Bills trading Daryll Johnson to the Panthers for 6th rd pick
Victory Formation replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would keep Mario as a rotational guy, but I’ve seen enough of Rousseau to know that he’s a good player and my boy Boogie did well given the limited snap count. I think you’ll see Rousseau at LDE and Boogie at RDE next year with Epenesa, Obada and Addison as rotational pieces. I think Buffalo has a very bright future at EDGE for the most part. NT? Not so much. -
So...what does the hoodie have up his sleeve?
Victory Formation replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a very interesting topic. I’m drawing blanks really, mainly because I think that there is no way they can stop Josh. I suspect that they will try and stop the pass, so if I’m Buffalo I think we really need to establish the run and to set up the play action. Also, I think the real question is what McDaniels will do on offense, as he is an extremely good coordinator and a very solid coach. I suspect that they will #1 Run the ball, big formations, Twin TE sets and extra linemen and #2 Establish a quick, short passing game with Mac Jones and #3 Try to create mismatches for our D, ie pull plays, toss plays, getting their linemen into space and onto our LBs and secondary. #4 Trick plays, gadget plays, reverses and flea flickers to fool our defense. #5 Confusing Tremaine Edmunds. Getting him to shoot the wrong gaps. At this point NE will look to create as many mismatches as possible. -
Someone stole Bills Elvis' Sh it
Victory Formation replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think dressing up for Bills games is kind of stupid, but I will admit that the Bills Elvis gives me a small chuckle. Elvis is the GOAT in my mind as far as Gospel music is concerned, forget the rocknroll stuff. RIP. -
It says a lot about him by the way he played against Bill Belichick. He’s a great coach, I would love to have him in Buffalo.

Daboll's Play Calling -- The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Victory Formation replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
The running game needs to improve. I wish the Bills would bring Anthony Lynn back in some capacity, maybe as the RB coach and as our running game coordinator. He’s a disciple of Greg Roman IIRC. I have so much respect for the guy. -
He’s gone.

Looks pretty tough on paper.

Bears request permission to interview Frazier

Please, please, please. His defenses are soft. -
Calling it now: Devin will be a 1000 yard back this year
Victory Formation replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s a good back, I’ve always liked him, he is a solid performer. I’m a big fan of RBBC but I still think we could use an elite bruiser, but yes, I would probably still sign Singletary to a second contract barring a catastrophic injury. -
If the Bills re-sign Edmunds, they're stupid.
Victory Formation replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been saying this for years, I’ve never liked him. Only way it makes sense to keep him is if his $$$$ is low, which I don’t see happening. -
I love the idea of 6 linemen on the field at once. We seemingly have great depth at this position.

Kudos to JP21. A little recognition.

Hyde and Poyer is the best safety tandem in the league, bar none. -
If Frazier does get signed as a HC this offseason, I would take Flores in a heartbeat. He always plays the Patriots close.

Etienne thought he was going to be a Bill

I still stand by it. -
I like the idea of keeping Morse at center throughout 2022 and drafting a replacement in the first round next year. He’s average, not good, not bad overall but a solid pass protector nonetheless and also as a pull center as @John from Riversidehas pointed out. His problem is he lacks physicality in the run game against stout defensive linemen. He can’t blow up holes for RBs in the power run game, but once again he anchors down well in pass protection, but keep in mind, we can do a lot worse than Mitch Morse. Buffalo could benefit from upgrading multiple positions all across the board. LG, C, RG, RB, TE, NT, NT, CB, LB and such. I know Edmunds is a big body at LB but he seemingly does not use his body to his advantage and lacks a sense of physicality. It will be interesting to see what Beane does to fill these holes in the offseason. I don’t think it’s far fetched to assume that Buffalo could be back on top the AFC East if Buffalo seriously retools some things on our roster, mainly if we can manage to scrape together a physical run offense and a defense that is predicated on stopping the run. I guess in a nutshell that both our IOL and IDL needs to be completely refortified. A power RB is absolutely necessary in the worst way, we need a bruiser.

I digress. Our team has a top 5 QB and a talented roster. All it will take in my mind is one great draft and one great offseason and the Bills will be ready to compete again. I get it, I felt miserable after the Patriots loss too, but Belichick as obnoxious and profane as he is is arguably the greatest coach of all time. I don’t like him, but I respect him. He has a good 35 years of experience on McDermott. The Bills hadn’t made the playoffs in a billion years since Beane and McD got here, give him a chance to fix things. 45 W - 31 L in his tenure here is absolutely way, way better than what we’re used to. If you fire coach McD, we may go back to being like the Ralph Wilson Bills. Fix the OL, get a stud RB and plug in a couple nasty NTs and we’re back on top of the AFC East again. Give McD a chance to settle the score with Bill Belichick.

Ticket Holders — How to Dress For Cold Rain?
Victory Formation replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a fabulous response. May I also recommend a waterproof cushion to put on your seat? One of those thick one inch memory foam pads to sit on? I find that the stadium seats are way too hard and cold to sit on. -
Blocking scheme matters. Mainly mismatches for instance. If you can get a lineman on a CB or S on a well designed run play, how do you stop that? Having a fantastic center and guards also matters quite a bit on QB sneaks, HB dives during goal line and short yardage situations. The ability to overpower in situations when the play calling is obvious and when the game ultimately turns into a matter of will between the two teams. Having 2-3 TEs on the roster who can block as additional linemen in these situations can help also, as well as putting a 6th OL the field. I also think that the most obvious response you’ll see in this thread is the presence of a quality NT, but I think that’s a position that is exceedingly difficult to fill given the circumstances especially when it pertains to finding an elite one. Many of these guys are drafted fairly high in RD1, but many of them fail to become even remotely average. There’s very few men on this Earth that are capable of throwing around and outmuscling some of the biggest, most gifted and talented athletes on this planet. Short of the things I listed above, I think having an in the box safety is also a cheat code for defenses and hard to stop. The Troy Polamalu’s and Sean Taylor’s of the world etc. I suppose in the modern day NFL, players like Jamal Adams, Kyle Dugger and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah would fill that role rather admirably. It may be too early for draft talk, but Kyle Hamilton of Notre Dame looks to be a nice player that could fit that mold. No idea where he will go as far as the draft is concerned. I would also like to point out that having two shutdown CBs is very difficult for most offenses to overcome. This puts your two guys on the outside in man coverage while allowing your defense to put 8 in the box. RB also matters, but I think without a quality line and especially a quality run blocking scheme they’ll faulter quickly. It truly does take an innovative coach to optimize the run game consistently.
