Well, he was on the wrestling team both in high school and college. We rough housed all the time.

I’m 6’2 with an extensive history in bodybuilding and I warn you to never underestimate someone because of their height. My friend Ronnie is about as big as McKenzie but he grew up on a farm. He’s put me through multiple walls before, freakishly strong. I’m not saying height/size don’t matter but some of these smaller dudes are scrappy.

Allen will be a better QB than Kelly. Will he have as good a team around him is the question.

I could not agree more. Singletary is better than given credit for and yes even better than Moss who seems to be the fan favorite here for some reason. If you give him a hole, there’s a good chance he’s going to get something out of it. Problem is our OL can’t run block. Maybe that could change with different formations and packages etc. Twin TE sets, big sets etc. Bottom line is our line just can’t seem to get it done otherwise.

I guess years of getting your arse kicked will do that to you.

I will say this about the Browns though. They have some of the nicest fans in all of pro football. Very classy fan base at least from my interactions with them.

Can play inside/outside too, which matters.

I guess I can kind of see your point. More than kind of actually. If we don’t go Ertz (which I think we will), another corner may not be a bad idea.

I think it will be Ertz if anyone at all. Levi Wallace is no slouch, say what you want about him.

I think it’s going to happen within the next week or so. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Beane did free up quite a bit of cap space as well when he converted much of Diggs salary into a bonus, so clearly he’s making room for a reason.

No, I disagree that this FO has any hope of Knox being the long term answer for us. They made too many moves to suggest comfort here. I doubt Buffalo plans on running many Twin TE sets, sure it’s a nice wrinkle in the run game and play action but a bit conservative for us given Allen’s skill set.

Right, but can’t you see the motivation here? This will be Knox’s third year, this is usually put up or shut up time. Don’t you think Beane and McD would have a good pulse on the TE position by now? Why all these moves if they feel good about Knox?

How would you feel if your boss demoted you and hired somebody to take your spot and paid them more than you? To top it off, they bring in competition and are paying them at a higher wage than you also. And the guy they brought in to compete with you is really good friends one of your other bosses. How would that make you feel? This is essentially what they’re trying to do with Ertz and Hollister. Knox will have to put up unbelievable numbers this year, which will be next to impossible if we land Ertz.

Yes, my friend. Hughes buys Boogie and Rousseau time to get acclimated to the pro level. May even be a great rotational guy by the end of the year. I suspect Boogie will be our RDE by the end of the year and beyond. Addison I couldn’t give a rats arse about.

Yup, but where did I say cut him? I’m essentially saying that we need to upgrade the position and by the looks of it our FO agrees. Certainly he can beat out Hollister, but not somebody like Ertz. You say that I think I know more than our FO, but ultimately my opinion reflects their approach like a mirror. If anything, your faith in Knox seems to be antagonistic towards what Beane and McD are doing. Did we not go after Hunter Henry as well? And now Ertz? Once again, my opinion is essentially echoing what they’re doing. They went after Hunter Henry and now Ertz, they clearly think we’re soft at TE. If anything, you’re the one going against the grain, by all means.

Oh, absolutely and I’m not necessarily saying we should cut him, that’s madness, but I’m also not advocating that we should wait for him to develop over the next 2-3 years while our Super Bowl window closes. TE is our biggest weakness, inject talent there and let the chips fall where they may.

When I say move on, it could mean numerous things. We could trade for Zach Ertz, we could draft a TE next year, we could go after a free agent. Obviously he has a cheap contract, so that matters, but you tell me, what makes you think Dawson Knox is any good? Tell me, what are you seeing?

If you don’t have a QB, what position does matter exactly?

I don’t see Knox ever becoming what we hoped for him to be. Time to move on.

I’ve been waiting for this, it looks like it’s finally going to happen. Send them a 5th, I don’t care. Ertz will be a top 5-7 TE in this league with Allen getting him the ball. I know he has one year left on his deal, but he will re-sign here once we get to the Super Bowl or AFCC game.

I can’t say I really disagree with you. He will be 31 in September. How much will he get really? Many athletes start to fall off at that age.
