Problem is, if we did sign Cousins, we'd be spent. Not a penny left for anyone else, that's worrisome to me. If we went after Case Keenum: 1.) Is he a 1 year wonder? 2.) Do you want to hitch your wagons to him and commit long term? Because in my mind, he is going to get a fat contract. Nick Foles would be a decent fall back option, but like Keenum, is he a flash in the pan? Do you want to give up draft picks and money to acquire him? That leaves a bunch of other mediocre options, why dump Taylor at that point? Especially for a lateral move.

Couple good things about keeping Taylor: 1.) If we cut him and failed to land a top free agent, we would be empty handed which is a possibility because we don't have as much cap space as other teams. 2.) We aren't in a frenzy to draft a QB, the board can come to us and it will be harder for other teams to see our hand. 3.) Taylor has 1 year on his deal, perfect bridge QB. Sit the rookie down, start Taylor and let him walk after his contract expires. 4.) Cutting Taylor and signing another middle of the road QB would take up more valuable cap space for essentially the same results. 5.) If we do land a rookie QB that is showing dominant traits early on, we can trade Taylor to a team that has an injured starter or a team that failed to draft or sign a viable option in free agency. 6.) His teammates love him. 7.) We made the playoffs with Tyrod with a Swiss cheese roster, we can do it again with 4 picks in the top 2 rounds.

I look at Foles as my oh **** option. If we go through March and then April with no resolution then I see us making a strong push for Foles. I don't see him being dealt until after the draft but I'm no Miss Chloe I'm just thinking ahead. I want Case Keenum. Want 20 a year? No problem, the market is going to explode, I'd sign him quick before Brees and Cousins sign.

Andy Benoit's 2018 Free Agent Rankings

Yeah, I know. But they could both be signed really cheap. Add a guy like Taven Bryan, ease him into the lineup FT, our interior D is set. -

Haloti Ngata and Kyle Williams would be nice. -
I want Case Keenum. Draft a QB if a good one falls, otherwise load up.

Trade Scenario Depending on the NY Giants
Victory Formation replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a good strategy, Vea and Rudolph would be solid picks. We may get an additional 3rd if we lose Gaines. Could have two 2nds and two 3rds, could completely rebuild the entire roster. A young QB would fail here if we gave up everything to get him, we have too many holes. How we made the playoffs last year I have no freaking idea. -

I'm not in the trade up crowd, I'm in the sit tight crowd and play the compensatory picks game. We could walk out of this draft with 4 starters and some nice depth. Rudolph and Jackson could both be there, maybe Josh Allen, we'll see. -
Trade down...move 21 or 22
Victory Formation replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe so. I think if we sit tight we can get some really good players at 21-22 (Taven Bryan, Vita Vea, Derrius Guice, Mason Rudolph, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Christian Kirk, Courtland Sutton and Roquan Smith) The 2nd round and beyond is outside of my knowledge but at 21 and 22 there should be some really good players available. -
You have to have a destination before somebody can give you directions. Who is worth the collateral to move past the Jets? Every QB not named Darnold or Rosen is a huge gamble. With 4 picks in RDS 1-2, we can do some serious damage, I'm not willing to give that away unless Darnold or Rosen fall to #3. YMMV.

Who is Rivers, Manning and Ben? Do you know? I'm not sure if I see that guy in this class.

What RB I would target in the draft
Victory Formation replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are other guys I'd prefer at 21 and 22. I really want Taven Bryan, Christian Kirk, Vita Vea, any of the top 5 QBs. If the board fell a certain way, I do think Guice would not disappoint. -

Derrius Guice is the guy I want, watch a couple clips of him, tell me he won't be a good pro. He wouldn't just spell Shady, by the end of the year he would replace him entirely. -
2018 Mock drafts and top prospects

Too many people are starting to catch on to Kirk, he may be there at 21 though maybe maybe he falls with a poor combine. Brown is a ninja, wouldn't mind him RD2.
