want him at 30! To hell with these arbitrary numbers and rankings, get your damn guy!
  15. I’d like to see us re-sign Isaiah McKenzie and maybe go after Dede Westbrook to round out that WR room. Kyle Rudolph would be a good option at TE, I think he would instantly come in and start and provide production. Wouldn’t mind a high ceiling/low cost option at DE like Taco Charlton. I think he has untapped potential. Ultimately I hope we don’t spend a whole lot..
  16. I don’t know man.. It seems like Kyle Rudolph would be an affordable option and would provide us with some considerable talent and veteran leadership. Could be a 50-60 catch TE here. I think Allen will better utilize Rudolph better than Cousins ever could. I’d like to see us sign him for sure.
  17. Well.. Yes and No. Is he the answer long term at center? Most likely not. Now if someone like Creed Humphrey was available at #61? Perhaps, but would we create a hole at a position where we have a solid player already when our LB and DL units are in despair? Unlikely. Quinn Meinerz is also a good looking kid and might be there in the 3rd, if that happens Morse could be a goner too. He would most likely be a TC cut or trade. Could likely get a pick for Morse. It really depends if we’re going BPA or not and what we do in FA.
  18. I’m unamused with the idea of signing or trading for a high priced DE. I’m hoping we can add a solid LB for $5-6M like we did with Klein whom I thought was better than most people expected. Round out the LBs so we can draft heavy along the DL. Trade down, dump contracts if anything.
  19. That can be found rounds 3-5 easily.. Tedarrell Slaton and Marvin Wilson would be great space eaters but I think I disagree that we don’t need more pass rush.. Arguably our biggest need outside of LB.
  20. If you remember... our defense did much better with Zo in there.. Maybe we’ve fallen off a bit cause we have no one to fill that role..
  21. So I did a 5 round mock, I still had a few late round picks left to play with. Took Zaven Collins at #30 and I went up to get Boogie. I traded our 2nd, our 4th and a 2022 3rd for him. Seems like a lot but it really isn’t. DE is arguably the most important position on defense and I’m confident that Boogie will be a very good DE. Meinerz I feel has a huge ceiling. Played in a smaller school but dominated at that level. Insurance for Morse, competition for Ford. Lastly I took Tedarrell Slaton whom I feel can be an excellent NT. Good rotation behind Star, now we would have two space eaters. Still had the following picks in 2022 1st 2nd 4th 5th 6th 30. Zaven Collins LB Tulsa 45. Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE Wake Forest 93. Quinn Meinerz OC Wisconsin-Whitewater 175. Tedarrell Slaton DT Florida
  22. Let’s play a game. Which player would you take if we traded up and which player would you take if we traded down and who would you take if we stayed put? Keep in mind, if you want a guy like Kyle Pitts for example, a guy who is projected to go in the top 10, please factor that in and be realistic about the compensation it would take to go up and get him. Same goes for trading down. Keep in mind that if you were to go down too far, your prospect may be unavailable. Trade up: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame Daniel Jeremiah has him as his 21st overall prospect. Hypothetically speaking, if he fell to around #25 I’d be more than willing to package #30 and say a 2022 4th RD pick to get him and maybe an additional 5th or 6th this year. Owusu is a hybrid LB and can also play a bit of safety. Last year we wanted Kyle Dugger, who unfortunately went to New England before we could get him but Owusu is a much better player than Dugger is and ever will be and could fit that role here perfectly. Owusu would be Milano’s replacement ultimately and a huge upgrade at that. Trade down: Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr. Ultimately one of my favorite players in the draft. I am much higher on him than most are. I don’t think he would be a waste at #30 but from the looks of it, he should be available at #45-#50 if we were to trade down and we could easily pickup an extra 2nd and 3rd in the process. If Zaven Collins is gone before we pick, I think a trade down here is even more desirable. Boogie in my mind will put up double digit sacks multiple times over his career and would be a plug n play player at LE. Stay put: Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa This is my ideal scenario for staying put at #30. Collins can play at DE, OLB and MIKE. Big enough to take on offensive linemen, can shed blocks and disengage well. Very powerful, maybe not overly fast or quick but has underrated athleticism. Very smart player who would thrive in zone coverage because of his awareness and intellect but probably not a guy you’d want to see drop back in man. Once again, his understanding and awareness makes him deadly in coverage. More often than not he is where he needs to be and because of stellar instincts he makes up for not being necessarily the most explosive or athletic athlete. There you have it folks, who you got?
  23. My friend, my friend. Did you not say that Collins could fill the void left by Zo? Let’s not underestimate the value that Zo had in that role and let’s also keep in mind that Collins is way more gifted than Zo ever was. Is he a MLB? Is he a DE? Is he a SLB? Are these all not arbitrary questions and statements? Collins could come in here right away and be a Swiss Army knife for this defense and a versatile chess piece regardless of position. We could do a lot worse at #30.
  24. I disagree on Collins, he’s a hammer. He is strong enough to shed blocks from the OL and can disengage quickly. Would be a huge improvement over Edmunds in run support. You bump Edmunds into Milano’s old spot and let him cover. This may not be the thought process of Beane, I’m just thinking out loud. Won’t pretend to act like I know what OBD is thinking.
